Story
Hi all! I’m Toaster! My friends call me Toast for short. I’m not really sure how I got my name. Although the more that I think about it, maybe it’s because when you meet me, I will make your heart all warm and toasty? Yes, I think maybe that HAS to be it! Mystery solved! Although since I solve mysteries so well, maybe I should have been named Scooby Doo! Anyhow, before I get distracted, let me tell you some things about me. I’m about 5 years old and they think I’m a mastiff or Cane Corso mix. So I’m kind of a big guy! But that doesn’t mean I have a big head! I mean, PHYSICALLY I do have a big head. What I mean is I don’t have a big head like a big ego. Gosh, sometimes it’s difficult to communicate in human. Really, I’m just a happy guy, who is extremely curious about new things. I love going on walks and checking everything out with my nose. I really love checking out storm drains and sewers. I mean, you never know what might be living in them! I seem to like to meet new people on my walks, too. I usually walk quite nicely on the leash unless I see something I really want to check out, and then I forget not to pull. It’s hard to remember to walk nicely when you seek something really interesting! But I’m more than happy to work on my leash manners a bit. I absolutely love riding in the car, and I am VERY well behaved riding in the car. I also love to play with toys like tennis balls and stuffies. I will admit, I sometimes think I’m the size of a puppy and I often get bouncy like a puppy! And I’ve been known to do zoomies when I get really excited. It seems to make everyone laugh. And I sure like making people laugh. I’ve been known to give big slurpy kisses and to “hug” people when I think they need it. So I hope you like kisses and hugs. I like when humans pet me, but I much prefer booty scratches to head scratches. (I’ll let you in on a little secret; many dogs prefer that!) I think there’s almost nothing as good as a good booty scratch. Except maybe car rides. I’m pretty good at sitting when asked, and I’m learning new things. I just haven’t had a whole lot of training with such requests, but I am receiving some now and I love to learn! Especially when learning is accompanied by some tasty treats! I am NOT a fan of cats. Well, I mean I AM a fan of CHASING cats, but that activity seems to be frowned upon. So I need a home without cats. In fact, I'd like to be your one and only pet, if you don't mind. If you are interested in making your heart feel all Toasty, or want to find out more about me, please call/text The Pet Connection at 913-671-7387.

Story
Maybe you can help us solve a little mystery: Why hasn’t Scrappy Doo had any serious applications in almost a year? Let's unmask the mystery, like Scrappy's namesake cartoon, and turn this puzzle into a satisfactory ending for our guy. Scrappy Doo is a happy, playful, social dude who likes everyone he meets – human or dog. He is good with kids, and he is fun and pretty adorable with that charming smile of his. He is about 3 years old, weighs just under 60 lbs. and is a Pittie/Mastiff Cane Corso mix. He came into foster because someone witnessed one of his previous people physically hurting our sweet guy. In spite of how he was treated, Scrappy sees the best in people and is one of those triumphant spirits who has his compass firmly pointed in the direction of living his best life and never looking back. He has the most endearing bow legs, and his ears make different decisions every day about which way to point. He loves his toys and his friends, and just wants to have a good time. After playtime, he likes to cuddle up with his people and snuggle right in. He likes to play and mix it up with other dogs, and he definitely gets along with all of them. Recently we’ve discovered that some of his previous mistreatment may have physically affected him more than we realized. So, he should live with a dog(s) who he can banter with but maybe not play too rough and tumble, so he doesn’t get hurt. Or, he’d do great as an only dog too, so you can dote on him every day. He is house trained and crate trained and knows how to behave around the house, like every good sidekick should. None of those clues above have helped us understand why Scrappy has lingered in foster for this long – what do you think? He’s just a regular guy looking for a regular furever home where he’ll be appreciated for the rest of his life. Is that your home? Scrappy Doo is neutered, microchipped, vaccinated and current on heartworm preventative and flea/tick prevention. His adoption fee is $175. To meet him, apply to adopt at PawsitiveTailsKC.org. 🖤🤎❤️🧡💛💚💙💜🤍💜💙💚💛🧡❤️🤎🖤 APPLY @ PawsitiveTailsKC.org 🖤🤎❤️🧡💛💚💙💜🤍💜💙💚💛🧡❤️🤎🖤

DOB: 12/11/25                           Current Weight(as of 04/22/26) 40.2 lbs. Adoption Fee: $275 includes 1 week trial to ensure everyone's happiness. Gidget has weighed in at over 40 lbs. at 4 months old! She is going to be a extra large girl when fully grown. She is beautiful in person and get fur is so soft.  Gidget has a bit more confidence then her other siblings when meeting new people. She will come up to you, sit, and extends her paw like she either wants to shake or high five. With more practice she will master both of them. Gidget loves the kiddies pool. Sitting in the middle of it is her favorite thing to do. She loves all toys especially the rope type and soft squeaky ones. It's so cute to watch her try to steal toys from her siblings. Gidget is just like her sisters when it comes to meeting dogs her size or bigger. She is very submissive until she knows they are friendly. Then the chasing begins.  We have started taking her on walks wearing a harness and so far, so good. We will send her home with a harness, collar and leash. You will also have a one week trial period to be sure she is a good fit for your family. Great Pyrenees have a gentle, playful temperament and she seems to be following those traits. Get your application in soon to take home this beautiful pup!  The “G” puppies are a litter of seven sweet sisters, born on December 11, 2025. These girls are Great Pyrenees / Anatolian Shepherd mixes, which means they’re expected to grow into very large dogs with gentle hearts and loyal personalities. All of the puppies are inside dogs and have been raised with love and care. They are sweet-natured, playful, and affectionate, enjoying both puppy playtime and human attention. True to their guardian-breed roots, they are curious and confident, with a natural tendency to explore. Because Great Pyrenees and Anatolian Shepherds are known for roaming, we are looking for homes with a secure, fenced yard to keep these sweet girls safe and happy. They will thrive with families who understand large breeds and are committed to providing structure, training, and plenty of love as they grow. If you’re ready to welcome a loyal, loving companion who will grow into a magnificent dog, one of the “G” puppies may be the perfect fit for your family. Puppies are NOT housebroken and should not be expected to wait more than 1 hour for each month of age to go out to potty. Please make sure that you have a “potty plan” in place if considering adoption. All of our puppies have been spay/neuter, wormed, microchipped, and given age appropriate vaccinations. If you are interested in meeting/adopting one of them just fill out a application at www.furrykidsrefuge.org, click on the 'Adopt A Dog' icon and a dedicated volunteer will be in touch.  Furry Kids' Refuge is in need of good quality dog and puppy food with meat as the first ingredient.  You can drop off donations at our weekly adoption events at the Lee's Summit Petco (1860 NW Chipman Road, Lee's Summit, MO), Saturdays only from 11am to 2:00 p.m.  Donations are tax deductible as allowed by law.  Would you like to foster a Furry Kid? Furry Kids' Refuge will supply the food & vet care while you supply the basic house rules & love.......win-win for all!!  Just visit our website http://www.furrykidsrefuge.org/category/fostering/  for more information. Thanks for your support!
