Story
Chicago (A570562) is a sweet boy with a gentle nature and easy leash manners. He enjoys getting out and spending time with people, making walks a breeze. Chicago has a few bumps on his head, but they don’t seem to bother him at all. He was happy to explore, soak up attention, and show off his calm personality. If you’re looking for an easygoing companion with a heart of gold, Chicago is ready to meet you. ????https://www.instagram.com/reel/DZwAuWyO3eD/?igsh=cHdxMXY1M3l1eTB0

DISCLOSURE: The adoptable pets in our program are still in the care and custody of owners who wish to re-home their pet. Owners have enlisted Rescue Well to provide marketing and screening of applicants as a service, free of charge. All fees and adoption conditions are determined by the owner. We advise that adopters do not send payment or deposits for pets prior to adopting.  ***** Diesel Coal is of cane corso/lab/pit mix, is 5yo, weighs 77lbs, is neutered, is microchipped, but is not up to date on his vaccines.  Diesel Coal's guardian adds:  "He is such a loving boy who wants only love and to be able to trust in someone who won't hurt him.  He is alone at home 10-12 hours/day, is crated during the day and night, dislikes/fears the vacuum and other dogs, and is active but great during car rides.  I try healthy foods such as Pure Balance at Wal-Mart."   Diesel Coal's guardian explains why she has made the difficult decision to rehome him:  His guardian recently experienced an abrupt and unexpected housing situation and the premises in which she currently safely/securely lives doesn't offer enough space for his comfort. Diesel Coal's guardian states the following regarding children:  Diesel Coal lives with children (starting at age 6 and up and are currently 13 and 11yo), so his guardian recommends his living with children, stating "Loves to be petted by kids and play games of chase with a ball, not much of a fetcher". Diesel Coal's guardian states the following regarding dogs:  Diesel Coal hasn't lived with dogs, so his guardian doesn't recommend his living with dogs, stating "He will sometimes whine and growl". Diesel Coal's guardian states the following regarding cats:  Although Diesel Coal lives with a cat, his guardian doesn't recommend his living with cats, stating "He likes our cat, but she doesn't like him..lol..he boops her with his nose, paws her to play or chases her".  Diesel Coal's guardian describes him as: Very active Playful Affectionate Independent Protective House-Trained Crate-Trained Likes men Likes women Diesel Coal's guardian describes his ideal future home:  "Diesel Coal would best go to a family who will love him unconditionally be patient and able to train him better.  Maybe a couple or older kids as he still is a big guy and can knock over small kiddos." Story
Meet Lugnut — a 1‑year‑old Cane Corso with the heart of a gentle giant and the soul of a dog who’s clearly known love. Lugnut came to us as a stray, but from the moment we met him, it was obvious he had been cared for at some point in his life. He leans into people with his whole body, seeking closeness and comfort, and he has that classic Cane Corso softness that shines through despite his impressive size.If you’re looking for a big, affectionate dog who wants nothing more than to lean all his weight against you and soak up attention, Lugnut is your guy. He’s calm, sweet, and incredibly people‑oriented. His size can be intimidating to other dogs, but he passed his dog test and showed appropriate behavior — he just may need slow introductions with dogs who aren’t overwhelmed by a large breed.Lugnut also did well during his cat test. He remained gentle and curious until one of the cats tried to smack him, which startled him. A confident cat who is used to large dogs would be an ideal match for him.He does have some resource guarding when pushed, so he’s looking for a home with children 10 and older who can respect his boundaries and help him feel safe. With structure, patience, and understanding, Lugnut will thrive — he’s already shown how loving and steady he can be.Lugnut is ready for a family who appreciates big dogs with even bigger hearts. If you want a loyal companion who will lean into you, follow you around, and offer gentle affection every day, this sweet giant is waiting to meet you.Lagnut's adoption fee is $175, which helps support their medical care and preparation for adoption. Please note: All of our animals are spayed/neutered and up to date on age-appropriate vaccinations. Each pet also receives a behavioral assessment to help us better understand the type of home they may thrive in. However, it’s important to remember that the results may not fully reflect an animal’s true personality, as shelter and foster environments can be stressful. If you are interested in meeting any of our animals, we encourage you to first visit our website and submit an adoption application: https://www.acskc.org/adopt-1Once your adoption application has been approved, we will call you to set up an appointment to meet with the pet! We welcome adopters from out of state to apply! _When it comes to our pets, we're all-inclusive! Story
Hi this is Guardian, he is a very good boy, listens well, knows commands like sit, stay, lay, down, no, wait, and chicken lol He loves raw chicken. He is also trained to wait until I say eat to touch his food. I have been working with him and training him since he was 6 months. Always giving him a lot of attention, I really don’t want to re home him but my grandma passed away unexpectedly and mentally he needs someone that can give him the care, love and attention that he needs while I’m grieving. He needs to be updated on his shots, he is also shy, he is a very loving dog, loves to cuddle, play, he needs someone who will love him unconditionally, and I am brave enough to say during this time of loosing someone so close to me, that I need all of the help I can get, thank you
