Story
11 year old Koala is a calm, sweet, and loving cat. She can be shy/timid at first, but once she feels safe, she will warm up to you. Koala is strictly an indoor cat. She has never been around dogs. She has only been around her longtime cat companion, who sadly passed away. She has been around young children and has not shown any aggression, but is visibly uncomfortable. Koala would likely do best in a calm and quiet environment where she can spend the rest of her days in peace.

Story
HISTORY: AVALON was brought to F&F as a stray, and found to be FIV+. However, as is typical with many FIV+ cats, this cat has no symptoms, is in excellent health and expected to live a normal lifespan. While conventional thinking is to only place an FIV+ cat in a home with no other cats or with another FIV+ cat, there are many “mixed households.” According to Cornell University, the primary mode of Feline Immunodeficiency Virus (FIV) transmission is through repeated fights resulting in the exchange of blood, and it poses no threat to humans or other species. If you would like to consider AVALON for adoption but need more information on FIV, educational materials can be requested by emailing adoptions@fandfnm.org. TEMPERAMENT: AVALON is a gentle, sweet girl with a soft meow, an adorable white moustache, and four perfect white toe socks. She becomes a loving cuddle bug once she feels safe, and can be won over with Churu, chin scritches, and belly rubs. She has beautiful long hair and enjoys being brushed, which helps keep her coat mat-free. AVALON does best in a home with other cats and would enjoy having friendly kitty companions. AVALON would do well in a calm home where she can feel secure, build trust, and form a lifelong bond with her new family.  AGE:   born approx. 6/5/24  MICROCHIP #:   -3639  DATE OF STERILIZATION:   spayed, date unknown  VAX RECORD:   FVRCP #1: 1/5/26, FVRCP #2: pending; FVRCP expires: pending; Rabies expires: 1/5/27  FELV/FIV test:  1/5/26: FeLV Negative, FIV Positive  ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:  ADOPTION FEE: $100         If you may be interested in adopting, please complete our online application: https://www.fandfnm.org/application.
