Story
As a rescue, We do not euthanize dogs but dogs that are listed as URGENT are still waiting to be saved from animal control and they do euthanize. We can only save them when space is available or have an adopter. Vader is a gentle giant, older at 8 years he’s great with other dogs and just the most gentle sweet boy. He’s heart worm positive which would need to be treated before he could go to a forever home, this takes about 2 months but there is no extra charge for this. He’s big, black, older and heart worm positive, the odds are stacked against him, but to loose this sweet soul would be awful. Adopt him?

Story
Maverick is a 5 year old cane corso. I got him as a puppy and trained him myself as best as I could. He is still an energetic adult and likes to be outside exploring. He is really friendly and good with kids and other animals but needs to be watched because he doesn't know his own size. He is afraid of bikes/ skateboards/ and scooters. He can be tough to handle on a leash so definitely needs an experienced owner.

Story
Go big or go home is the MO for our boy Dug. Dug is a 2-year-old Cane Corso Mastiff at the hefty weight of 90 pounds. Along with his large size, Dug has a large heart with a large capacity to love. Dug came into rescue under unfortunate circumstances as he was found as a stray and injured. Luckily, he received the medical care that he needed and is now on the mend. We do know that he is a very friendly boy with lots of charm. He has not been introduced to cats or children since coming into rescue. What we do see is lots of potential for Dug to be an awesome canine companion. Now fully recovered, Dug would love to have the typical family life of a well loved and cared for canine. He envisions himself in countless scenarios of days basking in the sun, running around in the back yard and lots of cuddles on the sofa. Being with his family is super important to him. Dug has a medium energy level and will do well with a fairly active family. Regular exercise, continued training, and socialization will be the winning combination for Dug to have the ideal life.Dug is working on his leash training. He is putting in the effort and will look to his family to help him along the way. He has already mastered his house and crate training. Although Dug is housetrained, it is important to remember that accidents can occur while adjusting to a new home environment. Bring home the love of Dug for a lifetime of love and happiness that only Dug can offer. * When considering adoption, keep in mind that dogs thrive on structure and routine. They adjust much better when their owners are committed to providing consistency and stability. The adoption fee for Dug is $500. That includes the cost of spaying/neutering, up to date vaccinations, foster care, rescue and transportation fees. To get the ball rolling, head over to our Adoption Application and submit your application today. A Dog Star representative will contact you within 24 hours. To speed up the process, contact your vet and give them permission to speak with us.If you do not get a response within 24 hours, check your spam folder.March 2, 2026, 6:07 am

Say hello to the handsome Apollo! He and his two sisters were dumped in a wooded area where a very kind woman found them and brought them into rescue. Apollo is the definition of a lover. This sweet boy will be a gentle giant. He enjoys being cuddled and loved on and can't get enough belly rubs! He hasn't come across a bone or treat he doesn't like. He also really enjoys having doggy companions. Apollo is kennel trained and working hard on his potty training. He will be neutered, microchipped, vaccinated, and on a monthly heartworm/flea/tick preventive. Due to his size, he would be best in a home with no children under 6. If your home could use some plus sized love, Apollo is the boy for you! Due to his breed and age, there will be additional requirements in the application review process.

Story
This gorgeous girl is Rhea, the Cane Corso mix. At 12 weeks old, she was 25 pounds so she is going to be a big girl! Rhea loves to be outside and play in the backyard with her doggy friends. When she is all tuckered out, she will put herself to sleep in her kennel. Rhea gets along great with other dogs. She is vocal and will let you know when she is unhappy, which is usually when she's tired or hungry, and she will notify you when there are strangers nearby. Hooves, duck feet, and bones are her favorite, along with any toy that squeaks or crunches. And watch your cardboard boxes, because she loves those too! She has recently discovered water and likes to wade and blow bubbles in her kiddie pool. Rhea is kennel trained and working hard on her potty training. She will be spayed, microchipped, vaccinated, and on a monthly heartworm/flea/tick preventive. Due to her size, she would be best in a home with no children under 6. If you're ready to welcome a big, loving, loyal baby into your home, Rhea is the one for you! Due to her breed and age, there will be additional requirements in the application review process.

Story
*UTD/MICROCHIPPED/ ON MONTHLY FLEA AND TICK AND HEARTWORM PILL/SPAYED *good with cats *no kids under 12 ( she is very fast when she runs) *non- reactive dogs are best to pair her with *loves chew toys and tennis balls!! On Feb 08, 2024, Beauty was found wandering all alone in Sweetwater, TN near the dump by a Good Samaritan who posted on Facebook in a lost and found group but no one came forward to claim her. :( Our animal control officer, reached out to us for help with this situation and connected us with the finder. At the time, the Monroe County shelter was over capacity and euthanizing on intake. When she arrived at woofwoof fosters it appeared something strange was going on with her eyes. Turns out, she had a condition called Entropion which caused her eyelashes/eyelids to grow inwards! We scheduled her for surgery ASAP as this can lead to blindness if left untreated! Beauty has since recovered from surgery and is now ready for adoption! We have dog tested Beauty at our dog trainers place in Athens, TN and found out that she is good with non-reactive dogs ( we have been pairing her up with non- reactive dogs at our rescue for play) .She would do best in a home without young children as she has a LOT of energy, young kids could unknowingly get in her way. She loves to run and play and will require mental stimulation in her new home as well as frequent physical stimulation. We think some simple scent trail training or possibly snuffle mats may help meet her needs as she has a curious snout! Her most favorite toy is a tennis ball! if you have two, that would be great or else you WILL go through ALOT of them because she will chew them up right away! We are teaching her to bring it and leave it and wait for us to toss her second ball. sometimes, we will work with her on just one ball....but that is a lot more work vs having a second one ready haha! We do believe she is house broken as she has not made any messes in our home or the dog building. **We do offer foster to adopt to do a trail run** ( PLEASE ASK US FOR MORE INFORMATION AS WE TAILOR TO YOUR NEEDS/ REQUESTS AS NEEDED, THE BEST WE CAN) If you have any questions, please feel free to get ahold of us through here, or through our website at www.woofwooffosters.org . Thank you, woofwoof fosters -team This animal is being fostered in the South but transport to a location near you is included in your adoption fee. We use Rescue Riders Pet Transport, (www.rescueridersllc.net), the most animal-friendly transport on the road.
