Story
ABOUT GRIMALKIN! Meet Grimalkin, our big, beautiful girl! This sweet lady was brought in as a very nervous stray, so while we don't know much about her past, we can assume she had a rough life before coming to us. This has all been pretty stressful for this pretty girl, so she's had a hard time adjusting. She has started to come out of her shell, though! If you are interested in adopting this cat, please submit an adoption questionnaire! Our adoption process is on a first-come, best-match basis and we are not able to hold animals. If you are interested in this specific cat but it ends up not being the best fit upon meeting, our adoption counselors will work with you to help find a match! We may require all household members, including children, to come along for the meeting to make sure it's a good fit. If a match is made, we encourage same-day adoptions! Our adoption fees include the animals' spay/neuter, microchip, age-appropriate vaccinations and preventatives, and a small bag of food to get you started.

Story
Meet Tazz Tazz is our almost six year old tabby sass-a-frass! She recently arrived to HAP when her owner could no longer care for her. Since she's lived in a loving home most of her life, she's struggled transitioning into shelter life. We're still giving her some time to settle in so we're unsure if her sassiness is because she doesn't feel settled yet or if that's her true personality. What we do know is that underneath that initial sass is a very affectionate girly! Once Tazz feels more comfortable, she will weave and rub and push her entire body weight into you for loving. But if you stop before she's had her fill, you're not going to hear the end of it because she will let you know she wants more with her loud meows! She's quite the vocal girly. We haven't seen how she is with other cats yet so we're unsure how she'd do living in a home with other cats. As Tazz continues to settle in and we learn more about her personality, we'll continue to update! In the meantime, if you're interested in Tazz stop in today to meet this sassy but sweet girl! If you are interested in adopting this cat, please submit an adoption questionnaire! Our adoption process is on a first-come, best-match basis and we are not able to hold animals. Story
Meet Tommy Tommy was recently brought to HAP when a good Samaritan found him hiding outside in the cold weather! Since arriving, he's been shy and nervous at first but then will come right over for pets and loving when he warms up. He loves the booty scratches and of course, the all important ear and chin scratches. Really any scratches are Tommy's favorite! We haven't seen his mischievous orange cat energy come out yet but we're sure once he's settled and comfortable, his true personality will start to come out. Being just over a year, he has his moments of climbing around and we think he'd be more active once he feels more comfortable. For now he likes to climb up high or skulk around low to find the best hiding places to take the best cat naps. He's shared a room with another cat but they were both pretty shy and kept to themselves but he showed some interested through the door to the other room so we'll continue to update if he makes some feline friends! Stop by today if you're interested in this sweet and loving orange boy! Story
Beamer will be 4 years old on 8/14/26 and he's a very chill and quiet boy. We adopted him in 2023 hoping he would be a companion to our older cat, but our older cat cannot get along with Beamer. He doesn't do anything to her, just him existing is enough to have her growling and hissing and threatened to go after him. We've tried since May 2023 for them to get along, but they are getting worse and more stressed. We feel that he would be much happier in a home either alone or with other cats that love to be around other cats. We have a poodle that Beamer is fine around, and nieces and nephews that's he's never had any issue with. He can be shy at first, but he's a huge love bug that just wants to be pet. He's about 14lbs the last he was weighed and I do still have his paperwork from the adoption.
