Sweet Sorbet came to us through animal control. She was supposed to have a belly full of "desserts" but joke was on us. She was just a lil chubby. Sorbet is an absolute doll and has gorgeous hazel eyes that look green sometimes and yellow at others. She doesn't let her past taint her beautiful personality.  She loves chin and ear scratches. She's pretty laid back. Sorbet enjoys exploring her space, but isn't a speed racer either. Lest we forget, Sorbet is vocal. She will let you know when you aren't petting her, but should. Or when its time to eat. Or that she is so happy to see you and wants to spend some time with you. Sorbet would love a home of her very own that will love her to the end of days. Meet Manon (Muh-non). This boy lived in the streets. He was fortunate enough that he found an angel that was willing to provide him food and shelter. Unfortunately, that angel will be moving out of state soon and she was concerned no one else would provide for this boy. Manon has glaucoma in his left eye. His vision is limited on that side, and will require eye drops for the remainder of his life. However, that hasn't slowed him down. Manon is really sweet. Since arriving at Paws, he has been very chill. He's enjoyed living in a "house" again. When arriving for a shift, volunteers normally find him curled up on a dog bed, sprawled out on the couch, or snoozing in a cat cave. He's also been fairly quiet.  We'd love this boy to find a furever home quickly. He's gone without the joy of a family for far to long. Spring is in the air and the birds are happy. You can hear them chirping all day long. Paws has its own "flock of birds" that got their names because mama Dove likes to chirp. This family was taken in as strays by a lady to give mama a safe place to raise her kittens. Now its time for them to spread their wings and find their furever home.  We aren't sure how many litters of kittens she has had in her past, but Dove has done her motherly duties for the last time. She has raised up these 4 beautiful kittens and is now looking for a home where she gets to be the one taken care of. Dove is as beautiful as she is sweet with her ticked tabby coat. Meet Mama Maxine.  Maxine and her daughter Sage were picked up together by animal control. They spent 5 months waiting for someone to come adopt them. When animal control put out word that cats were going to be euthanized for space, we decided we had to save these two because they were the longest residents they had. It took them a little time to come out of their shell. With minimal human interactions for at least 5 months, it was understandable that they weren't real trusting of people. Once they finished quarantine, they went into a room with another of our adult kitty girls, Sorbet. After a couple weeks of watching (from the safety of a cubby or hidey hole) Sorbet purr, follow, and get loved on by volunteers - these two ladies decided they wanted a piece of the action. Maxine has become a very loving lil tuxedo sportin' lady. This green eyed beauty now comes to the door when volunteers enter the room; looking for some pets and chin scratches. She's wandering around the room freely. We think she's very happy to be able to stretch her legs and maybe get the zoomies when no one is looking.  Ms Maxine may need a little time to adjust to your house. It took her a couple weeks here. She would likely do best with another social kitty that will teach her that all is well in her new home (as Sorbet did for her at Paws).  If you have a window seat or couch thats missing a kitty, Maxine would love to fill that void. Maxine is ready to leave today. By applying, she could be exploring your house within the week. ##1991660##
