Story
Hello Future Family. My name is Cassie. I'm approximately 5 years old, my current family took me in from outside and I've lived with them for a few years, but sadly my human moms allergies have gotten too bad. They said they'll miss me because I'm really a snuggle bug! I like to hide and sleep a lot during the day. I have a furry cat friend that I really like and another that I really don't like.... I'd say I mostly like humans over other animals. I walk with a little head tilt, but my Dr said I dont have an infection, I think it might be a slight hearing loss from my early days outside. I get a little nervous when you first meat me, but I will relax real soon with lots of love from you. give my mom an email so you can meet me. - Sincerely Cassie

Name: CaliBreed: Calico/DSHDOB: 5/30/2022Good with kids: YESGood with dogs: YESGood with cats: YESFoster location: Rockford, IL Adoption fee: $125 Fun Bio: These babes will be ready for adoption when they are 8-10 weeks old. So we have some time, but follow their story! Get an application in, and be patient OR apply for one of our already kittens or cats! If interested in a pet from us please fill out the adoption application that is located on our website.  We process applications in the order in which they are received.  We will likely not respond to interest emails regarding puppies and/or kittens, we get so many "interest" emails that we simply do not have the time to respond to each one.  We always recommend playtime, positive reinforcement training and a regular schedule for feeding times when bringing a new cat/kitten into your home. Adjustment takes time for both you and your new family member, so remember to be patient and enjoy this new and exciting time!Included in the adoption fee are age appropriate vaccinations, FeLV/FIV testing, deworming, spay or neuter surgery, and microchip. Anti-Declawing Policy:All cats and kittens will have a no declaw policy in their adoption contract with us!  Declawing is a series of bone amputations.  Declawing is more accurately described by the term de-knuckling and is not merely the removal of the claws, as the term “declawing” implies.  In humans, fingernails grow from the skin, but in animals that hunt prey, the claws grow from the bone; therefore, the last bone is amputates so the claw cannot re-grow.  Declawing is one of the most painful, routinely performed procedures in all of veterinary medicine.  Each toe of the cat is amputated at the first joint.  Declawing a cat is equivalent in a person to amputating the entire first knuckle of every finger.  Declawing is done strictly for the benefit of the owner.  There are NO benefits to the cat and NO good reasons to declaw. Declawing can lead to behavior changes.  A declawed cat has no way to defend itself and may resort to biting more often.  Due to pain, they may stop using the litterbox.  There are humane alternatives to declawing.  Cats can be trained to use scratching posts.  They should have their nails trimmed regularly.  There is double sided sticky tape that can be put on furniture to deter a cat from scratching there.  There are also nail caps called Soft Paws that are glued onto a cat's naile cat’s nails without harm. ##2079817##

Story
Percy is the quintessential lap cat, a sweet old man with a heart as tender as the quietest whisper. His years have seasoned him with a gentleness that exudes from every pore, making him the perfect companion for cozy afternoons and peaceful evenings. His fur, a plush tapestry of life's rich tapestry, invites affectionate strokes, and he repays such kindness with a soft, contented purr that seems to resonate with gratitude. Percy, however, is not a fan of thunderstorms; they ruffle his calm demeanor as much as they ruffle his fur. During such times, he seeks the reassuring sanctuary of a warm lap, where the steady heartbeat of his human provides a comfort stronger than any tempest roar. In the shelter of your embrace, Percy finds his haven, offering in return an unwavering companionship that only a feline of his venerable years can provide. Percy isn't just a pet; hes a gentle, loving presence that fills every corner of your home with serenity. My medical care is supported thanks to Cat-R-Walking Home fund. To find out more information about what is included with my adoption, please speak with an adoption counselor! Thanks to the Cat-R-Walking Home fund, my adoption fee is waived!
