Declawed,
Story
Located in Blairstown, NJ and will need to be picked up at this location. Paul will require an experienced owner who can verify that they have dealt with a behavioral cat.  Please note your experience on the application under "anything else you would like to share".  If you do not provide this information, we will not be able to process your application.  Hello handsome hunk Paul!  This big guy was born on 5/20/2023.  He is currently 18 lbs. and is a Pure Breed Maine Coon (without papers). Paul was surrendered to rescue due to not urinating in the litter box.  While we won't go into details here, if you are seriously interested in him, more information can be provided during your application interview. While Paul has been in rescue, he has been using the box and no improper urination has occurred. We are recommended the least stressful environment for Paul at this time.  No other cats, no dogs and no small children.  It will also be in his best interest to be placed in a home with no plans for a move or major life change.   Paul does need some time to settle in.  Once he settles in, he enjoys all the attention you can give him.  This boy headbutts and rubs all over you.   His former owner said he enjoys being carried around in a sling bag and going out in a harness and leash. Paul is front paw declawed.  Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.August 3, 2026, 7:25 pm

Story
Location:  Mantua NJ 08051 Double the Love: Meet Taz & Stella – A Mother and Son Looking for Their Perfect Home Sometimes life changes in ways that even the most loving pets struggle to understand. Taz and Stella have been cherished members of their family for years, but after the arrival of a new baby, the busy household has become overwhelming for these sensitive souls. They are now searching for a peaceful home where they can relax, be loved, and truly be themselves once again. Taz is a 5-year-old Maine Coon mix with handsome tabby markings and beautiful golden eyes. This affectionate boy is happiest when he's the center of your world. He adores curling up in your lap for afternoon naps, enjoys being brushed, happily accepts treats, and will soak up every bit of attention you're willing to give. Taz loves his people and simply wants a calm environment where he can feel safe. Stella is Taz's sweet mom, an estimated 9-year-old Maine Coon mix with a gorgeous black and caramel coat and striking yellow eyes. She's a gentle, quiet girl who may be shy at first, but once she trusts you, she'll become your loyal companion. Stella loves chin scratches, whisker rubs, being brushed, and making biscuits when she's content. While she prefers to lounge beside you rather than on your lap, she'll always want to be close to the people she loves. These two would absolutely love to stay together, and there is something incredibly special about watching a mother and son continue their lifelong bond. However, they can also be adopted separately if the right homes are found. Both Taz and Stella would do best in: A quiet, adult home No dogs No other cats (unless adopted together) Plenty of love, patience, and one-on-one attention Their family has noticed occasional litter box accidents since the household became much busier with a young child. Because this behavior began only after the major change in their environment, we believe they will flourish again once they're settled into a peaceful home where they feel secure and can receive the attention they've been missing. Both are spayed/neutered, negative for FeLV/FIV, and have a history of asthma that is currently well managed without medication. Their rabies vaccines are not current because their family observed worsening asthma following vaccination, though their other veterinary care has otherwise been maintained. Most importantly, they are not in danger of entering a shelter. Their loving family is committed to keeping them safe until the perfect forever home comes along. If you've been dreaming of a calm, affectionate companion—or perhaps a beautiful mother-and-son pair to share your heart and home—Taz and Stella may be exactly who you've been waiting for. ❤️ Help us give these wonderful cats the peaceful second chance they deserve. Please share their story—you never know who might be looking for a pair like them. Story
ALL our cats and dogs are in the NY area but can be adopted out of state to the purrfect furever home.  In some cases, we can help transport.  Zani's al fresco Summer Adoptions  follow us on FB to find us this summer as we will try new locations to meet the needs of NYC and support the little stores:)     Ravioli Update:  Ravioli is a one eyed pirate full of spirit. She's a young two year old who prefers to be the alpha diva or can fly solo if you can provide dedicated play time. She gets along with other cats but needs a slow introduction. She likes wand toys and hanging out up high. She's affectionate and chatty. She's a particular eater and does not vibe with fish. So no fish on her menu.  She is absolutely beautiful now that she has filled out and fluffed up (new pics coming).  Please apply if you are looking for a dom or a solo girl (fyi: dominant cats do well w/ other doms). Ravioli Petite Pirate arrived in April 2026 from Saudi. She is a small one eyed kitty who tends to take the reins in her home:) She is cuddly and loves to play so needs an active home. Herstory: left behind pregnant, hungry and scared, without any survival instincts, she lost her eye in a cat fight. She is very sweet and friendly but after losing her eye she became stressed initially in cat company. She could be a solo but, if so, she would like a stay at home mom or dad:) All kittens are adoptable in pairs only unless another age appropriate cat is in residence.  Most of our adult cats also like cat company (most fosters are multicat homes).  Please read the following article on cat food to see why no dry: www.catinfo.org  Facebook:Zani's Furry Friends ZFF (weekly adoption event info posted there) Twitter: zanisff Instagram: zanisfurryfriends   All cats are in the NY area.  Cats are spayed/neutered, UTD on age appropriate vaccines, Rabies vaxed, and microchipped.  All are in the NY/NJ area but we will adopt out of state to the purrfect home and in some cases, we can arrange transport.  Please go to our site      https://zanisfurryfriends.org      fill out an application and return to   cats@zanisfurryfriends.org   Please note: kittens must be adopted in pairs or to households with age appropriate cat(s) to ensure proper socialization and companionship. NO exceptions! If you would prefer a solo cat, we would be happy to recommend those cats who would do best as solo cats. All our cats are tested for feline leukemia and FIV, FVRCP and Rabies vaxed and also microchipped.   Many of us (cats/dogs) will be on display on Saturdays or Sundays, weather dependent.  Please ask by writing us at cats@zanisfurryfriends.org and following us on FB. If you are seriously interested in adopting one of us in particular, please fill out an application. Usually we are in our foster homes so this is a bit more stressful and a slightly artificial environment but we do want to be seen and find our furever homes too. Please come!
