Story
Athena is a big girl with an even bigger heart! This 90lb Cane Corso mix may look like an impressive powerhouse, but she has a surprisingly calm and gentle personality. She’s happiest when she can simply lay down, relax, and soak up some love. Athena walks nicely on leash without pulling and takes treats gently from your hand. She knows how to sit on command, although she’ll quickly decide that lying down is even better! Most of the time, Athena is a very low energy girl who is perfectly content to lounge around and be pet, but she does have a playful side, too! Toss a squeaky toy her way and you might get to see her do some zoomies! Athena isn`t looking for a marathon partner or someone to keep her constantly entertained. She`d much rather find a cozy spot, stretch out, and relax. If you`re looking for a gentle giant with a wonderfully relaxed personality, Athena might be your girl!

Stella is a good dog that gets along with all animals and people both big and small. Our landlord has requested that we rehome her or have to find another place to live. She does not bite and is house trained. She think that she is still a puppy. Just looking for a good home for her. She comes with everything we have for her.

Story
Mama Renata - affectionately known as "Renny" - is a female/spayed, adult Cane Corso looking for her very own, loving, forever family. Renny entered our program with her six (6) babies, after winding up at a north Texas animal shelter. Fearful and extremely protective, the shelter had her slated for immimnent euthanasia. Due to a foster mama willing to step up and take the whole family, Renny and her babies were spared. Now three months later, all of Renny's babies are adopted and, well, it's time for her to find a gentle, calm, and kind family, too. Life has not been the kindest to Renata. She can be fearful and unsure at initial meetings, and she is not social with other dogs, at all. Renata is looking for that "unicorn" home - one where she is free to just "be herself" without the pressure of having to socialize with other animals or forced into constant public settings. If you've never loved a mama dog, we can assure you this: they are something special. They love fiercely and deeply; and ask for nothing, aside from a safe space to rest their head. Renny has been in a foster home that adores her and wants nothing more than for her to find the right family, where she can be the only pet and oh, so loved for exactly.who.she.is. Think Renny is the girl for your home? Apply online here: https://adopt.animalsfirst.com/animal/6476b07912357a9a4606eddf/69b7683cd913e43ae1066bab

Story
Adopt Shepherd! Shepherd is a Rottweiler, Cane Corso, and Mastiff mix with an enormous heart and so much love to give. While he's still a puppy, his personality is surprisingly laid-back. He's the definition of a gentle giant in the making and is happiest spending time with his people. Full grown, we expect him to be approximately 100 pounds. Shepherd is fully potty trained, kennel trained, walks nicely on a leash, and is respectful in the home. He isn't destructive and happily sleeps in his kennel every night. His exercise needs are refreshingly simple—a 30-minute walk in the morning is usually enough before he's ready to relax for the rest of the day. Although he enjoys playing, he would truly benefit from continued structured training to help him reach his full potential. Shepherd is looking for a very specific home where he can feel safe and succeed. We are only considering homes without children. He would do well with a single person or a couple, but a busier household would likely be overwhelming for him, including those with frequent visitors. He is believed to do best as the only dog in the home, although he may be compatible with the right female dog. Because of his leash reactivity toward other dogs, he should not visit dog parks or live in a busy area. He does require a securely fenced yard. These adoption requirements are **non-negotiable**, and applications that do not meet them will not be considered. On leash, Shepherd can be reactive toward other dogs, but he responds well to redirection and is easily corrected. With consistency, structure, and an experienced owner who understands large, protective breeds, he continues to make great progress. Shepherd's adopter must have experience with one of his breeds or related breeds. Shepherd isn't looking for a busy lifestyle—he's looking for a calm, committed home that will help him continue his training, respect his boundaries, and appreciate him for the loyal, loving companion he is. In return, he'll offer unwavering devotion and a lifetime of love.
