We have made the difficult decision to rehome our sweet cat, Ophelia (the gray tabby in the photos). She gets along well with both cats and dogs. Both of Ophie’s furry friends passed away since these photos were taken, and she has been lonely since then.With my daughter leaving for college and my recent move into my elderly mother’s home to help care for her declining health, we are no longer able to keep Ophelia with us. This has been an incredibly painful decision for our family.I rescued Ophelia as a tiny kitten during the pandemic from a fast food drive-thru and she has been deeply loved ever since. We have spent years fostering, rescuing, and adopting animals, so needing to rehome one of our own is truly heartbreaking.We are desperately hoping to find a safe, loving home for this sweet girl where she can receive the love and companionship she deserves.PLEASE share this post and reach out if you or someone you trust may be interested in giving Ophelia a wonderful home. 🐈‍⬛

Athena and her siblings were born on 02/20/2026. She is an adorable Siamese baby who is very playful and affectionate just like her siblings. She was spayed and microchipped on 05/19/2026 and has had two of her feline shots. She will need one additional feline shot in three weeks and a rabies vaccine in 4 weeks. She is litter box trained. Hestia is the sister to Lox and Aunt to Athena 2 (also pictured for adoption)! Her estimated DOB is 04/01/2025. She is a beautiful silver/grey siamese and does have a bit of an attitude with other cats. She is fine as long as they let her be the queen!! She was a bit timid and hid for the first day but then came out to investigate and has been loving every since! She is petite, weighing just 7 lbs at this point. She was spayed, microchipped, given her first feline shot and a one year rabies vaccine on 05/19/2026 and will be ready to go home on 05/29/2026. Her adoption fee is $175. Margo came to PAWS pregnant and gave birth to five beautiful babies the very next day. She had been living as a stray on the streets of Cairo, IL, for all of her life as far as we know. But a kind gentleman came to her rescue and began to feed her and provide shelter for her. He was sad to surrender her but said he just could not continue to care for her and just wanted her to be safe. She is THE sweetest cat I have ever known and she is beautiful. (Unfortunately, she is not very photogenic so her pictures really don't do her justice!) She is immediately friendly with everyone and just wants to love and be loved. She is very quiet and calm and has been an exceptionally great mom. Now that she has the babies old enough to go to their forever homes, it is her turn to have the love and comfort of her very own home and family. She has been spayed, microchipped and has a rabies shot. She did test positive for FIV but I pray that does not stop someone from giving this precious girl the life that she deserves. Most research shows that this can only be transmitted to other cats through a deep puncture wound. It is not a danger to humans. She can live a perfectly normal life, she just may not live quite as long as a non FIV cat. Please consider welcoming this girl into your home. Her adoption fee is $100 and she is ready to go home. Lox was surrendered after the second human baby was born. Her previous folks felt like they were overwhelmed with having several cats so they asked if we could help. Lox was born 04/04/2025 and is a sister to Hestia and the mother of Athena 2 (chocolate point). She is very shy and hides in the beginning but came out after just a few hours to be petted. She is very sweet and quiet but so so loving. She is a petite girl and weighs just 6 lbs right now. If interested in adopting Lox, you must complete the PAWS application. Lee is one of five kittens that Momma Liza managed to keep alive against all odds. They were found in an alley starving and covered in fleas. Poor Liza was too weak and sickly to even clean herself or her babies. But all of that is behind them and Lee is ready for his new home. He is also a really good helper. He sits quietly in the corner of each litter box and watches me clean it every morning and every evening! He is a very loving boy who also loves to play.
