Story
MARVEL is a 5 yr old Italian Mastiff (Cane Corso) who came to us after she became protective of her family in their home. Marvel is a victim of Covid-19. With the shelter in place order, her family was not able to properly socialize her and she grew up as a “big fish in a little pond”. Her family had many special needs children and medical care professionals needed to visit the home during the pandemic. They arrived wearing masks and Marvel thought that was very scary and began to protect the children from these masked strangers. The family called in a trainer but, due to the circumstances, everything was a little overwhelming for them. We acquired her on the day she was to be euthanized. Marvel has been fine with us. With a handful of treats she warms up quickly to our volunteers. We did have one incident with an unannounced visitor who approached her quickly and the result was a bite. In a home she may revert to her protectiveness so we are looking for a family with Cane Corso experience - walking the line between socialization and keeping her safe. Cane Corsos were originally war dogs during the Roman empire and used for protection - it is ingrained in their DNA. They have also been used for drafting and droving cattle – IE they need a job to do. Just sitting around the house twiddling their thumbs is a recipe for disaster which is what got Marvel into the situation in the first place. We have paired Marvel with playful young male dogs and they do well together with supervision (Marvel tends to play rough and takes the upper hand). We feel that she could work out in a home with a well-adjusted male dog to show her appropriate dog behavior or as an only pup. Not cat compatible. Marvel can fly over a 4 foot fence so 6 foot privacy fencing is ideal. If you are the home that we are looking for, please fill out an application at www.CompAnimals.org. Pepper Anne is a 2 year old cane corso. She is sweet and very close to me. She needs a home where she can have company and attention often though she does not need it all the time. She is very protective and loving. She likes to cuddle and hug and also loves to run around outside with other dog friends at the park.

Story
Queenie was given to me as a puppy from a friend. Queenie is 1yr and l2 months old. I would love for Queenie to be placed in a good home where I know she will be loved and cared for. Queenie is good dog, very smart and listens very well. Queenie requires time and space and activity which I can't give her. I will be having surgery on my arm in a few weeks and won't be able to care for her.

Big Lola is a big-hearted girl with an even bigger love for people! This incredibly sweet and affectionate pup greets everyone with tail wags, sniffs, and a happy flop for belly rubs, making fast friends wherever she goes. She’s lived peacefully with children and a cat, enjoys playtime with other dogs, and has a calm, relaxed demeanor at home where she settles nicely in her crate and rests when left alone. Big Lola knows basic commands like sit, down, stay, and “get in the cage,” and she’s cooperative for baths, nail trims, and vet visits. On walks she is very strong and can get a bit jumpy and excited, especially when she spots something interesting, but she loves getting out for leash walks, park time, and chasing her favorite ball. Moderately active and wonderfully loving, Big Lola is a loyal, playful companion who thrives on attention, affection, and spending time with her people.

Story
London was saved from the kill shelter at the last minute. She been fostered back to health over the last year. She's been tested around dogs, cats, birds, kids and strangers. Like a typical corso, she's suspicious of new people at first, but atypically she accepts them quickly. She deserves a loving home. She does have allergies, but is well maintained with an occasional bath and cytopoint injection.
