Story
**I am located in Georgia, but I can be transported north to you!** Name: Jupiter Breed: Carolina Dog Sex: Female Age: 5 Weight: 40 lbs Vetting: spayed, microchipped, up-to-date on vaccinations, heartworm negative and on heartworm prevention House trained: Yes Crate Trained: She is crate trained, but her first experience with them was when she was with animal control, so she doesn't love being in one. Dogs: She has done well with male dogs, but has had personality issues with other females. Cats: She hasn't been cat tested, but can upon request. Energy Level: Her high energy side comes out when she wants to play. She will run and play tug-a-war with a maximum energy level, and she needs to play like this at least twice a day. But when she's done playing, she would love to just relax in the sunshine. Things that make me happy: Food and scratches, specifically butt scratches, and being with her human man. She loves her foster mom and is very protective of her, but she will always want to be a daddy’s girl. She is a terrible flirt and waits all day for an evening of snuggles with her foster dad. She loves her treats of raw carrots and green beans. She even knows the difference when given a choice and she will tell you which one she would prefer at that moment. And if you take the time to scratch her bum she will reward you by loudly purring. Things that make my humans happy: She is so smart. She knows how to give a high five, a regular five, and a double five aka a ten. She also knows No, Sit, and Speak and is working on lying down. She sticks to her schedule of eating and going to the bathroom outside, so as long as her human is consistent all will be well. Working on: Jupiter is still a bit wild when playing. She is not aggressive, but she doesn't always understand that humans don’t play the same way as dogs. She needs someone who can handle a dog who uses her mouth when playing. She won't bite hard, but there could be the occasional nip when your hand is too close to her end of her tug rope. She is also built like a furry little tank and she may jump on you when playing (she doesn't jump otherwise) and you’ll feel her compact weight and her nails. Before FAR: Jupiter lived her first two years on her own as a stray until she was picked up by animal services and was rescued by Furever After Rescue just in time to avoid being euthanized. She was likely never a domestic dog before she was rescued. She doesn't show any signs of having been mistreated by humans, but she will always be skittish around and wary of people. Special Notes: Jupiter is slightly skittish from having been on her own originally. She prefers the flight instead of fight reaction as her first instinct and will need her own special place to retreat to when she gets scared. She wants someone who will be patient with her and let her explore and understand what is expected of her. Ideal Family/Home: Because of her size and background, she wouldn’t be right in a household with younger children. She really needs a family that will be able to give her the love and attention she needs. She will want to sleep in the bed with you where she's not shy about being a bed hog, but she repays with sweet cuddles. She's good on a leash and loves a good walk, but not a long one, so she will need daily exercise through lots of playing. She would not be good in a home where her parents are gone 40+ hours a week. She is a special dog and needs a family that can appreciate her uniqueness. He thrives on love and attention from his humans. He likes balls of all sizes, fuzzy toys and friends to play with. This boy will make a wonderful addition to a loving, fun family! Dozer is an active boy, that will do best in a home with another dog for him to play with. He does like to chase cats if they run, but also plays gently if they give him a chance. He is great with the foster puppies in his home. He teaches the babies how to play, and watches over them. He is a smart and handsome guy. He is leash, kennel, and house trained. Expensive toys aren't necessary for this sweet boy as sticks are his favorite! He'll pick them up, run with them, and fetch them. Dozer  rides very well, and his favorite place to go to is Tractor Supply. He loves meeting people and being the center of attention. Dozer is ready for adoption. He is completely vetted. Story
ROGER IS IN HIS FOSTER HOME IN MEMPHIS, TN, AND WILL BE TRANSPORTED TO CT ONCE ADOPTED!   Are you looking for a big, cuddly couch potato? You have found your pup! Roger is a 75-pound, 1-year old Carolina/Shepherd mix whose love of naps and cuddle sessions are matched only by his love of booty skritches. He has an EAR-resistible face with his light eyes and single ear always at attention. He is the happiest, snuggliest boy! He even greets his grown ups with a “smile” when they walk through the door. Please don’t try to tell him he’s not a lap dog; he’d never believe you.    Despite being a long, lanky boy, he’s a bit of a scaredy cat. He’s timid of strangers at first and prefers a home without children. Roger was previously adopted by a family with young kids. Despite months of coaching and training, it has become clear he will not get over his fear of children and so he is now looking for a kid-free forever home. Roger loves other dogs and has not been cat-tested. He is house trained, crate trained, and great on a leash.    Roger is truly the cuddliest, most loving lazy bones — an old soul, no doubt! Let’s find him a home where he will get the big love he deserves! He is fully vetted. Vetting includes spay/neuter, microchip, rabies and all puppy vaccinations. His adoption fee of $600 includes the transport to CT. We use a licensed and registered USDA transport company that will bring Roger up north to his new family.   If you have any questions, please email us at:  newbeginnings_animalrescue@yahoo.com   You can apply to adopt Roger here:  www.newbeginningsanimalrescue.net   THANK YOU FOR CONSIDERING ADOPTING A RESCUED PET! Story
LIAM IS IN HIS FOSTER HOME IN MEMPHIS, TN, AND WILL BE TRANSPORTED TO CT ONCE ADOPTED!   Meet Liam – Our Little Scooby-Doo! Liam, 1 year old, is a handsome Carolina Mix Dog with the cutest Scooby-Doo vibes—playful, expressive, and always ready for an adventure. In our home, he’s affectionately known as “Little Scooby-Doo”, and when he starts wiggling his whole butt and tail to show love, we call him our “Disco Dancer.” Liam is house-trained and kennel-trained and sleeps through the night in his kennel without a peep. He’s great on a leash, enjoys walks, and loves being part of the action. He lives in a multi-dog household and gets along wonderfully with other dogs. He’s also friendly with kids and enjoys being social, silly, and sweet. He is quick learner and know basic commands and also very food motivated like any other puppy. Liam has a gentle personality, loves running with dogs, giving licks, and has a warm, affectionate nature that makes him easy to love. If you’re looking for a loving, happy, wiggly companion with a big heart and even bigger charm, Liam is your guy! He is fully vetted. Story
BENNY IS IN HIS FOSTER HOME IN MEMPHIS, TN, AND WILL BE TRANSPORTED TO CT ONCE ADOPTED!   Say hello to Benny! This goofy, lovable 1-year-old mixed breed pup is ready to find a family who appreciates big hearts and even bigger paws! Benny is a fun-loving, rowdy pup who never says no to a game of fetch — in fact, it’s his favorite way to burn off energy and show off his playful side. He’s still a puppy at heart (and in size!), so he’ll do best with a family who enjoys activity, laughter, and maybe a few slobbery kisses along the way. He’s working on his manners and already showing how smart he is — eager to learn, especially when treats or toys are involved. Benny lives in a foster home with dogs and cats. He goes to doggy daycare a at least once a week. He enjoys his time with the staff and making new dog friends who play as much as he does. With a bit of guidance and plenty of love, Benny will grow into the loyal, gentle giant. If you’re looking for a fun, affectionate companion who will fill your home with joy (and probably take up most of the couch), Benny is your guy! He is fully vetted. Vetting includes spay/neuter, microchip, rabies and all puppy vaccinations. His adoption fee of $600 includes the transport to CT.
