Story
HISTORY: CLARK originally came to F&F when he was facing euthanasia due to lack of space at a shelter in Southern NM. He was adopted by his foster but recently returned to F&F when she could no longer care for him. TEMPERAMENT:  CLARK is a sweet old man who sleeps most of the time. He has diabetes which is managed by twice daily injections, which he tolerates with head pats. CLARK is intimidated by other cats and dogs, and grumbles if they come too close. A quiet home with no dogs or kitties would be best for him. He enjoys sitting on a quiet lap, and loves gentle pets on his head and under his chin.  AGE:  born approx.  6/15/15  MICROCHIP #:  -4167 DATE OF STERILIZATION:  neutered, date unknown  VAX RECORD:  FVRCP expires: 6/15/21, age exempt from updates; Rabies expires: 10/14/28 FELV/FIV test:  7/21/20, 8/11/25 neg    ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: CLARK has diabetes that is managed by twice daily insulin injections, and daily blood glucose checks.  If you may be interested in adopting, please complete our online application: https://www.fandfnm.org/application. HISTORY: CHEZ and CAZ were surrendered to F&F in 2025. CAZ was adopted but later returned when his owner could no longer care for him.  TEMPERAMENT: Caz is a big boy who loves to help you stay warm. You can turn down your thermostat this winter with the original heater cat on your lap, while his giant purr and habit of looking at you with his big green eyes will warm your very heart and soul. He likes to chase a string, even if mostly while lying down. That's exercise too, isn't it? He will prefer his human to be home but won't complain if he's on his own; he'll just be happy to see you.  AGE:   born approx. 5/16/2014 MICROCHIP #: -9207 DATE OF STERILIZATION: 11/12/14 VAX RECORD:  FVRCP: 4/9/25, FVRCP #2: 6/2/26; FVRCP expires: 6/2/27; Rabies expires: 6/2/27FELV/FIV test:  4/9/25 neg  ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: ADOPTION FEE: $100  If you may be interested in adopting, please complete our online application: https://www.fandfnm.org/application. Story
HISTORY: MR. GRAY was brought to F&F when his owner could no longer care for him and is FIV+. However, as is typical with many FIV+ cats, this cat has no symptoms, is in excellent health and expected to live a normal lifespan. While conventional thinking is to only place an FIV+ cat in a home with no other cats or with another FIV+ cat, there are many “mixed households.” According to Cornell University, the primary mode of Feline Immunodeficiency Virus (FIV) transmission is through repeated fights resulting in the exchange of blood, and it poses no threat to humans or other species.   TEMPERAMENT: MR. GRAY is a quiet baby who loves love. He enjoys chin scratches and his warm bed. He is sure to make the sweetest companion.  AGE:   born approx. 7/24/20 MICROCHIP #: -3611 DATE OF STERILIZATION: neutered, date unknown VAX RECORD:  FVRCP #1: 4/6/26, FVRCP #2: pending; FVRCP expires: pending; Rabies expires: 3/30/29  FELV/FIV test:  7/24/23 FIV+, FELV- ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: If you would like to consider MR. GRAY for adoption but need more information on FIV, educational materials can be requested by emailing adoptions@fandfnm.org.  ADOPTION FEE: $100  If you may be interested in adopting, please complete our online application: https://www.fandfnm.org/application. Story
HISTORY: DUCK was rescued from Canoncito along with fellow Tabby LLAMA and her babies. He was brought to F&F for a chance at adoption. TEMPERAMENT: DUCK is a playful young Tabby who can't resist a wand toy - especially if the wand has feathers. He is shy with people, but the way to his heart is patience and lots of treats. DUCK is submissive with other cats and doesn't seem to mind sharing space with another gentle kitty. He has gained self-confidence in his time at our rescue and is now ready to find his forever home. AGE:   born approx. 11/28/2023 MICROCHIP #: -7686  DATE OF STERILIZATION:  5/28/24  VAX RECORD:  FVRCP #1: 5/28/24, FVRCP #2: 6/21/24; FVRCP expires: 2/2/27; Rabies expires: 1/15/27   FELV/FIV test:  5/28/24 neg  ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:  ADOPTION FEE: $100  If you may be interested in adopting, please complete our online application: https://www.fandfnm.org/application.
