Story
Meet Flipper 🦭, a unique cat I've had the pleasure of caring for since he was eight weeks old. Flipper experienced physical trauma either at birth or shortly after, which has resulted in a permanent gait abnormality. Recent X-rays have confirmed that his spinal injury has healed, but his hind legs remain turned outward, causing him to walk with a distinctive seal-like gait (which does not slow him down or stop him from doing anything any other cat can do). The vet assures me that Flipper is not in any pain and surgery is unnecessary. Flipper prefers not to be held, but with the assistance of positive reinforcement, such as the use of chicken, we are making progress, as evidenced by the purrs he exhibited today. He has shown significant improvement in tolerating pets. Given his feral birth and subsequent injuries, Flipper necessitates an adopter who embodies patience and understanding, investing time to establish trust. He coexists harmoniously with other felines and is likely to adapt well to canine companions. His medical profile includes being neutered, vaccinated, and tested negative for feline AIDS and Leukemia. https://bit.ly/fofadoptionapplication

Story
Willow is a quiet, independent girl. She only likes to be held for short periods of time but loves pets and cheek scratches. She will need a family with patience to allow her time to adjust to a new home. She will let you love on her in her own time. She is used to being around other cats but has not been around dogs. A quiet home is preferred.

Story
Ember found herself living at the Edgefield Recycling center having litter after litter. The current caretaker was allowed to feed her, but not permitted to leave shelter. With the brutal weather we had in January, she came to live with me until the weather warmed up, but she is way too friendly to release back outside. She's was tested recently for feline aids and leukemia and she was negative for both. She's extremely friendly 4 year old ready for the domesticated life. She's great with other cats and did not even need time to adjust to the indoor lifestyle (She just accepted it). She is passive but not fearful. She's been fixed, she's up to date on her shots and she is microchipped! Please apply if interested in adopting. https://bit.ly/fofadoptionapplication

Story
Please open your 💗 to Phoenix and share. We can't keep saving them if there is no home for them once they are healed.Following an extensive recovery period marked by multiple surgeries and daily wound care spanning a year and a half, Phoenix has attained complete healing. Despite an earlier attempt to find him a home, interest waned, likely due to his FIV-positive status. To clarify, FIV positivity doesn't pose a transmission risk in a serene multi-cat environment, as Phoenix's cohabitation with 12 FIV-negative cats confirms. Phoenix has had one documented health issue during my care - an upper respiratory infection that responded well to treatment. His health overall is good, his teeth are healthy (he had a checkup at the end of December) and his immune system is responding appropriately. https://bestfriends.org/pet-care-resources/fiv-cats-feline-immunodeficiency-virus-faqsPhoenix's past is marred by intentional cruelty, including severe acid burn covering a substantial portion of his neck, shoulders, and back. Picture in comments. Despite this, Phoenix displays remarkable resilience, seeking human interaction and snuggling. With his adoption now ready to move forward, I seek a prospective owner willing to provide this loving cat with a stable home. He deserves the best!https://bit.ly/fofadoptionapplication
