Meet Brie!Brie is a 7‑month‑old Cane Corso mix with a fun‑loving personality and tons of happy energy. She's an excited, affectionate girl who's eager to learn. Brie will need a patient guardian who is committed to continuing her training. She is currently working on her leash manners and basic commands. She responds well to positive reinforcement and is happily practicing her sits, stays, lay downs and leave it's. Brie is incredibly dog friendly and does really well with off leash play. She would be great in a home with or without other animals and would prefer an adult only home where she can continue to build her confidence. If you are ready to welcome some puppy playfulness into your life, come and meet this sweetie in person! For young dogs like her, we prioritize in person applications. Adoption hours are 12-3pm, Tuesday-Sunday (closed on Mondays). Primary Color: Brindle Weight: 21.6 Age: 0yrs 7mths 1wks

Good with dogs,
Story
Greetings all. My name is BODHI (Buddy) and below is some info about me:Breed: Cane Corso/Pitbull MixAge: 2-1/2 yrsGender: MaleWeight: 54 lbsHeight: 15”Country of origin: US, New MexicoHighlights: Sweet, loving, charming, shy, anxious Sadly, my current pawrents are unable to keep me. It seems I need someone with me more timewto spend with me than they are able to devote. As time transpires alone, I tend to get more distraught and yes (head hanging), I have destroyed some things. I would do best with a person who works at home or a family that has people around most of the time. I'm really quite the loving boy. A yard would be super, as I need more exercise time than I presently get. Acreage, an extra special bonus. But I can be a real couch potato too.  I am shy when meeting new people, but warm up after a bit. Once I am properly introduced and know a dog, I am usually ok. I get along fine with my doggie housemate. I can be somewhat reactive with strange dogs though. So, I will need someone willing to work through this with me. Though I have grabbed at a couple dogs when out, I didn't cause any damage, which shows this is a very workable issue. It seems to stem more from uncertainty, which is where you come in, to let me know I am safe and you are the one protecting me, not vice versa. Original posting: No brag, here comes a boy who is as sweet and charming as they come, so I am told.My first owner was unable to keep me and so found what she "thought" was a great home for me. Unfortunately, I ended up at the shelter after I escaped the yard of my new home. Probably trying to look for my original person. Sadly, my new owner did not even make an effort to find me or bring me home. My first owner panicked seeing my post and feared I would be euthanized and said she would come get me, but she never did. Here is where a rescue stepped up to save me... shortly before that fateful day I was to be killed.I was put into boarding and have charmed the pants off the staff and volunteers alike ever since.Being very sweet, and a little on the shy side at first, I build trust over time. The tech who cares for me at the shelter had been working with him since I entered the shelter. I like and trust her. She advises no quick movements around me, as I will become very scared and start to tremble. They think I may have been hit in one of my prior homes. Sad, isn't it?The rescue transporter said I did well in the car and was great as they got me settled in at boarding. By moving slowly and ensuring that I is not surprised by what people are doing, the rescue staff have been able to build the same kind of trust with me. So, that will be the key to my trust with you too. Give me time to relax and learn you are safe by methodical movement and letting me know what is going on.I'd love it if we could do happy walking times together, super snuggles, and just become total buds. I am a kind soul who will make a fantastic addition to my new family. Energy Level: moderateI get along with:Dogs: yesCats: unknownKids: unknown Fears: quick movementsTraining:Leash skills: some. Please be prepared to continue training.House trained: unknown, as I am living at a boarding facility. Please help me learn. Health notes:I have been neutered, vaccinated and microchipped. My adoption fee is $750 CAD plus applicable taxes. This includes my transportation to the Canadian border. Disclaimer: It is important for all applicants to visit our website, http://www.lovedatlastdogrescue.ca/adopting/ and read about Loved at Last Dog Rescue. Please Note: LALDR highly encourages adopters to research some local dog trainers before their dog arrives. Although a 1-on-1 trainer is often not needed, it is good to have someone in mind in case any problematic behaviours arise. Most bad behaviours can be modified if caught early enough, so make sure to nip undesirable behaviours in the bud before they become serious problems.Basic training should be taken seriously, but should not begin until your dog is well settled in - at least a couple of weeks. After you feel your new dog is relaxed and comfortable in their new home, check out training courses in your local area. Even basic beginner courses like those taught at a local pet store can have a huge benefit in helping your dog learn to socialize and get used to being in public situations, all with the added benefit of strengthening their bond with you. Normally, we will not approve adoptions to homes with children under 12 years of age. However if a dog has been determined to be good with children we will approve applicants with children 8 years or older. More information can be found on our website. The age and breed of a dog is usually an educated guess, so we are not able to guarantee the accuracy of age or breed of our dogs.Information included in the profile is provided to us from the international rescuer or local fosters. LALDR does not have access to overseas dogs and cannot always verify the accuracy of their descriptions. Every dog is an individual and can act differently in different situations based on the person adopting them and the environment in which they live. ##2638998##

Story
**Bug is available for foster to adopt local to the South Okanagan area while she awaits her spay procedure**Bug is a sweet and gentle girl who has lived a very sheltered life, so the world is still a big, new place for her. She may take a little time to warm up to unfamiliar people and situations, but with patience and understanding, her true personality begins to shine.Once she feels safe, Bug shows her affectionate side in the most endearing way-by turning around and offering her bum for scritches from her trusted humans. It's her special way of asking for love and connection.Bug is looking for a patient and compassionate adopter who is willing to help her build confidence and learn important life skills, including leash walking. With the right guidance and encouragement, she has so much potential to grow. She would greatly benefit from working with an AnimalKind trainer to ensure that both she and her adopters are supported every step of the way and set up for long-term success. If you have a gentle heart and the time to help a shy but loving dog come out of her shell, Bug could be the perfect companion for you. Viewable in Shelter: Yes, in dog kennels. Can get overwhelmed/barrier-reactive if it's been a busy day, so may be made temporarily non-viewable as needed.***Meet Solo!Solo is our resident nervous nelly. He came to us extremely scared of everything, even his own shadow. Staff have worked tirelessly to show him that the world can actually be a fun place. With lots of patience and love, Solo began to trust them and warm up, showing signs of a playful, affectionate personality. He was still nervous about going outside for walks, but after being introduced to other shelter dogs and following them out, he has learned to enjoy being outside. He has even discovered a love for toys and playing.Solo still has a long way to go and will need someone who can continue to be patient and show him the ropes. He would likely do well in a home with another dog. ***Thank you for your interest in adopting! Do you think you could be Solo's person? Apply today!TIP: To aid our team in making the best match possible, applicants are encouraged to write a little bit about themselves when prompted.https://spca.bc.ca/adoption/dog-pre-adoption-questionnaire/The Victoria Center is open for in-person adoption viewings Tuesday through Sunday, 12pm to 4pm, staff and animal well-being permitting.Kitten and puppy meet and greets are by application only. Story
Cora was bought from a breeder in 2023; she is a sweet loving girl who loves attention. She loves to chew on bones and dog chews and needs to have a stuffy or two so she can carry them around. She does have a cherry eye in the left eye, it was a double cherry eye but she had surgery and only one stayed fixed. She is spayed and up to date on all her shots. She doesn't know what a cat is but is good with other dogs and really, really loves people.

Story
Hi lovely Canadians. My name is DEEDI (Dedi) and here is a little info about me:Breed: Labrador Retriever/Cane Corso mixAge: 5 yearsGender: femaleWeight: 38 kg/84lbsCountry of origin: Republic of GeorgiaHighlights: eager to please/learn, easy to train, intelligent, curious, faitful, affectionate, entertaining A nurturing "super-mom" with a heart of gold, ready to shower a big, busy family with endless cuddles. A critical message: Due to instability for rescue teams, I have an urgent need to reach a safe, forever home as soon as possible. Please do not delay my rescue mission!  Abandoned by an owner who couldn't sell my pups, I spent months surviving a cruel neighborhood where I faced electric shocks and threats. Despite the hardship, my loving nature never faded;I cared for my own puppies and even took in other abandoned ones.Since June 2024, I’ve been safe in a shelter, waiting for a real home. I’m a calm dog at heart and a natural nurturer who offers constant affection. While I get a bit excited on walks right now, it’s just because I’ve been confined, once I’m in a routine, my chilled-out self will return. Being intelligent and eager to please makes me a quick learner.A little stubbornness pops up occasionally, but my obedience is strong! Humans are my favorite thing in the world! My ideal home is a busy one with people everywhere, kids, grandmas, and visitors are all welcome. Bigger kids are a better match so I don't accidentally knock anyone over.I just want to love you up and and have you love me back!Additional videos:https://youtube.com/shorts/HQzhqZQYauc, https://youtu.be/EvafMy-pSPQ,  https://youtube.com/shorts/E5zc9kFSpjo?si=JhdWUMH1n160QCVEhttps://youtu.be/YZNP-ndXG1s, https://youtube.com/shorts/TxvPnkawZzc,  https://youtube.com/shorts/X4YZRvj8OzYEnergy Level: moderateI get along with:Dogs: yesCats: noKids: yesFears: none observed.
