Story
Hi lovely Canadians. My name is DEDI and here is a little info about me:Breed: Labrador Retriever/Cane Corso mixAge: 4 years (almost 5)Gender: femaleWeight: 38 kg/84lbsCountry of origin: Republic of GeorgiaHighlight(s): eager to please/learn, easy to train, intelligent, curious, faitful, affectionate, entertaining I’m a truly amazing dog, known for my striking, human-like eyes and a deep loyalty that runs straight to my core. A critical message: Due to instability for rescue teams, I have an urgent need to reach a safe, forever home as soon as possible. Please do not delay my rescue mission!  I have known trauma. I was abandoned on the street by a former owner who couldn't sell the pups, followed by months surviving in a neighborhood where some were kind, but others were cruel (electric shocks, sticks, and threats).Thankfully, a kind rescuer stepped in and moved me to a paid, safe shelter (June 2024). Though conditions aren't great, I am fed and finally safe from harm!My rescuer visits several times a week for attention and walks.Proving my loving nature during those difficult street days meant caring for my own puppies and even taking in other abandoned pups! I am the nurturing type, a devotion that naturally comes with bright eyes, cuddles, and affection.I am truly a calm dog at heart. The current overly excited behavior on walks is purely due to confinement, who wouldn't go a bit crazy within four walls?Once in a home with regular walks, attention, and playtime, the chilled self will return.Being incredibly intelligent, I am quick to learn and eager to please, making training an easy process. Of course, like many clever dogs, a little stubbornness crops up at times, but overall, obedience is strong.Humans are truly my thing! I love them all, big ones, little ones, spending hours playing with neighbor children proves it.I am also friendly with other dogs and enjoy playing with them too. My ideal home is one with people everywhere (kids, grandmas, visiting relatives—all welcome!)Bigger kids are better, to avoid being knocked over by my enthusiasm. Another dog friend? Super! If not, let's go find some canine pals outside.Uh, no kitties, please. LALDR does not have access to overseas dogs and cannot always verify the accuracy of their descriptions. Every dog is an individual and can act differently in different situations based on the person adopting them and the environment in which they live. Please Note: LALDR highly encourages adopters to research some local dog trainers before their dog arrives. Although a 1-on-1 trainer is often not needed, it is good to have someone in mind in case any problematic behaviours arise. Most bad behaviours can be modified if caught early enough, so make sure to nip undesirable behaviours in the bud before they become serious problems.Basic training should be taken seriously, but should not begin until your dog is well settled in - at least a couple of weeks. After you feel your new dog is relaxed and comfortable in their new home, check out training courses in your local area. Even basic beginner courses like those taught at a local pet store can have a huge benefit in helping your dog learn to socialize and get used to being in public situations, all with the added benefit of strengthening their bond with you. While most dogs find escorting passengers flying directly to Vancouver, some will find flights through Toronto or  Montreal. In that case, additional fees will apply to fly your dog to Vancouver by cargo. Unaccompanied cargo costs within Canada range from $350 - $550 depending on the size of the dog. LALDR will be as transparent as possible with you regarding these costs. The age and breed of a dog is usually an educated guess, so we are not able to guarantee the accuracy of age or breed of our dogs. Normally, we will not approve adoptions to homes with children under 12 years of age. However if a dog has been determined to be good with children we will approve applicants with children 8 years or older. More information can be found on our website. [MID-EAST] *Vaccinations: Dogs from the Middle East are vaccinated for rabies, parvo, distemper, leptospirosis, adenovirus type 1 and para-influenza. Bordetella is not given, as that has not been a problem in the Middle East. [TURKEY] *Dogs receive 4D SNAP tests - which include: Heartworm, Ehrlichiosis, Leishmania and Anaplasmosis. ##2151282##

Hello. My name is MEERKAT (Mochi) and below is some info about me:Breed: Anatolian Shepard mixAge: 2-1/2 yearsGender: FemaleWeight: 24 kgHeight: ~ 52 cmCountry of origin: Middle EastHighlights: playful, affectionate, loyal, friendly, toy lover Why meerkat you wonder? Well, not only do I kind of look like one, but I am really playful like one. In fact you could say I am toy obsessed.Sadly I was abandoned on the streets when I was just about two months old. Tragically, at some point early in my life, I was abused and one of my front legs was broken by a cruel individual. My rescuers helped arrange treatment for me, and I recovered well.I continued to live on the streets in their neighborhood for some time and they kept an eye on me whenever they could. Unfortunately, I was later hit by a car, resulting in a serious fracture in my left front leg at the joint. My rescuers once again stepped in and provided surgery and full treatment for me. Now that I am healing well, they are fully committed to ensuring that I never hav to return to the streets. Their goal is to find me a loving family in a safe country, where I can live the peaceful and joyful life every dog deserves.I am quite the friendly girl and absolutely a looker. Aren't I a beauty? I am also very affectionate. Eeeexcept with kitties. I find them a bit too exciting to cuddle. Other dogs are A-ok.Unfortunately, both front elbow joints are likely prone to future arthritis. A pin was inserted into my left elbow during surgery after the accident. At this time, there is no need for any further surgery, and it’s very likely that I will never need another procedure for this issue in the future. It might be good to put me on a supplement now though to avoid any premature arthritic conditions. If you are wanting a loyal pupper who is ready to take on the fun world of Canada, pick me. Hello beautiful people! I am Athena, the goddess of wisdom. Here is some info you need to know about me. Breed: Anatolian Shepherd   Age: 4 yrs   Gender: femaleHeight: 60 cm Weight: 88lbCountry of Origin: Middle EastHighlights: calm, mellow, friendly, food motivated, loyal I’m a three-year-old sweetie who has been living at this shelter since I was just a year old puppy. Yep, you read that right—I’ve been here 2/3 of my whole life, waiting for my forever home. I might be a bit on the chubby side (okay, maybe more than a bit!), but that just means there’s more of me to love!I’m the definition of mellow. I’m not extremely active—running around and chasing things isn’t really my style. I’d much rather find a cozy spot to nap or enjoy a nice snack.I love food—maybe a little too much—but who can blame me? Treats are the best!I’m super friendly and love people. I’ll happily hang out with you, whether you want to go for a leisurely walk or just relax together. And if you’re into cuddling, I’m your perfect match! I’ve got plenty of warmth and affection to share, and I’m always up for snuggling on the couch.I also get along really well with other dogs. I’m not the jealous type; I’m just happy to be part of the pack. So, if you’re looking for a laid-back, cuddle-loving companion who doesn’t need a lot of exercise, I’m your girl! I’ve been waiting patiently for someone to take me home—could it be you? Energy level: moderate to low I get along with:Dogs: yes  Cats: unknown  Kids: unknown Prey Drive: non-observed, however, my adopter needs to be willing to train me should these behaviors rise. Story
Hi there… I’m Tara. Here is some important info you need to know about me: Breed: Anatolian Shepherd mix Age: 2 years 7 months ( d.o.b : 5/23/2023) Gender: female Height: 48 cm Weight: 46 pounds Highlights: loving, independent, loyal, playful I didn’t have the easiest start. When I was just 8 weeks old, I was trying to survive all by myself in a place full of trash and heat. I was so hungry, I tried to eat rocks. I know that sounds awful — it was. You could see all the bones in my little body. Surprisingly, I’m not food, aggressive! Someone kind found me just in time and saved my life. I’ve been living in a kennel ever since — first in one of the hottest cities in the Middle East (it got up to 120°F!), and now in the capital. I’m safe, and I’m so grateful… but I’m also so ready to finally have a home of my own. Now… I am a bit of an escape artist . I’ve got energy and curiosity and sometimes I think the grass might really be greener on the other side of the fence. So, I’ll need a secure yard and someone who can keep an eye on me. A huge bonus though, is that you can leave me at home alone. I don’t mind at all! People have tried to get me to the U.S., but the airlines and CDC rules have made it hard. So now, I’m hoping Vancouver will be my fresh start — my chance to finally be someone’s dog, to feel grass under my paws, and love in my life. I’ve waited a long time. But I’ll keep waiting — if you’ll be the one to come for me. Energy level: moderate Get along with: other dogs, cats, and people and kids  Prey drive: none observed, however, my adopter needs to be willing to train me should these behaviors arise Fears: none observed, however, I will need patience to get used to my new environment.
