Meet Clementine, or Clemmie for short. 🧡
Clemmie puts the cat in scaredy-cat.
He is not mean. He is not aggressive. He is just scared.
Clementine is a sweet ginger tabby boy who has now spent 75 days in the shelter, and shelter life has been hard on him. He tends to hide, watch from a distance, and take his time deciding when he feels safe enough to come closer.
In a busy shelter full of unfamiliar people, barking dogs, noise, and constant activity, that can make it difficult for adopters to see the sweet cat underneath all that uncertainty.
But shy does not mean unfriendly.
Clemmie is gentle and does well with other cats, although he can take some time to adjust to a new feline friend. And, well, those of us who are cat people know that is pretty much par for the course when cats are making new friends. Sometimes introductions take a little time before everyone agrees they can coexist without filing a formal complaint. 😂
He is not a fan of dogs, so a dog-free home would be the best fit for him.
Clementine is already neutered and ready for adoption.
He may not be the cat who runs to the front of the kennel and demands attention. He may need someone who understands that trust can take time.
What Clemmie needs most is patience, consistency, and a quiet place where he can finally feel safe enough to stop watching life from afar and start being part of it.
After 75 days in the shelter, we would really love to see him get that chance.
