Story
We are looking to rehome our 1 year old cane corso. Echo has been with us for about 8-9 months. We took her in after someone offered her up to us at a gas station for free. She was very malnourished. We knew she would have a better life with us. Within 2 months we were able to get her from just 50LBS to a healthy 84LBS. Echo loves hiking, swiming and all the dog parks. She does have to be in her crate when we are not at home, due to her chewing up anything she can reach. Additionally she needs to eat meals in her crate because she has food aggression towards our senior German shepherd. We love her and are still taking great care of her, but we need to rehome her. We're not home enough to give her the attention she needs. She spends 12 hours everyday in her crate due to our work schedules. She is stressing out our 10 year old german shepherd too. Her crazy energy requires space to run. like a very large fenced in yard. And someone that can give her much more un-crated attention.

Story
Meet Gadgi! Gadgi is a lovable Cane Corso mix with a heart as big as he is. From the moment you meet him, you’ll see just how much he adores people — he leans his whole weight into anyone willing to give him attention, as if to say, “I’m yours!” He’s a dog who loves deeply and isn’t shy about showing it.This handsome boy has plenty of energy and is happiest when he has room to run, play, and explore. A big backyard would be a dream come true for him, and he’d thrive with a family that enjoys being active. He would do best in a home with kids 8 and older, especially one that wants a fun, goofy companion to join them on walks, hikes, and outdoor adventures.Gadgi is good with other dogs but a bit too much for cats. He’s also just as content being the center of attention with his people — especially if it means extra snuggles and leaning his giant self right into your lap.Gadgi was recently adopted and then returned due to counter‑surfing. He’s a smart, curious boy, so a family willing to work on training or one that can block off the kitchen would be the best fit for him. With consistency and structure, he’ll learn quickly. At the end of the day, Gadgi is a loyal, gentle soul who wants nothing more than to be part of a family. If you’re looking for a dog who will keep you laughing, keep you active, and keep you surrounded with love, Gadgi is the one. He’s ready to lean right into your heart and stay there. Please note: All of our animals are spayed/neutered and up to date on age-appropriate vaccinations. Each pet also receives a behavioral assessment to help us better understand the type of home they may thrive in. However, it’s important to remember that the results may not fully reflect an animal’s true personality, as shelter and foster environments can be stressful. If you are interested in meeting any of our animals, we encourage you to first visit our website and submit an adoption application: https://www.acskc.org/adopt-1Once your adoption application has been approved, we will call you to set up an appointment to meet with the pet! We welcome adopters from out of state to apply! _When it comes to our pets, we're all-inclusive! Story
MARVEL is a 5 yr old Italian Mastiff (Cane Corso) who came to us after she became protective of her family in their home. Marvel is a victim of Covid-19. With the shelter in place order, her family was not able to properly socialize her and she grew up as a “big fish in a little pond”. Her family had many special needs children and medical care professionals needed to visit the home during the pandemic. They arrived wearing masks and Marvel thought that was very scary and began to protect the children from these masked strangers. The family called in a trainer but, due to the circumstances, everything was a little overwhelming for them. We acquired her on the day she was to be euthanized. Marvel has been fine with us. With a handful of treats she warms up quickly to our volunteers. We did have one incident with an unannounced visitor who approached her quickly and the result was a bite. In a home she may revert to her protectiveness so we are looking for a family with Cane Corso experience - walking the line between socialization and keeping her safe. Cane Corsos were originally war dogs during the Roman empire and used for protection - it is ingrained in their DNA. They have also been used for drafting and droving cattle – IE they need a job to do. Just sitting around the house twiddling their thumbs is a recipe for disaster which is what got Marvel into the situation in the first place. We have paired Marvel with playful young male dogs and they do well together with supervision (Marvel tends to play rough and takes the upper hand). We feel that she could work out in a home with a well-adjusted male dog to show her appropriate dog behavior or as an only pup. Not cat compatible. Marvel can fly over a 4 foot fence so 6 foot privacy fencing is ideal. If you are the home that we are looking for, please fill out an application at www.CompAnimals.org. Marvel is spayed, vaccinated, microchipped and heartworm negative. Adoption $300.March 7, 2026, 5:36 pm

Miracle is playful, curious, and easily excitable. Calm, consistent handling and care are recommended. Because she is a guard dog, she may be alert or protective around unfamiliar people, visitors, children, or other animals in her own space. Miracle does well with other dogs and human interaction in public spaces. At night, Miracle may stay awake until you settle down. Once settled, she will generally settle and lie down as well. I am looking for a loving home for my sweet girl. I am unable to keep her due to landlord restrictions.

Courtesy post....Help Needed – Loving Home Wanted for My Mom’s Dog, Blaze My name is Casey, and I’m hoping to find a caring home for my mom’s dog, Blaze. Blaze is a 6-year-old Cane Corso/American Bully mix who has been part of our family since he was a puppy. My mom passed away a few months ago, and since then, I’ve been trying to make sure Blaze is cared for while figuring out a long-term plan for him. Unfortunately, due to housing restrictions, I’m not able to keep him myself, and I want to make sure he lands somewhere safe and stable. This is a very difficult decision, but my main priority is giving Blaze the best chance at a happy and secure future with a family who can fully welcome him. Blaze is a big, affectionate boy—around 100 pounds—but he is truly a gentle soul. He is wonderful with children and does well with other dogs. His experience with cats is unknown at this time. He is neutered and believed to be up to date on vaccinations. He is extremely loving and people-oriented, and he doesn’t quite realize his size—he happily believes he’s a lap dog and loves to snuggle close to his people whenever he can. Blaze is also intelligent and knows several basic commands including sit, stay, come, lay down, and paw. He has a few unique traits that make him even more special. Blaze was born without a tail and has an adorable underbite that always makes people smile. More than anything, Blaze just wants to be near his people and feel like part of a family. He would do best in a home where he can get plenty of attention, affection, and stability. If you or someone you know may be able to give Blaze the loving home he deserves, please reach out.
