Story
About Jonas: Jonas is a male Cane Corso mix who is approximately 10-11 months old. At around 60 lbs, he is a large dog, but not yet at his full adult size. Jonas came to us after being found on the street, so we do not have a lot of information about his past. His breed is known for being loyal, intelligent, and eager to please, and they typically thrive in homes that provide structure, and ongoing training. While in our care, Jonas has shown himself to be a really good boy. He has a very friendly temperament, is eager to please, and enjoys interacting with people. Personality: Jonas is a fun, affectionate young dog who is still very much in his puppy stage. He is eager to learn, enjoys attention, and is developing into a well-rounded companion. Like many adolescent dogs, he brings a playful, energetic presence and will benefit from continued guidance as he matures. Training & Behaviour: Jonas has shown some signs of: - Pulling on leash (still learning walking skills) - Puppy energy Jonas has otherwise shown signs of being a very good boy with minimal behavioural concerns noted. However, dogs his age may become more jumpy or mouthy if they spend extended time in a shelter environment. All dogs benefit from positive, reward-based training that focuses on building trust and reducing stress. Using gentle guidance, consistency, and rewards will help Jonas continue to grow into a well-mannered adult. Ideal Home Jonas would do best in a home that: - Provides regular exercise and opportunities to burn off his medium energy level - Has adopters committed to continuing training and socialization - Offers structure and consistency to help him succeed Children: 12+ Dogs: Good with dogs, provided they are a suitable match for his size, energy level, and play style Cats: Unknown (still being assessed) Jonas offers so much! He's friendly, has eager-to-please temperament still young and very trainable. He is a great candidate for continued training and bonding. If you're looking for an awesome, fun companion that you can help shape into a fantastic lifelong dog, Jonas is your guy! ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- All adult dogs at Animal Services have veterinary health checks, and are spayed or neutered, vaccinated, dewormed and defleaed (if necessary) before going to their new homes. Adoption Fee: $391 If you live in the City of Vancouver, you will also need to purchase a dog licence. For more information on our adoption process, go to vancouver.ca/adopt

Hi lovely Canadians. My name is DEEDI (Dedi) and here is a little info about me:Breed: Labrador Retriever/Cane Corso mixAge: 5 yearsGender: femaleWeight: 38 kg/84lbsCountry of origin: Republic of GeorgiaHighlights: eager to please/learn, easy to train, intelligent, curious, faitful, affectionate, entertaining A nurturing "super-mom" with a heart of gold, ready to shower a big, busy family with endless cuddles. A critical message: Due to instability for rescue teams, I have an urgent need to reach a safe, forever home as soon as possible. Please do not delay my rescue mission!  Abandoned by an owner who couldn't sell my pups, I spent months surviving a cruel neighborhood where I faced electric shocks and threats. Despite the hardship, my loving nature never faded;I cared for my own puppies and even took in other abandoned ones.Since June 2024, I’ve been safe in a shelter, waiting for a real home. I’m a calm dog at heart and a natural nurturer who offers constant affection. While I get a bit excited on walks right now, it’s just because I’ve been confined, once I’m in a routine, my chilled-out self will return. Being intelligent and eager to please makes me a quick learner.A little stubbornness pops up occasionally, but my obedience is strong! Humans are my favorite thing in the world! My ideal home is a busy one with people everywhere, kids, grandmas, and visitors are all welcome. Bigger kids are a better match so I don't accidentally knock anyone over.I just want to love you up and and have you love me back!Additional videos:https://youtube.com/shorts/HQzhqZQYauc, https://youtu.be/EvafMy-pSPQ,  https://youtube.com/shorts/E5zc9kFSpjo?si=JhdWUMH1n160QCVEhttps://youtu.be/YZNP-ndXG1s, https://youtube.com/shorts/TxvPnkawZzc,  https://youtube.com/shorts/X4YZRvj8OzYEnergy Level: moderateI get along with:Dogs: yesCats: noKids: yesFears: none observed. Please help me learn where to go in my new home.Health notes:I have been spayed/neutered, vaccinated and will be microchipped before arrival. My adoption fee is $750.00 CAD plus applicable taxes. This includes my transportation to Canada, if I am able to be accompanied by a flight volunteer directly to Vancouver. Disclaimer: It is important for all applicants to visit our website, http://www.lovedatlastdogrescue.ca/adopting/ and read about Loved at Last Dog Rescue.Information included in the profile is provided to us from the international rescuer or local fosters. LALDR does not have access to overseas dogs and cannot always verify the accuracy of their descriptions. Every dog is an individual and can act differently in different situations based on the person adopting them and the environment in which they live. Please Note: LALDR highly encourages adopters to research some local dog trainers before their dog arrives. Although a 1-on-1 trainer is often not needed, it is good to have someone in mind in case any problematic behaviours arise. Most bad behaviours can be modified if caught early enough, so make sure to nip undesirable behaviours in the bud before they become serious problems.Basic training should be taken seriously, but should not begin until your dog is well settled in - at least a couple of weeks. After you feel your new dog is relaxed and comfortable in their new home, check out training courses in your local area. Even basic beginner courses like those taught at a local pet store can have a huge benefit in helping your dog learn to socialize and get used to being in public situations, all with the added benefit of strengthening their bond with you. While most dogs find escorting passengers flying directly to Vancouver, some will find flights through Toronto or  Montreal. In that case, additional fees will apply to fly your dog to Vancouver by cargo. Unaccompanied cargo costs within Canada range from $350 - $550 depending on the size of the dog. LALDR will be as transparent as possible with you regarding these costs. The age and breed of a dog is usually an educated guess, so we are not able to guarantee the accuracy of age or breed of our dogs. Normally, we will not approve adoptions to homes with children under 12 years of age. However if a dog has been determined to be good with children we will approve applicants with children 8 years or older. More information can be found on our website. [MID-EAST] *Vaccinations: Dogs from the Middle East are vaccinated for rabies, parvo, distemper, leptospirosis, adenovirus type 1 and para-influenza. Bordetella is not given, as that has not been a problem in the Middle East. [TURKEY] *Dogs receive 4D SNAP tests - which include: Heartworm, Ehrlichiosis, Leishmania and Anaplasmosis. ##2151282##

Story
Hi my name is Stormy! I'm a very sweet and shy girl but I loooove attention. I might take a while to come around, but I'm not leaving your side once I do! I'm not a fan of other dogs, or cats so I would prefer to be your only furry housemate. That being said I will give a warm welcome to any two-legged friends that come a for visit. I'm a little on the slimmer side this summer, so I'm taking time for myself to put on some weight with a nice balanced diet three times a day, and lots of rest. Hopefully, I'll be up to my normal activities very soon but I will definitely need help building my endurance :)If you would be interested in giving me a forever home I would if you filled an application online so that my helpers can get back to you! *Please note - Dog meets are by appointment only. The first step to schedule a meet would be to submit your online application. Primary Color: Grey Secondary Color: Brindle Weight: 36.3 Age: 3yrs 0mths 2wks

Story
Greetings all. My name is BODHI and below is some info about me:Breed: Pitbull Mix/Cane Corso mixAge: 2-1/2 yrsGender: MaleWeight: 54 lbsHeight: 15”Country of origin: US, New MexicoHighlights: Sweet, loving, charming, shy, anxious I am ready for my new home. I'm really quite the loving boy.  I would do best with a person who works at home or a family that has people around most of the time. I am fine a couple hours alone, but as time transpires, I tend to get more distraught and yes (head hanging), I have chewed on some human things after too long a time period. As I settle in with someone, I'm sure that I will be able to move beyond this behaviour, however. I am so very eager to please! A yard would be super, as I need exercise. Acreage, an extra special bonus. But I can be a real couch potato too. A cuddly bug too. I am shy when meeting new people, but once I warm up, I am fine. If you provide me proper introduction with another dog, I am usually quite gentlemanly. I was getting along fine with the doggie housemate I had at my old home. I can be somewhat nervous when passing by strange dogs when out walking so I will need someone calm and confident to guide me to a new state of confidence. I will appreciate a human who can reassure me that they are able to protect me as it appears that I have been in scary situations in the past. I am very excited about finding a human who can reassure me that I am safe and that I am protected, not vice versa. I recently got a clean bill of health regarding my blood testing from the vet.  Original posting: No brag, here comes a boy who is as sweet and charming as they come, so I am told.My first owner was unable to keep me and so found what she "thought" was a great home for me. Unfortunately, I ended up at the shelter after I escaped the yard of my new home. Probably trying to look for my original person. Sadly, my new owner did not even make an effort to find me or bring me home. My first owner panicked seeing my post and feared I would be euthanized and said she would come get me, but she never did. Here is where a rescue stepped up to save me... shortly before that fateful day I was to be killed.I was put into boarding and have charmed the pants off the staff and volunteers alike ever since.Being very sweet, and a little on the shy side at first, I build trust over time. The tech who cared for me at the shelter had been working with me since I entered the shelter. I liked and trusted her. She advised no quick movements around me, as I will become very scared and start to tremble. They think I may have been hit in one of my prior homes. Sad, isn't it?The rescue transporter said I did well in the car and was great as they got me settled in at boarding. By moving slowly and ensuring that I am not surprised by what people are doing, the rescue staff were able to build the same kind of trust with me. So, that will be the key to my trust with you too. Give me time to relax and learn you are safe by methodical movement and letting me know what is going on.I'd love it if we could do happy walking times together, super snuggles, and just become total buds. I am a kind soul who will make a fantastic addition to my new family. Energy Level: moderateI get along with:Dogs: yesCats: unknownKids: unknown Fears: quick movementsTraining:Leash skills: some. Please be prepared to continue training.House trained: unknown, as I am living at a boarding facility. Please help me learn.
