Story
I had been looking for a 2nd cat. My present cat is a three year old, male, very outgoing and playful. When I saw this one year old female listed on Next Door, I thought this would be a good match. The person could not keep Missy because her cat would attack Missy and so had to keep them separated. Missy is a beautiful cat, grey with orange, very silky, shorthair, very affectionate but she will not let my cat near her. She grows/hisses. This has gone on for more than six weeks. Once she urinated on my sofa exactly where I sit so now she is back in my 2nd bedroom and let her out when I can watch her. I will be having guests in a couple of weeks and only have two bedrooms so it is not a workable situation. She has not urinated again - I assume that was some kind of statement. I recommend a house where Missy would be the only pet with someone who wants a cat to sit on their lap, curl next to them when they sleep.

Story
Introducing Mocha. She is a beautiful female smoky mocha short-haired adult cat, born on August 13, 2021. She was adopted about 10 months ago and, through no fault of her own, was sadly returned when her owner developed a mental illness and could no longer provide care. Despite this change, Mocha has shown incredible resilience and remains a confident, happy, and loving cat. Originally surrendered to the county animal shelter, Mocha was rescued by Small Lives Matter Kitten Rescue, where she was placed into foster care and received all the medical attention she needed, including being spayed. Today, she is thriving and enjoying her second chance at happily-ever-after at Frisky Cat Café, where she is patiently waiting to meet her forever family. Here’s what Frisky Cat Café has to say about her: “Mocha is undoubtedly one of the most delightful cats at the café. She is exuberant, highly curious, and adapted instantly after being released from her condo space. Affectionate and playful, she enjoys the company of other cats as well.” Mocha would make a wonderful addition to a loving home and is ready to offer companionship, affection, and plenty of personality to her future family. Looking to adopt? We have dozens of cats and kittens ready for adoption! You can meet Mocha and our other adoptable cats at Frisky Cat Café in St. Augustine, located at 1092 Ponce De Leon Blvd (US-1). Visiting the café is a delightful way to spend time with potential feline companions—our cats are social, friendly, and love showing off their unique personalities while interacting with guests. Come meet Mocha—you just might fall in love.

Story
Selesta and Her Six Small Miracles Selesta arrived at the shelter with nothing but hope—and a belly full of babies. She was homeless, pregnant, and desperately in need of help. This beautiful Snowshoe Siamese mother-to-be had no idea her life was about to change forever. Just as rescuers from Small Lives Matter Kitten Rescue arrived to take her to safety, Selesta went into labor right there at the shelter. She gave birth to six tiny miracles before being moved to a quiet foster home, where she and her kittens could rest, grow, and thrive in safety and love. Together, Selesta and her six kittens; girls Sequin, Senova and Sesame and boys Seymour, Seville and Seph are a beautiful symbol of resilience, hope, and love. Each one has a distinct personality and charm, but all share the same gentle, trusting nature that makes this family so special. Whether you are drawn to Selesta’s calm grace or her kittens’ joyful energy, they are all ready to bring warmth, laughter, and love into their forever homes. Seville Seville is a male gray and white tuxedo short-haired kitten with soft fur, expressive eyes, and a calm, sweet face. Like his sister Sequin, he is semi-polydactyl, with a few extra toes that make him all the more charming. Seville is gentle, easygoing, and enjoys quiet moments of companionship. He’s playful with his siblings but never rough, and he loves to burrow under blankets or curl up beside his humans. Seville’s steady, affectionate nature makes him an ideal match for someone who values calm, loving company. We have dozens of cats and kittens available! All our adoptable cats are located at the Frisky Cat Cafe in St Augustine. 1092 Ponce De Leon Blvd (US 1). Visiting the cafe is a great way to find your perfect kitty. All of our cats and kittens are socialized and happy to interact with visitors, so you will meet them with their true personalities.

Story
Topher & Tobey A kind, animal-loving family in St. Johns County discovered a stray momma cat who chose their backyard as the perfect place to have her four kittens. From the start, this little family captured their hearts. The momma cat was the most devoted mother, and the family quickly fell in love with all five—but they knew they couldn’t keep them all. Wanting to give the momma the best life possible, they decided to keep her and make her part of their family. She received full veterinary care—vaccines, spay surgery, and everything she needed to become a happy, healthy house cat. As the kittens grew, the family found themselves overwhelmed by this energetic crew of four. Through a neighbor who fosters for Small Lives Matter Kitten Rescue, they reached out for help. Our rescue stepped in to provide the medical care and surgeries the kittens needed to prepare them for adoption. When the time came, the family realized they couldn’t part with the two little girls—Cricket and Bracelets—and officially adopted them through our rescue. That left their two handsome tabby brothers, Topher and Tobey, to come to the café to find homes of their own. Topher has a stunning ticked coat reminiscent of an Abyssinian. He’s intelligent, playful, and full of energy—an affectionate kitten with a curious mind and striking almond-shaped eyes. Tobey, a sweet brown tabby with a loving gaze, is gentle, playful, and eager to bond closely with his person. These two boys can be adopted together as a delightful pair, but they’ll also thrive individually in loving homes where they’ll have plenty of attention and playtime.
