Story
Beth is estimated to be 3-4-year-old Catahoula mix with a heart as big as her love for walks and car rides, or simply just hanging out. She’s not just well-behaved—she’s exceptional. House-trained and respectful, Beth doesn’t need a kennel and walks beautifully on a leash, always matching your pace. She’s considerate, waiting patiently before going down the stairs until you’re ready to head down/up the stairs. Beth has shown no interest in the resident cat and has done well with the dogs she’s met, especially those who are calm and non-dominant her size or smaller. Beth has lived with a miniature schnauzer and a cat. They all lived in an RV together. Her teeth are in great shape, suggesting she’s still young, yet she has the demeanor of a well-trained mature dog. Beth is an absolute joy to be around and would make a fantastic companion for someone who can appreciate her gentle/chill nature and loving personality. Beth truly deserves a wonderful family who will cherish her as much as she’ll cherish them. If you’re looking for a loyal, affectionate, and well-mannered companion, Beth is the one for you! Email us at: adoptions@tlovrescue.org Apply to set up a meet and greet: http://tlovrescue.org/adoption-applications/ Thank you for your interest in Beth and we look forward to hearing from you soon!

Story
Updated 3/1/2026: Jackson is a sweet, silly hound mix. He was born in late June 2022 and has reached his full-grown size at about 75 pounds. We do not know his exact breed mix. The adoption fee for Jackson is $200. He has been neutered and microchipped. He's receiving monthly flea and heartworm prevention. Jackson did fantastic with crate training as he recovered from his neuter. He's quite smart and followed another dog through the doggie door right away. He's friendly and picks up on things quickly. Jackson is patiently waiting for a forever family. He was first listed here in November 2022; he's been in the foster program so long that he recently had another annual exam and received his 3-year rabies and distemper/lepto vaccines. Jackson is a playful, adventurous and athletic pup. He'll need some continued work on leash-walking. (He hasn't had much practice and can be a bit of a bowling ball - but he's certainly willing to learn!) His ideal home would have a large, fenced yard (6-foot) so he can sniff, explore and zoom. (He has not been introduced to young children or cats.) He lives with his sister, Sioux, and can be a bit food aggressive towards her. He might do best as an only dog. There's a video of him romping with 3 of his siblings here: https://youtu.be/BoszRFevA7M (He has one sister, Sioux, who is also still available for adoption.) If you want more information about Jackson, call or text Jody at 352-316-5155 or email her at SCRWestLevy@gmail.com. Thanks for your interest in adopting - and for your patience as we are an all-volunteer rescue! (We do keep our posts current! Sometimes we have to repost a pup when an adoption falls through. Thanks for understanding.) - - - - - PS. Second Chance Rescue posts our pets on AdoptAPet.com. While we are grateful that AdoptAPet shares their information with partner sites, including Overstock and PetHarbor and others, we don't have any control over how frequently those partner sites update their content. Therefore, if you're interested in a particular animal, we encourage you to visit www.adoptapet.com/2ndChRescue/ for the most up-to-date status, description, pictures and/or video of a particular pet.

Story
Meet Denali 🤎🐾 Denali is a Catahoula Leopard Dog/Lab mix with the kind of presence that makes you pause. Even as a puppy, he carries himself like an old soul — calm, thoughtful, and deeply sweet. While his siblings may be busy bouncing around, Denali is often the one taking it all in, quietly observing before melting into your side for snuggles. He has the softest way about him — the kind of puppy who rests his head on you and makes the whole world feel still for a moment. He loves to cuddle, thrives on gentle affection, and already shows signs of being a loyal, steady companion. With the intelligence of a Catahoula and the loving nature of a Lab, Denali is going to grow into a devoted best friend who bonds deeply with his people. If you’re looking for a calm heart, a soulful gaze, and a snuggle partner for life, Denali is waiting. 💛 If you are interested in learning more about this puppy, please complete an application by visiting http://www.floridaurgentrescue.com/adopt. Please note that submitted applications will be given priority over inquiries. We receive many inquiries and may not be able to answer them in a timely manner. We start all of our adoptions with a one week sleepover to ensure a good fit for everyone. ***Please note that we are a volunteer run organization, and due to the large volume of applications, inquiries, phone calls, emails, and messages received we may not be able to provide a personal response to every one. For that reason, formal applications will be given priority over the aforementioned.*** Adoption Process 1. Submit Application 2. Interview 3. Home Check 4. Meet the Pet The adoption fee for puppies 6 months and under is $225; this includes the spay/neuter, rabies, microchip, and current vaccinations as of the date of adoption.
