Story
Meet Izzy!If you`re looking for a sweet, playful, people-loving girl with a whole lot of personality, allow us to introduce you to Miss Izzy!Izzy originally came to us as a stray, and while we don`t know much about her life before arriving at FMAR, we`ve certainly enjoyed getting to know the wonderful girl she is today!Izzy is an incredibly friendly, affectionate, and social dog who absolutely LOVES spending time with people. Whether she`s heading out for a walk, enjoying some one-on-one attention, or simply hanging out with her favorite humans, she`s just happy to be included. She`s got a fun, playful personality and plenty of love to share with whoever is lucky enough to call her family. And if you`re looking for a way to win this girl`s heart? Treats are definitely a good place to start!Izzy is wonderfully treat motivated and takes treats SO gently. She`s already familiar with the command `sit` and is happy to show off her manners, especially when there`s a tasty reward involved. She`s a great candidate for continued positive reinforcement training, and we think she`d have a blast building a relationship with her future family through learning new things together. What about other dogs?During her time at the shelter, Izzy has shown us some promising behavior around other dogs. When passing calm dogs, she generally remains calm herself and doesn`t seem particularly bothered by their presence. However, if another dog becomes reactive or overly excited, Izzy may eventually mirror that energy. This doesn`t necessarily mean she can`t enjoy the company of other dogs! It simply means that thoughtful introductions, appropriate spacing, and continued guidance will be important. We think she may even be a great candidate for group walks with other dogs, and we`re excited to continue learning more about her social preferences.More than anything, Izzy seems like the kind of dog who just wants to be part of the action. She`s sweet, playful, affectionate, and has so much potential to become a wonderful companion for someone willing to give her the love, attention, and continued guidance she deserves.Izzy may have arrived at FMAR without a family to call her own, but we`re hoping her next chapter is filled with everything a girl like her could ask for: adventures, companionship, plenty of treats, and humans who love her just as much as she`ll love them.If you`re ready for a fun-loving sweetheart with a big heart and an even bigger personality, come meet Miss Izzy!Interested in adopting me?I`d love to meet you! She is spayed, up to date on all age appropriate vaccines, heartworm negative, microchipped, and on monthly flea, tick, and heartworm prevention. Her adoption fee is $250, which covers part of the medical care she will receive.**Please note that the breed listed for each of our dogs is a rough estimate unless DNA results are provided in their Bio. All strays have rough estimates of their age based on the condition of their teeth. Each dog is different, so each adoption is different. Our adoption process might require multiple visits to the shelter before our dogs can go home. Or they may be ready on the first visit. It really depends on the individual dog and the potential adopters. Once we receive your application, the Dog Staff will contact you to discuss meeting our dogs.

Story
Meet Fergus!Floppy ears? Check. Giant puppy paws? Check. A mouth full of tiny little needle teeth? DOUBLE CHECK!Meet Fergus, an absolutely adorable little guy who`s under six months old and living life in FULL PUPPY MODE!While we`re not entirely sure what breeds make up this handsome boy, we suspect there could be some Cane Corso in the mix. That`s just our best guess, though! What we do know is that Fergus has some impressive paws to grow into, and his future family should be prepared for the possibility of a rather large adult dog.Fergus is ALL puppy, and we mean ALL puppy. He`s energetic, curious, playful, mouthy, and still figuring out how the world works. Those adorable little teeth? He`s still learning what they`re for and, more importantly, what they aren`t for! Because of his enthusiastic puppy behavior, we believe Fergus would do best in a home with older, dog-savvy children who understand how to interact safely with a growing puppy. We`re still getting to know Fergus, and it`s been wonderful watching more of his personality emerge each day! We`re currently on a mission to discover what really makes this little guy tick. So far, frozen chew treats have been a big hit, giving those teething gums some relief while keeping him happily occupied. Here`s the most important thing we want Fergus`s future family to understand: Puppies don`t come knowing the rules. They need someone willing to teach them.Fergus will need a family prepared for everything that comes with raising a puppy: potty training, appropriate chewing, basic manners, socialization, and learning how to settle. Structure, routine, patience, and consistent positive reinforcement will be essential in helping him grow into a confident, well-adjusted adult dog. There will be frustrating moments, plenty of learning opportunities, and probably a few things that get chewed along the way. That`s puppyhood! We know Fergus is ridiculously cute. Trust us, we`ve seen those ears! But we`re not just looking for someone who falls in love with his puppy face. We`re looking for someone who`s ready to fall in love with the entire journey of raising him.Fergus has so much growing and learning ahead of him, and he`s going to need someone committed to guiding him through it all. But for the right person or family, all that effort could lead to something truly special. If you`re ready for the adventure of puppyhood and excited to help this little guy become the best version of himself, Fergus just might be your perfect match!Interested in adopting me?I`d love to meet you!
