Story
I found Brutus on the streets and when I did he ran up immediately and stood on his legs reaching for a pet with his head. He’s a friendly little guy and he’s loves playing. He also enjoys getting petted and will cuddle up next to his favorite companion. We have 4 cats already and it’s a bit more than we can reasonably afford. It would mean everything to find him a loving owner and home so we know he’s getting the care he deserves. I refuse to release him or even drop him at a shelter. We have gotten him neutered and shots and have the medical records for the new owner.

Needs experienced adopter,
Story
Sandy the Great Pumpkin has a large name, as is appropriate for a fellow of his large size. While Sandy may look like a big, tough guy, looks can be deceiving, and he is actually a very sensitive soul. Sandy came to Cameron Animal Rescue from an inner city shelter where he was brought after his owners could no longer care for him. The change was devastating to this sensitive guy, and he has taken a lot of time to adjust. Sandy finds many things scary, including people and places he doesn't know, loud noises, unexpected movements, kittens, and vaccum cleaners, among others. However he has made slow but steady progress, and in learning to trust, has shown us his true silly, sweet, demanding personality. It takes time and patience to earn Sandy's trust, but once he trusts you, he loves ear, neck, and chin scratches, and other attention. He also loves food (and can sometimes overcome potential fear if a treat is involved). He does not however, love most other animals, although he does tolerate calm older cats and dogs who ignore his presence and leave him alone. Human children are a walking, talking combination of the things he doesn't like (noise, movement, and surprises). He does love big cozy beds that are large enough to fit him, and little stuffed toy mice that he bats around like a silly kitten. Sandy would do best in a quiet, calm home, with a patient owner. Sandy is approximately 10 years old and weighs 18lb. Sandy is healthy and his general bloodwork is good. He had previous ear infections that were never treated, and which damaged the cartilage of his ears, causing them to crumple, but the infection has now been treated and is fully resolved. Sandy is FeLV/FIV negative and Bartonella negative; he is neutered; he has had his full series of FVRCP and Rabies vaccines; and he has been fecal tested and dewormed.  Sandy has had his world turned upside down, but he is doing his best to be brave, and when you earn his trust it is incredibly rewarding. Story
Puzzle is a silly, playful boy who loves people and attention. He is ready to find his forever home with a family who will love him as much as he is ready to love them. Puzzle is approximately 3 years old. He is an active, smart boy who loves to chase toys, solve puzzles, and play with people. He is very affectionate and loves being cuddled and pet. He can occasionally become overstimulated and will nibble at fingers, but he is never aggressive, and immediately responds when told 'no'. Although he came with his name, it is fitting - Puzzle enjoys food puzzles and mazes, new toys, and different activities to provide mental stimulation and engagement. He is good with other cats, but does like to wrestle gently, so would be best with another young adult/middle aged cat that enjoys the same play style. Puzzle is neutered, FeLV/FIV negative, Feline Bartonella negative, fecal tested and dewormed, and has received his full series of FVRCP vaccines and his rabies vaccine. He is generally healthy, but does have Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy (HCM), a condition which causes his heart muscle to thicken. He is receiving medication for the condition, which he takes easily in his food. This is the most common heart disease in cats, and Puzzle had an echocardiogram diagnosing it. It is unknown whether this condition will shorten Puzzle's life; in some animals it progresses rapidly, in others they live full, healthy lives with no worsening of disease. Puzzle will need to see a cardiologist throughout his life to monitor and manage the condition. Due to this, we are looking for an adopter who has an extensive prior vet reference, demonstrating that they will provide this level of care. Puzzle is a wonderful, loving boy who deserves a forever family of his own who will play with him, cuddle him, and love him, and he will return that love 10 fold. Email CAHadoptions@gmail.com for more information.
