Introducing Fiona, the resilient 5-year-old Corso who has overcome adversity with grace and determination. Fiona`s journey began when she was left alone in the shelter parking lot at Angels for Animals overnight, but she has since blossomed into a confident and loving companion. Despite her rough start, Fiona has grown in confidence and is now eagerly seeking her forever home where she can shower her new family with affection and loyalty.Fiona`s ideal home would be one with older children, aged 13 and above, where she can thrive in a calm and predictable environment. Due to her past experiences, Fiona would do best in a household with minimal people coming and going, allowing her to feel secure and settled. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Fill out an Adoption Application Sweet Mirti, a Miami native, is ready to show a lucky family what a good girl she can be!   Mirti was found pregnant, abandoned, and roaming the streets of Miami, FL in November 2023.  She unfortunately got sick during her shelter stay and had to spend a few weeks in boarding until being cleared to travel.  It was a sad sight for sure…watching a girl who just couldn’t catch a break.    Shortly after Christmas, she arrived in MTM’s care… she was scared, nervous and would run and hide or lie on her bed shaking - afraid to move.  A week of settling in and decompressing revealed a happy, lively, dog who wanted nothing more than a human to give her scratches and attention.  Her personality is now shining through, and she continues to show us how lucky we are to have saved her.      Now on to the dislikes… There is not one thing identified that she doesn’t like or that seems to bother her to no end.  Here are all the things this girl loves: Mirti is quiet in her kennel until she hears a voice or sees her human.  Then she becomes excited and lets you know by barking and jumping at her kennel door. As soon as she is let out, she proceeds to do her zoomies. :) She enjoys running around in the open yard, but never strays too far from  her person. She loves being rubbed/petted/loved on and doesn’t mind being touched on her ears or feet.  She  enjoys car rides. Mirti knows a few basic commands but gets easily excited and will jump.  She can be easily redirected and is able to settle. She does not mind you touching her mouth, looking at her teeth, or touching her feet.  She walks well on a leash. However, if you don't make her heal far enough back, she will cut in front of you. She is food motivated which will definitely help with training. She seems to be unaffected by other dogs in the area of her kennel or the open play yard. She is, however, quite intrigued by the goats.  Where she walks, there is a small group of little dogs that bark at her. She is curious she does not bark. She does not charge after them. She does not pull and is easily redirected and continues when the leash walk. She is somewhat startled by noises and by cars passing by, but if you can keep her focus she will continue on the walk. Good with cats, dogs, and kids (over 6)?:  non-reactive towards dogs, intrigued and tail wags when meeting a cat; and curious about little humans.  She was hesitant at first when meeting her 6-year-old foster human but him staying still and calm settled her nerves, and she sat right beside him while he held her leash.  Housetrained: Yes. Crate trained:  Yes. Requires a fenced yard (physical fence and/or invisible fence)?  No, she is a velcro dog who will stay by your side.  She will partake in some zoomies, but you will always be in her sights. Walks well on a leash? Yes, good leash manners.  She is walked in an area that has a group of little dogs that bark at her; she is curious about all the praise, but her modesty keeps her from making a fuss about it.  She does not pull and is easily redirected; she is somewhat startled by noises and by cars passing by but again -- If you can keep her focus she will continue on the walk by your side. Any Medical issues? None. What would be the best kind of home? Mirti is a healthy girl with an abundance of energy to share with an active, energetic family.  She is good with kids, dogs (big and small), and cats and would love a human lap to lay her head on.             Application Fees, Adoption Donations and Rescue Policy: Please know that 100% of our fees and donations pay for the costs of rescuing dogs. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Fill out an Adoption Application PETE IS A COURTESY POST LOCATED IN KNOXVILLE TENNESSEE Pete is a very handsome1.5 year old blue Cane Corso. Pete is true to the mastiff nature and LOVES his family. He has a really good disposition with both people and dogs. He goes to work in an office setting and greets customer and employees every day. Likes: Fetch, leisure time in the yard, car rides, dog friends, new people, and naps. Dislikes: Pete can be timid when he is out of his comfort zone. Loud noises and chaotic spaces can overwhelm him. Personality: Pete is goofy boy. He is happiest when he is with his people or playing in the backyard. He does have a nervous side; in new environments he needs to take it slow and be allowed time to warm up. Temperament: Loyal, playful and even tempered. Energy level: Pete is a medium energy dog. After a walk or playing fetch, he is ready for a looooong nap. Favorite activities: Fetch, playing with other dogs. Napping. Good with cats, dogs, and kids (over 6)?: Pete is good with dogs. He currently lives with two other dogs and interacts with more dogs at the office. He is also good with cats. Introducing new dogs to Pete appropriately has always set him up for success. Once they’ve been introduced, Pete loves to play.  Not good with: Fence interaction. He lives on a street with a lot of foot traffic and he does not like strangers approaching the fence. Housetrained: Yes, Pete is fully house trained!  No counter surfing; never allowed on furniture. Crate trained: Yes, he will cry on and off in the crate but is always willing to go into it. Requires a fenced yard (physical fence and/or invisible fence)? Yes, a fenced in yard is very good for Pete. He will spend hours outside lounging in the sun or chewing on sticks. Walks well on a leash? Pete has had professional training. When walking on a leash, he is very strong. Challenges: Pete is very large and often doesn’t know how big he is. When Pete is nervous or put in an overwhelming situation he requires a patient owner who understands his needs. Any Medical issues? None known. What would be the best kind of home? Pete will be an asset to a family or individual who has time and plenty of love to devote to him. Owners with experience and knowledge of the Cane Corso breed who can continue to work on his training would be great. A family without young children would be best suitable. Pete is wonderful with kids, but their loud nature can be overwhelming to him.  He is a sweet and wonderful boy who is looking for people to love and be loved by.   Application Fees, Adoption Donations and Rescue Policy: Please know that 100% of our fees and donations pay for the costs of rescuing dogs.
