Meet Rain! Rain is incredibly sweet, affectionate, and happiest when he's getting attention from his people. At 6 years old, he was surrendered by his family who could no longer take care of him, and is now looking for his forever family. He loves attention, is a pretty confident cat, and he even loves belly rubs! With Rain, you'll always have a 100% chance of love in your forecast! While we all love a chonky cat, at 19.6 pounds, this lovable guy is on a weight-loss journey! While he of course loves treats, he's not overly food motivated, and he loves to explore and play. He's surprisingly nimble and loves pulling himself up his cat tower, so we think that with proper portion control around meal time and regular play, he'll slim down gradually! Rain was surrendered due to inappropriate urination in his former home, which is why he was moved into a foster home. He's been a perfect gentleman with his bathroom habits, and has had 0 issues since he's been with our shelter! We do have an XL litterbox with a low entry for him due to his size, scooped once a day, and he's been perfectly happy with it. He also drinks an average amount of water, hasn't shown any symptoms of discomfort in his foster home or upon a vet's physical examination, and (while overweight) presents as a happy, healthy boy! He has no history of urinary blockages. At this time, we do not have any reason to suspect that Rain is prone to UTIs or has any early onset kidney disease. Meet Ethel! 💚 Ethel is a beautiful 2 year old brown tabby with the most striking bright green eyes. She’s a sweet, gentle girl who may be a little reserved at first, but once she’s comfortable, her affectionate personality shines. She gets braver every day! Ethel loves being petted and has the cutest way of asking for more - she’ll hop right up to your hand to let you know she’d like you to keep going! She's truly a snuggle bug, and would hang out with you all day if you let her! She’s a lovely girl who would thrive with someone who will give her a little time to settle in and let her sweet personality come through. New spaces are scary, and she tends to find a hidey spot to survey the situation from, but she's always gentle and open to pets! Ethel has SO much love to give and would make a wonderful companion! I found this kitten out walking one night, it is feral but surprisingly social and sweet. I found her digging in the dirt for bugs to eat, she was skin and bones. During the time I have had her, now a couple of weeks, she instantly took to the litter box and does not cry ever except for feeding times which she has gotten to know. She has started gaining weight. I took her to my vet, they said the same thing how sweet and social it was. There she was given the rabies vaccine and was tested for Feline Leukemia, Feline Herpes and Heart Worm - she was clear of all. She keeps one eye partially closed - she is in need of entropion eyelid surgery on her right eye which repositions the eyelid so its edge sits normally against the eye instead of curling inward. Veterinary ophthalmologists routinely perform it and it has a high success rate. I am looking for an experienced fosterer who can give her the care she needs to recover from surgery and eventually get rehomed.
