Story
This is Kevin. He is 2 years old. He is a Cane Corso. He is black/brindle. He is 96lbs. His tail was docked when he was found. He is up to date on most shots, he isn’t a fan of the vet and got upset the last time we took him (December) and would need to be sedated (I have medication). He is chipped and gets treated for heartworm using Nexguard plus. We tried to crate him and he is a dog Houdini, he will slither his body underneath the crate and slip out while keeping the crate in tact. He is trained to go outside to use the bathroom, he knows basic commands and listens when called. Kevin was found wandering the streets of Detroit. He is very sweet, he is friendly to other people including small children and dogs, his bark is loud and intimidating but he isn’t aggressive. He loves food and scratches. He has a nightly routine. He dislikes the bath, the vet, fireworks, thunder and getting in the car. His favorite toy is a ball. He is food driven.

Story
Zara is full of love and LOTS of energy. She enjoy walks, car rides, toys, chasing friends and a lot more. Zara is 2 years old but still thinks she’s a little puppy. She’s just a baby in a HUGE pup body. Zara loves being affectionate and loves snuggles. Zara is house trained and listen well to commands. She’s great around children. She likes playing fetch and she loves a big backyard to run around in. Zara is looking for a lovable home with lots of attention. Zara can be trusted to be alone in home but gets bored sometimes, music or a TV show will help her relax if she’s home alone for a couple hours. Have another pet? Zara is great with other pets . She loves playing.

Story
Milli is a 2 year old Cane Corso with a big heart. She loves people and has high energy. She loves to have treats to play with then eat, play with toys, and car rides. Her favorite thing to do is cuddle with her human and have belly rubs. She is a chewer, so she will have to be watched with things she would like to chew. Her only requirement is she cannot go with dogs, cats, or small children. She is high energy and is not friendly with other animals. I am starting a travel job in a week and need a home for her that can give her the attention that she needs.

We do our best to provide information that will help determine if the animal might be a good fit for you. Please note that behaviors may change in a home environment. We also ask our applicants to assume that any animal they adopt from us will need to be potty-trained and learn house manners, although this is not always the case. In most cases, the listed breeds are also a best guess. Our online animal bios are designed to provide as much information as possible and answer some anticipated questions. We do not have the resources to respond to emails with more specific questions. We are receiving an unusually high number of applications at this time! Applications are reviewed as they are received, but we do not select adopters on a first-come basis. Our job is to ensure each pet is placed into the best fit home for them and that adopters are paired with an animal that is a good fit for their lifestyle. All animals will stay online until they are “pending adoption”. Therefore, if an animal is still listed, we are still accepting applications for him/her! Please do not send inquiries about a specific animal's availability as this can change quickly over the course of the day. The fastest way to get a response is to simply submit an application! We will do our best to notify you by email if the pet(s) you are interested in are no longer available. New animals are posted daily, so please let us know if another furry friend peaks your interest (there is no need to fill out a second application)! Fill out the application completely. Every question must be answered, and it must be signed.-Applicants must be 21+ years old and live within a 100-mile radius of our shelter at 22415 Groesbeck Hwy, Warren 48089.-You must identify at least 1 animal that you are interested in.-Once your application is received, it will be assigned to one of our volunteer Adoption Counselors who will follow-up with the applicant who is the best fit within a few days, or to discuss other options. It could take up to a couple of weeks for you to receive a final disposition on your application so there is no need to check on the status.-Introductions will be scheduled by appointment only, 30 minutes per appointment. The entire household, including current dogs, must be present for the appointment. (Note: Please do not bring your dogs if you are meeting cats!). The introductions will take place outside in our parking lot (or in our cat room if you're meeting cats).-We will perform vet checks for current and prior pets in the household.-Finalizing the adoption will also be scheduled by appointment.Thank you for your understanding.
