Story
Meet Arnie ❤️ Arnie is a sweet, gentle 9-year-old Mastiff/Cane Corso mix who has been through a lot and is now looking for a calm, loving home to spend his golden years. He is neutered, fully up to date on vaccinations, and ready for his next chapter. Arnie is a low-energy companion who mostly enjoys relaxing near his people. He’s happiest lying on his bed on the floor and being close to your side—classic loyal mastiff behavior. While he enjoys short walks, he is not highly active and prefers a peaceful environment. He would do best in a home with another friendly dog, as he doesn’t like being alone. He gets along well with other dogs and shows no signs of food aggression. He is also completely uninterested in cats. Arnie has met children ages 3–8 in his foster experience and has shown a very gentle, calm temperament around them. The only area he needs a little patience is with men. Arnie had a difficult past with a male owner, so he can be initially nervous and may whine or hesitate around men. However, with consistency and kindness, he typically warms up within about a week. He will come with his large kennel, which he considers his safe space, along with some of his belongings to help him transition comfortably. Arnie is truly a wonderful, loyal boy who just needs a patient home where he can feel safe and loved. If you have any questions or would like to arrange a meet and greet, please reach out to Brooke at +1 (757) 842-0632. Fostered in Virginia Beach | Fostering through Tramp’s Rescue 🏡

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.THIS IS A COURTESY LISTING. Bobbie's Pit Bull Rescue (BPRS) has generally not met this dog and is not responsible for any wrong or incomplete information submitted by its owner. The dog did not undergo a behaviral evaluation by BPRS.BPRS has no further involvment in the adoption process unless requested by the owner and/or adopter. House trained Crate trained Knows basic commands Walks great on leash Rides well in the car Good with kids Cat friendly Loves people (like… REALLY loves people) Enjoys other dogs May guard food/toys with dogs Could thrive as the only dog soaking up all the love Meet Nola: Nola is a 2.5-year-old Cane Corso with a heart as big as her paws. She was rescued from a rural shelter after some unfortunate circumstances, but you’d never know it by her loving, easygoing nature. This girl is an absolute love bug. Nola lives for snuggles, scratches, and being close to her people. She’s incredibly social and happily greets everyone she meets like an old friend and completely unaware that she’s a 90-pound lap dog. If you’re looking for a dog who will lean into you for affection and melt right into your arms, she’s your girl. Nola has calm, quiet energy in the home and is a joy to be around. She is house trained; crate trained and knows her basic commands. She walks beautifully on a leash and rides well in the car. She also enjoys going out and having fun with you, whether it’s a good game of tug, a round of fetch, or a nice walk on the hiking trail or around the block . Nola has a personality you’ll absolutely fall in love with. She’s happy to join in on the fun and then settle right back down by your side. Like most young dogs, Nola has a playful and mischievous side and may occasionally grab a shoe to carry around, but she is not destructive she just likes to “borrow” things. She’s also a big fan of stuffies and loves carrying them around like her favorite little treasures. She’s been great with kids and is even cat-friendly! Nola enjoys other dogs but has shown some resource guarding around food and occasionally toys with them (never with people). With proper management, she can do well, though she may also thrive as the only dog in the home where she can soak up all the love. Nola has the softest, teddy bear like fur and the sweetest soul to match… and yes, she does come with a little drool but that’s part of the Corso charm! Her foster mom, who is also a trainer, absolutely adores her and knows Nola is going to make her family incredibly happy! Nola is spayed, microchipped, up to date on vaccines and prevention. She is currently fostered in Virginia, but transport is available. Please apply today! https://mustlovecorsosrescue.org/adopt-foster-application/ Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.May 26, 2026, 1:34 pm

Story
Almost two years ago, 10 (or maybe 11) puppies were born and claimed as an "accidental litter". AGPR was asked in December 2024 to please, please help...the owners could not afford to feed and care for the litter. And the pups were fighting with each other. They had 10 left when they called and 8 left when we got back to them. We agreed to take 5 or 6 of the pups, even though we were over capacity and had very little space to squeeze them in. They arrived in the back of a truck a few days later.I'm Cole...Kringle's brother. My volunteer friend had fun taking photos of me a little while ago since I was intent on capturing the little skink that was playing on the tree in my exercise yard. NOTHING would deter me. I was offered treats...nope! My human friend thinks she fooled me, but I saw her capture the skink and move it away.My lady friend at the time, Gracie, was in the yard barking words of encouragement to me while I was on my big hunt. I saw the human sneak her treats behind her back and decided I needed to get some Milk Bone action.I now have a new lady friend, Trixie, who loves to play! We "rough and tumble" for a while and then love to chill out in the sun.I'd love a home with lots of human attention or a medium to large female canine playmate. Of course I'd want to "interview" her first to make sure she's as compatible as either Gracie or Trixie.Like my brother, a bit more leash walking training would be helpful. I also like to jump up for attention and I blame it on my young age. Would I like a forever home soon? You betcha!!! A nice big yard with room for Zoomies and tons of love and attention. Oh, and skinks to chase!FYI - All Great Pyrenees require a fenced-in yard (at least four foot high). If you have questions about the breed or our adoption policies and procedures, please go to our website at www.agprescue.org. There's plenty of good information about the breed on our website - Pyrs aren't a breed for everyone! Our adoption application is online: http://agprescue.org/adoption-application/agpr-application-donations/ Please note that we are a small regional rescue organization. We will consider adopting to families within a four to five hour drive to Richmond, VA

Story
Hi - my name is Alexander but I prefer to be called "Alex". I arrived at AGPR in January 2024 at the age of about 2 months old along with four of my siblings. They've all been adopted. When I got to AGPR, I was a "scrappy little devil". I have grown almost over night and I'm now a long legged handsome boy. My coat is medium length and will be a bit easier to keep under control (remember - it is all relative). One of our volunteers decided to do a DNA test on me and also on one of my sisters. We both came up with about 45% Great Pyr and about 25% Anatolian Shepherd. The rest is a little bit of "this and that". We do know our mommy was predominantly Pyr and our daddy was said to be some sort of livestock guardian, so we believe the DNA results. I'm a little different from my siblings - I have a bobbed tail. It is genetic (and confirmed with my DNA test). It's so cute and wags like all the others when I am happy. You will find it funny when you meet me to know that I have some chihuahua in my DNA...not sure where it is!I always hear the volunteers talk about me and how handsome I am and how smart I am. They love it when they pass by my exercise run and I stick my long front leg and paw out to "Pyr paw" and remind then that I am here...waiting for a walk. Speaking of walks, I LOVE my walks! I'm a bit energetic at first - I can't help it, I just get so excited about getting out with my people and exploring nature. An interesting tidbit? I look awesome as a reindeer in the Christmas parades.I can't wait to find my forever family and home. I'm hoping for a nice big yard so I can run and play..."zoomies" are my favorite thing to do. I'd be a great walking or hiking buddy with my long legs and enthusiasm. I LOVE people but I might be a bit fussy with other dogs...it depends. Do you think I'd be a good addition to your family? All Great Pyrenees require a fenced-in yard (at least four foot high). The other is my brother Cole and we will be celebrating our 2nd birthday on August 9th. I love my walks, love to drop and roll for belly rubs, and if you aren't careful, will sometimes dart between your legs to get closer to you.Not being two years old yet gives me plenty of excuses for my antics. I like to jump up but am getting better at keeping "four on the floor". But because I'm not perfect (yet), it might be best that if there are kids in the family, they are a bit older so I don't knock them over in my enthusiasm. My leash walking has definitely improved these past few months...I'm growing up and trying to become a bit more mature acting. I'm told I am a sweet boy who needs some boundaries...just like a young child. I'm hoping my birthday wish for a loving family this year comes true soon! All Great Pyrenees require a fenced-in yard (at least four foot high).
