Story
Meet Edie! Edie is a petite, senior gal who recently lost her owner and is now on the search for a new home. We have made some progress with her socially but most days she is content just being left alone. Her life has been turned upside down so this is to be expected with any senior animal trying to adjust to a new life without their person. Edie needs a home that is quiet, no kids, more than likely no other animals, and just space and time. Right now she isn't an affectionate cat but maybe some day she can open up her heart to a new family. She enjoys her lickable cat treats and has allowed pets while she is eating her favorite snack. We would love to find her a nice retirement home to live out the rest of her days in peace. She is only 9 years old so she could have a few good years left. Story
Meet Moon! Moon is a middle aged male cat that was surrendered to our shelter when his owner passed away and no one was able to care for him. We were told the Moon is 4 - 6 years old, and he is big brown tabby and white kitty. Moon's life was turned upside down when his owner died so we have been slowly trying to win him over through short daily interactions, offering treats, and attention when he will accept it. Going from one main caregiver to a shelter setting is really hard on most animals like Moon. Moon was previously in a home with other cats but due to limited information at time of surrender we cannot confirm that he interacted well with the other cats. At this time we feel Moon would do best as the only cat in a quiet home with someone who is just looking for some extra company but is expecting a companion that is always seeking out attention. Shy cats like Moon can become some of the most loving cats once they meet a person who is patient enough to let them bond at their own pace. Story
Meet Camilla! Camilla is a beautiful 6 - 10 year old Tortoiseshell cat that came into our care as a stray, and went unclaimed. When she first came in it was apparent that she had been on her own for quite some time. She was under weight, covered in fleas, dealing with some hair loss due to fleas, and just in need of some TLC. We got her to the vet right away and it was noted at that time that she had a distended belly due to fluid build up. Her diagnosis was FIP, Feline Infectious Peritonitis. This diagnosis used to be a terminal illness for cats but recently a treatment was found to help cats defeat FIP. Our shelter was able to get funding for the treatment and so far Camilla is responding very well after being on the medication for a full month. While Camilla isn't out of the woods yet as she still has a couple months left of treatment we have high hopes that she can defeat FIP. Despite Camilla having FIP and not feeling the best in the beginning she has always been a super sweet cat that loves to get attention from anyone that will stop to pet her. Since she is older she doesn't seem to have the desire to play but she does explore at a leisurely pace. She also enjoys snuggling up in a fluffy warm bed and would make someone a great snuggle partner. Story
Meet Dash! Dash was surrendered to our shelter when his owner had to go into assisted living and no one was left to care for him. We were told Dash is around 4 years old, and he is a very handsome cat that has buff orange coloring, and striking eyes. Dash is a bit of a shy/reserved cat but once you start scratching his chin and ears he will be leaning in for more. As we spend more time with Dash his confidence starts growing more and more everyday. From going to a quiet home with one caregiver to a shelter setting can be a lot for any animal so we know he just needs time to adjust to his surroundings. He would be the perfect cat for someone that is looking for a little extra companionship but not wanting the energy of a young kitten.
