Parker is an amazing dog. This is the hardest thing I’ve ever had to do. If Parker goes to a loving home, he will love you back 10 fold. He needs a lot of love and attention. He loves to run and play and loves treats and is extremely food motivated. He has a bad background as he is a rescue. He takes time to get comfortable around new people and we are not ready to have him in close proximity of other dogs. He will do well with a lovely person or couple that can let him explore the outdoors and cuddle him. He loves going to walking trails and splashing in the water.

Story
If you’re looking for a hilarious and playful addition to your family then I’m your girl! I love toys and running around in the yard! I’m an absolute cuddlebug with a goofy personality to keep you on your toes. I talk back to you sometimes, but I promise it’s adorable! I’m very vocal ! I am obsessed with my foster brothers and sisters and don’t like being away from them, so I definitely want a fur sibling playmate. I am crate-trained, but do not love it unless my foster siblings are close by to keep me company! I am such a smart girl and go to the back door to let my foster mama know I need to potty! I have long lanky legs that I haven’t fully grown into yet, so I’m funny to watch flop around while I play! ***PLEASE NOTE*** This pup has not yet been altered and requires an extra $100 spay/neuter deposit. JCAPL will pay for the procedure at a partner clinic and once completed, the deposit will be refunded to the adopter. However, a non-local adopter is required to pay for the spay/neuter at their own veterinarian by a specific date. After proof of the procedure is provided, $50 of the adoption fee will be refunded with the deposit. *** Are you interested in adopting this dog or another JCAPL pet you have seen? You'll need to start by completing an adoption application, available online at our website: www.jcapl.org. There is no obligation to adopt by completing an application, however, we do recommend submitting an application as soon as you find an animal you are interested in. We review applications in the order they are received. Completed applications can be submitted online, or sent via email to adopt@jcapl.org, or faxed to 919-300-5524. We will contact you as soon as possible once we receive your application. *** Thanks for thinking adoption! ***

Story
We named him Monty after a character from The 100—sweet, loyal, and gentle—which fits him perfectly. We got Monty on October 6, 2024, and he has been an amazing family dog. He is extremely tolerant and gentle, even letting our baby sit on his face without reacting. He loves cuddles, running, balls, and playtime, but he is very gentle when taking food or treats from our hands. Monty is energetic and stubborn sometimes. He pulls on the leash and will dash out doors, so he needs a fenced yard. Loud and large vehicles scare him. He has been on 4Health Sensitive Skin food since we got him and does well with it. He is crate-trained, calm when left alone, does well at boarding, and travels well with potty breaks. We are only putting him up for adoption because of an upcoming Army move that won’t allow us to transport him due to his size. He is a wonderful dog who needs space and an open yard so he can run and play free.
