Story
Named for the blind scientist and mathematician Nicholas Saunderson, Nick is a friendly, intelligent 73-lb. Carolina Dog, approximately 8 years old. He doesn't let his blindness slow him down - in fact, he can be a bit bullheaded about accepting help when navigating obstacles. With his excellent sense of smell, Nick prefers to figure things out on his own, thank you very much. Nick is friendly with other dogs once properly introduced, although he does have a preference for females. Before that, he may react defensively, which we believe is related to his blindness. He does well with resident dogs and cats, though he's quite curious about them. Nick loves his twice-daily walks and will stand patiently while you put on his walking vest. He is a strong puller - especially when he wants to sniff something interesting or greet a new dog - so he'll need an adopter with the strength and confidence to manage him. He is house-trained, crate-trained, and up to date on vaccinations. Nick is a determined, affectionate dog who will thrive with someone who understands his unique needs and independent spirit. If you are interested in adopting an ARPO pet, please visit our website at arporescue.org to learn more about our adoption process and complete our adoption application. ARPO limits adoptions to within 50 miles of Indianapolis. We do not have a shelter; all pets are in volunteer foster homes.

Story
Chip is a young, energetic Carolina Dog mix who’s full of curiosity and always ready to play. At about a year old, he’s still learning the ropes and would benefit from continued training and structure. The good news? He’s very treat-motivated and eager to please, which makes him a quick learner when given the right guidance. Chip is social, outgoing, and would likely do well with another playful dog in the home. He enjoys being around others and would thrive in a home that can match his energy and help him continue to grow into a well-mannered adult. He’s a great match for someone looking for a fun, active companion and is ready to put in a little time to help him succeed. Chip will be neutered, microchipped, and rabies vaccinated before adoption

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Please contact jsmbmiller@comcast.net for more information about this pet. Flower — Full of Life, Love, and LOTS of Energy! She’s a lot of dog!!! Flower is the kind of girl who brings the party wherever she goes — happy, confident, and always ready for action! She needs a home that can keep up with her zest for life. A home where she’s not left alone all day and where her dog friends actually want to play. Because if they don’t? Well… she’ll do her best to convince them anyway! Flower adores her foster dad — when he picks her up and hugs her, she covers his head and face in kisses! She’s affectionate, hilarious, and full of personality. She’s smart, fun, and absolutely beautiful — but she’s not a couch potato kind of pup. Fostered in Westville, Indiana Needs an active home Not suitable for long work-day schedules Best with playful dogs If you’re ready for a joyful, high-energy companion who will make every day more exciting (and full of laughter), Flower could be your girl! Flower's DNA has been done.  There is a photo of all the breeds that make up Flower!   If you’re looking for a pup with endless personality, puppy-dog eyes that melt your heart, and just the right amount of mischief, Flower might be your perfect match! This sassy little girl keeps life entertaining with her playful antics.  She will need an experienced owner to help guide her energy in the right direction.   Flower LOVES to learn—so much that she could wear a sign that says, 'Will Work for Food!' She’s highly food-motivated and eager to pick up new skills. Confident and full of spunk, she prances around like she owns the place, always curious and ready for her next adventure. At night, Flower settles down and sleeps soundly in her crate, and during the day, she does great in an X-pen when her foster mom is away for a few hours. Whether learning new tricks or exploring her surroundings, Flower will surely bring joy, laughter, and a little sass into your life!  Flower's left ear is deformed but doesn't effect her hearing.  It makes her even cuter! Could Flower be the missing piece in your home? Flower is not a puppy for first time dog owners.  A wisdom panel was done and should be back soon.  She's a tiny girl! There is a photo of Flower's DNA.  Flower's Story; On February 10, 2025 a Good Samaritan picked up Flower in the middle of the road in Southern Indiana.  She weighed in at 2.2 pounds, was full of parasites and struggled to support herself on her hind-legs.  After a vet visit and some TLS in a foster home she is doing much better.  Foster was transported to a CBBCR foster home on 2/19/25. Flower's estimated Birthdate is 1/2/2025.  She is being fostered in Westville, IN Please contact Sharon at jsmbmiller@comcast.net if you have any questions about Flower.  You can complete an application to adopt Flower or any of the dogs on our website at www.comebyebcrescue.org  .     ***  The potential adoptor will get a refund on the Application Fee if it’s determined by the Foster Parent that it’s not a good match for the dog and the dog for them, if we do not process their application.  Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.November 9, 2025, 4:08 pm

Story
Once upon a time, a cool dude led a scary life until he ended up in the home of a devoted foster mom where he learned to sparkle and shine. That foster mom taught him that being a dog can be a lot of fun. She showed him how to have best dog friends, how to get pets, how to be potty trained and how to love. Morty has come a LONG WAY from the hoarding situation he was seized from 18 months ago. He rings a bell to go outside for potty. He initiates play with other dogs and adapts to different play styles. He gets onto the couch with his foster momma for snuggles and curls up next to her bed each night. His favorite things, you ask? - squeaky toys, balls, treat balls, snuffle matsHe loves kibble/yogurt ice cubes, frozen berries, pumpkin, zucchini, carrots, oranges, other dogs and people who give him a chance. Be a part of this young man's journey. Contact us to meet him today!*In a Foster Home-- Call (812) 349-3492 for Questions*
