Story
Hello, I'm Purrcy. I had a very loving home with my person but now she isn't able to take care of me. She made sure I got to the safety of Desert Haven and now I'm in search of my second and final loving home. I am very playful and active. I am an excellent user of my litter box. I have beautiful manners and I'm gentle and sweet. I fall head over heels in love with my family so be ready for the big personality and big love that big orange tabby cats bring to your life! I get a little shy when company comes over and hide. If they stay long enough then I will investigate their worthiness to see if I want to play with them. I usually do, but it does take me a few days to gain comfort. Really, I have big loving eyes for my family and am just super loyal! I am 7 years old and ready to become the ginger that brings the spice to your life! Love, PurrcyVisit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.May 22, 2026, 12:30 pm

Story
Meet Feather (white) and Alex (tuxedo)! Together, this special pair balances out the responsibilities of the Cool Cat Neighborhood: Feather takes care of the welcoming and cat interactions, while Alex makes sure things are running as they should. Their relationship is one that allows them to each shine at what they do best. They come together for mealtimes (they walk over holding tails to the feeders!) and love to sit and observe the Cool Cat Neighborhood from a rooftop in the evenings, as if to sit and reflect on the day and say “we did it once again, didn’t we?” Their relationship is an inspiring one. Feather: Feather has a very deep, caring sensitivity to him. He’s the cat that‘s always excited about our new arrivals. He’s always ready to make the new arrivals feel comfortable. Feather plays with them, lays by them. This gorgeous (just look at all his pictures, we had to share them all!) 2 year old has grown lots in confidence with his human friends during his time here so far. He loves to play with the wand, takes treats directly from the hand, and allows for pets here and there. Alex: Alex is the coolest cat of the Cool Cat Neighborhood. And you have to be if you’re gonna be running the whole place! He watches over the village from the rooftop pictured below making sure everything is going a-ok, from designated nap spots being respected and that everyone gets a treat. He chuckles when he sees other cats rolling around in catnip uncontrollably. But, we’ve caught Alex trying out catnip himself. Alex’s job requires that he walk around large and fluffy. A regal lion. But, underneath all that fluff is a sweetheart who has come around to taking treats directly from the volunteers and allowing them to come right up to him for life advice. Some have even touched his tail!Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.March 9, 2026, 10:28 am

Story
Meet Puddy, a mini black puma. Puddy enjoys spending her days hanging out with many of the cats of the Cool Cat Neighborhood, especially Alex and Feather. It can take Puddy some time to warm up to her human friends, but when she does you've gained a wonderful friendship. When she comes up to you to say things like 'hello' and 'I love you', she says it with the softest of meows. It's almost like a little puff of air with a hint of meow. Petsies are her favorite, she especially enjoys butt and head scratches. She'll also take treats directly from your hand and even give you licks aka kisses! Schedule an appointment today to meet Puddy! Message us today right here on Petfinder, or text/call 575-740-0643, e-mail DHanimalrescue@gmail.com! We will coordinate with you to find the PURR-fect date and time.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.March 9, 2026, 10:28 am

Story
Hello! I'm Hannah! I'm a dilute tortie baby girl who thinks there is absolutely no such thing as too much snuggling! I love to play, wrestle, sleep, eat, use the litter box, snuggle a spell, then do it all again! But my all time favorite thing to do is to crawl into your lap and cuddle with you. I am a super duper snuggler that's for sure!    My birthday is March 6, 2026 so I'm still a wee babe of a girl kitten but I got raised right by my mama which means I got well nourished with mama's milk all the way up until I was 8 weeks old. Lucky me!    I loved my mama Elsa! She mothered us babies real well. I also got very well socialized by all the fabulous volunteers at Desert Haven. They made sure to help us love people to bits and bits! I will be able to fit into any type of home: kids, cats, dogs, I love everyone!    I am a good eater, user of the litter box, I'm great at playing, and most of all don't even think of adopting me if you don't love to snuggle! I'm a true prize of a kitten. Can't wait to meet you!   Love, HannahVisit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.May 22, 2026, 12:30 pm

Story
This cat is black beauty Inkspot! Inkspot has made huge strides in gaining confidence around her fellow human friends. She roams around comfortably while people are visiting and she even allows treats to be set right in front of her! Inkspot was found by a homeowner as a stray living outside on her property. The home owner gave her the name Inkspot and fed her for a few years while Inkspot stayed around her property. After a few years, the homeowner finally was able to get Inkspot into a trap and she brought her to Desert Haven for safety and love and care. Once at Desert Haven she got all the care she had been needing. Inkspot had to have surgery to amputate her tail due to a severe infection. She’s now feeling better than ever! Given the nature of the surgery Inkspot is now on nerve pain medication and will need treatment her entire life to ensure she’s living the most comfortable life possible. Inkspot lives at Desert Haven now and eventually may be ready to have the home she deserves. Let's cheer her on!Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.March 9, 2026, 10:28 am
