Story
Jewel is a beautiful gal who came into our care with her sister Molly after their owner was hospitalized. She's takes a while to trust, but once she does, enjoys chin scratches and belly rubs. She loves wand toys, but doesn't like to share. As a typical calico, she can be spicy and doesn't like to be picked up and carried. She would do best in a home with no other pets and older children who understand boundaries. She is FIV/FelV negative, flea treated and dewormed, up to date on her vaccines and has been spayed. PLEASE READ THE FOLLOWING! An adoption application can be found at www.oxfordcountyanimalrescue.com (click on Adopt, then Cats for Adoption, then scroll to the bottom of the page). We require 2 non-familial references (including contact numbers) as well as permission to speak with your vet. Please note that yearly vet visits are a requirement for all our adopted kitties. If this is not your past practice, your application will not move forward. You must be 21 years old to adopt. The adoption fee is $200. It may take up to 72 hours to approve your application. Please provide all requested information, including contact numbers, to help expedite the process. Repeated phone calls and emails will not move your application along. We are a volunteer, foster based rescue. We are not able to facilitate meet and greets before an application is received. You are not able to meet multiple kitties to see if one fits as the animals may be fostered in different locations. Please help us get the kitties to their forever homes faster by respecting these guidelines!

Story
Found Brownie on Facebook in September 2020, when she was just a few weeks old. She is a vocal cat that talks with you, has a lot of personality and she is very cute! Would be ideal the new home to have a yard, as we lived for 2 years at a house. She likes the outdoors and stays on our balcony for hours each day.

Story
Hello! My name is Chester!I am a friendly boy who can be nervous at first; once I get to know you and I feel at home, I am a big softie! When I'm feeling unsure, you may notice my tail swooshing and that's my communication to say I need a little break. Once I feel comfortable with you, I will rub against your legs, sit on your lap and tell you how much I love you with my little meows. My new family should know that I came to GHS with a history of IBD/enteritis - thankfully my friends at GHS worked very hard to assess me and developed a plan that has been very successful! I am on a special diet and a few supplement to keep me feeling happy and healthy. I am looking for a family that is committed to continuing my treatment plan so I can feel my best self!MY IDEAL HOME INVOLVES...CHILDREN: Older, mature children may be okay; I would be best suited to a calm, mature homeOTHER CATS: I have lived with cats before and could be a good match after a gradual introduction.DOGS: Yes, with a respectful dog and gradual introduction.FIRST-TIME CAT OWNERS: No, I would do best with someone who has previous cat experience. SOME OTHER THINGS TO KNOW ABOUT ME...ACTIVITY LEVEL: MediumAM I ON A PRESCRIPTION DIET? Yes - Hypoallergenic HP diet + gastro supplementsIf you think I would make a good match for your home, click the "Adopt Me" button to apply!

Story
Hi, my name is Izzy! The GHS family thinks I'm awesome because I can play "hard to get" but I am a big softy once you get to know me! Some of my favorite things include catnip, catnip, and more catnip; if you bring me a pinch or two, I'll show you my wild and goofy side! I am a low-key lady who likes to spend the rest of my day lounging when I'm not being loved on by the shelter staff. My new family should know that I have a progressive FeLV infection, which means I need to be an indoor cat. Feline leukemia (FeLV) is contagious to other cats, and therefore, would recommend consulting with your veterinarian on risks of adding me to a feline-friendly home. My new family should be prepared that I may start to show symptoms related to FeLV or take longer to recovery from ailments that wouldn't be a "big deal" to other cats. I can still live a very happy life in a quiet environment and with regular veterinary care, so the GHS recommends speaking to your vet prior to adopting me. I would make a wonderful addition to a calm and cuddly home - take me home today!MY IDEAL HOME INVOLVES...CHILDREN: Teenagers or older respectful children please!OTHER CATS: Potentially, if they are also FELV + and with a slow and careful introductionDOGS: Potentially, with a calm, respectful dog.FIRST-TIME CAT OWNERS: Potentially, if you have some cat experienceSOME OTHER THINGS TO KNOW ABOUT ME...ACTIVITY LEVEL: Low-mediumAM I ON A PRESCRIPTION DIET? Story
Hello my name is, Rupawl!I previously came from a home with a lot of other cats. So I'm very familiar with living among other felines. I am quite outgoing but can be nervous in new environments and will take a bit of time to adjust. I love treats and neck scratches. I can still be unsure at times and am looking for a home with cat experience to help increase my confidence. Once I feel comfortable, you will know it because I'll be chatting with you to get some love and attention!MY IDEAL HOME INVOLVES...CHILDREN: No, I would do best in an adult-only home.OTHER CATS: Yes, I have lived with other cats before and could do so again with a gradual introduction!DOGS: I could potentially live with a calm cat-savvy dog after a proper introduction.FIRST-TIME CAT OWNERS: No, I am looking for someone with cat experience who can read my body language and know when I am feeling unsure.SOME OTHER THINGS TO KNOW ABOUT ME...ACTIVITY LEVEL: MediumAM I ON A PRESCRIPTION DIET?
