EXERCISE NEEDS: Daily Workout EASE OF TRAINING: Capable FRIENDLINESS WITH PEOPLE: Loves Everyone PLAYFULNESS: Semi-Pro FRIENDLINESS WITH DOGS: Social LEASH MANNERS: Pulls Sometimes Meet Seymour: The Professional Cuddle Expert Age: 2 Year Old Breed: Catahoula Leopard Dog Mix If you are looking for the most calm, loving, and well-adjusted dog in the building, look no further than Seymour. While his name is a play on his partial vision, the truth is that Seymour "sees" more with his heart than most dogs. After a year in our care, he has become the staff favorite for his gentle soul and his absolute dedication to the art of the lounge. Seymour came to us as a puppy in November 2024, and has been looking for the right people ever since. His sweet and gentle, cuddly personality made him a staff favorite and we cannot figure out how or why he is still here! Everyone who has ever taking him out on a Doggy Date or kept him for a Sleepover have amazing things to say about how well he behaves outside of the shelter, but he just has not found the right fit yet. Why Seymour is the Perfect Companion? 1. He believes snuggling is his full-time job. If you’re on the couch, he wants to be right there with you. 2.He's a social butterfly and truly loves every human he meets and gets along famously with other dogs. 3.He accepts treats and food with the utmost politeness. 4. Unlike some pups, Seymour is a dream in the car and loves going for rides to see the world. 5. Though he has some vision impairment, his "internal GPS" is top-notch. He navigates most environments with impressive ease. Life With Seymour: Because Seymour is deaf, he relies on his other senses—especially his sense of connection to his people. He thrives on companionship and can sometimes be a bit vocal when he realizes his favorite humans aren't in the room. He isn't being "loud"; he’s just calling out for a little reassurance that you're still nearby! Training & Tools Seymour is a fast learner! Because he can see shapes and movement, he has excelled with hand signals and sign language. We have had great success using Acorns DEAFinitely Awesome Dictionary of Signs, which makes communicating with him fun and easy. There are also vibration collars that can be used to assist training for dogs that are hearing impaired. All of these tools are available online! Seymour is a living testament to the fact that a "special needs" dog is really just a "special" dog who has so much more love to give. Are you ready to be the person this handsome boy has been waiting a year for? Come meet our favorite professional lounger today!

Story
Bella is two years old. She loves the dog park. She loves to run and play. She finished basic training and walks on a leash. She is good with kids and other dogs. She will chase a cat but not harm him. She licks ours so he avoids her. She has lots of personality. She needs someone who can handle a large dog. She is being rehomed because my elderly mother doesn't feel comfortable around her because of her size.

Story
Little Ms. Lady was found running back and forth across a highway as a puppy. She's now three years old and is looking for her forever home! She does need to be an only pet (she doesn't share attention well) without any small/young children in the home, since they make her nervous. She's incredibly intelligent, willful, and most of all loving. She is looking for someone who can really center her in their home. She LOVES cuddles and playtime (stuffies are her favorite) and most of all food! She needs someone who can keep her active as she is a high-energy breed and gets bored easily, but she will most definitely be happy to curl up on the couch or in bed with you at the end of the night. She LOVES people but doesn't do well in public as busy environments make her really nervous. She's a super goofy, curious girl that enjoys learning new tricks! She does have prescription medication for her anxiety and will be rehomed with supplies. Please, if you're interested apply and let's talk more!

Story
our beautiful Oakley boy is a good boy with a bit of a temper. He is house trained and knows a few commands (sit, stay, stand up tall , shake, lay down) he’s a very smart boy and has many good qualities but he shows food aggression and authority aggression. He doesn’t like being told what to do he likes to do things at his own pace. We live in a household with 5 children and they can be a lot for a boy who doesn’t want them messing with him he has a lot of good qualities and it pains us to let him go because he’s part of our family. He is leash trained, trained to not leave the yard, and very protective of his owner. Please help us find our boy a loving home

Beware the cuteness 😍😍 Our sweet mama Ruby’s puppies are now accepting applications! These sweet babies are Catahoula/Shepherd mixes and too.stinking.cute. ❤️ We simply adore them and their chubby selves! These babies were born into disaster— rural animal control facility, little resources, outdoors - a very bad fate for newborn puppies. Luckily, we were able to step in and change their lives for the better. They all survived and now have a chance at a happy, healthy life! They are about 8 weeks old now and will be spayed/neutered, vaccinated UTD and microchipped prior to adoption. They are typical puppies that will need ongoing training and socialization to thrive. Looking for some puppy fun and chaos to add to your life? Apply online at https://www.southernstatesbullyrescue.org/blank 📍Clearwater FL 📝 NOTE: we do not hold puppies and once approved, you are expected to meet/pickup within 48-72 hours.
