Here is a list of things that should help us answer you in a more timely manner. 1. When you apply please always use the same email address. If we need to look something up later and you used a different email we are often not able to find it. 2. Adopt a Pet and Petfinders ask you to send us an enquiry. This always delays our response. (Why) a. Our biographies are always very detailed. Therefore sending an enquiry asking us to repeat what it says in the biography causes a lot more work and delays our response. b. We are a small non-profit and do not always have the help to answer as many enquiries as we get. c. Again our Biographies are very detailed and if you just click the link near the bottom of their bio you can fill out an application which we will respond to. 3. For the AFC website (scroll down to the bio at the bottom it says (apply to adopt today- click that link) www.animalfriendsconnect.org 4. For Petfinders ( scroll down to the biography then click the adoption link) http://animalfriendsconnect.org/adoption-application-dogs/ 5. For Adopt a Pet (scroll way down past “Ask about me”) you will see the biography and underneath that will be the adoption questionnaire link. Story
Meet Mia, a beautiful 4-year-old Cane Corso with a striking jet black fur coat. Mia has spent her entire life outdoors, which has contributed to her timid and fearful nature. She is now looking for a loving home where she can receive the patience, understanding, and care she needs to come out of her shell. Gradual interactions that allow her to build trust at her own pace. Patience, consistency, and a gentle approach will be key in helping Mia overcome her fears and gain confidence. In order to help Mia build trust and form a bond, it is essential to create positive associations with people and new experiences. Using treats, praise, and rewards during interactions will help her associate humans with positive experiences, helping her overcome her fear. Building a routine and providing her with a sense of security and predictability will also help her feel more comfortable in her new home.It is important to note that Mia's journey to becoming a confident and well-adjusted dog may take time, and progress may be slow. However, with love, patience, and a supportive environment, Mia has the potential to blossom into a wonderful companion. Consider enlisting the help of a professional dog trainer or behaviorist experienced in working with fearful dogs to assist you in Mia's journey. If you are someone who can offer Mia a patient, understanding, and loving home, you will have the opportunity to witness the transformation of a scared dog into a confident and contented companion. Mia's journey may not always be easy, but the reward of seeing her overcome her fears and flourish will be immeasurable.I lived with dogs in my previous home but may be selective with your dog.I lived with cats in my previous home but may be selective with your cat.I lived with kids in my previous home but may be selective with your kids.If you are interested in this specific animal, please come to the shelter for walk-in adoptions Tuesday through Saturday from 10:30am to 5:30pm. We recommend coming in as early as possible, as adoptions are first-come, first-served.

Story
Rehoming our lovable, sweet brindle Cane Corso Marble. He is super smart and cuddly. Marble is well trained and will leash walk without pulling. He is crate trained, has all his shots and is fixed. Marble is extremely good with other dogs and has been to the dog park regularly. He has grown up with a five year old and is very good with children. We have a cat who he is curious about, but they haven't really learned to love each other, mostly because the cat was here first. We have two crates; one steel and one travel crate for free, dog bowls, dog food, leashes, and some other stuff. Please give him a good home!
