She was rescued from a home where the neglect and abuse were so severe that animal control had to step in. Instead of immediately getting her fresh start, Mazie then spent over a YEAR of her life in a shelter as “evidence” for a court case. A year of waiting. A year without a couch. A year without a family of her own. And somehow… she still chooses joy.
