Story
Luna is a 2.5 old girl that loves the adults and 12 year old in our home. Sweet as can be for us. She does not do well with other dogs and we cannot train the instinct out of her to chase our cats everywhere. We are re-homing because when our boys ‘fight’ she gets involved and bites our two younger boys. We’ve trained professionally and continue trying everything possible, but we fear something terrible will eventually happen with our younger boys, or even worse, their friends. She needs an adult/older kids home where she is the sole attention getter to live her best life. She loves to cuddle us, sit in a chair by the window to watch outside, and will chase squeaky balls from sunrise to sunset, or until her lungs collapse. Perfect dog for DINK couple or empty-nesters with no visiting grandkids. We rescued her ~2 years ago and really want to find a home where she will thrive and live out her days.

Story
Beth is estimated to be 3-4-year-old Catahoula mix with a heart as big as her love for walks and car rides, or simply just hanging out. She’s not just well-behaved—she’s exceptional. House-trained and respectful, Beth doesn’t need a kennel and walks beautifully on a leash, always matching your pace. She’s considerate, waiting patiently before going down the stairs until you’re ready to head down/up the stairs. Beth has shown no interest in the resident cat and has done well with the dogs she’s met, especially those who are calm and non-dominant her size or smaller. Beth has lived with a miniature schnauzer and a cat. They all lived in an RV together. Her teeth are in great shape, suggesting she’s still young, yet she has the demeanor of a well-trained mature dog. Beth is an absolute joy to be around and would make a fantastic companion for someone who can appreciate her gentle/chill nature and loving personality. Beth truly deserves a wonderful family who will cherish her as much as she’ll cherish them. If you’re looking for a loyal, affectionate, and well-mannered companion, Beth is the one for you! Story
I am a sweet boy just looking for a forever family and home to call my own. I have an overall mellow demeanor, a heart full of love, and a gentle spirit. Not to brag, but have you ever seen a coat this stunning? I walk nicely on a leash, sit for treats like a gentleman, and am already housebroken! I am all about the simple pleasures in life - a nice walk by your side, some belly rubs, and quiet time together. I am sweet as can be and just waiting for someone to shower me with love and loyalty. Could that be you? Astro is a charming, affectionate, smart boy who loves walks, treats, toys, and being by your side!Astro came into our shelter in 2022 as a stray, was adopted for 3 years, and was recently surrendered due to his previous owners` moving. He is looking for a loving, forever family.House-trained - Walks well on leash - Weighs around 65 lbs - Very affectionate, loves car rides - Great with other dogs! Has done well at the Good Times Dog Bar in Flagler Beach with both small and large dogs :)

I put infant young child because I didn't know what to put down. This is Perry he is a sweet boy. Looking for a home or even just a foster home for now till my other male dog passes. Due to my other male dog being aggressive to Perry I want him to go to someone he will be safe with. He deserves to be safe and happy. Id love to still be able to see him or hear about him from time to time if possible but mainly just want him to live a happy life away from from the other boy. He is good with kids and cats. I have two kids and 4 cats and another female dogs and of course the other male dog.

Story
Updated 12/5/2025: Jackson is a sweet, silly hound mix. He was born in late June 2022 and has reached his full-grown size at about 75 pounds. We do not know his exact breed mix. The adoption fee for Jackson is $200. He has been neutered and microchipped. He's receiving monthly flea and heartworm prevention. Jackson did fantastic with crate training as he recovered from his neuter. He's quite smart and followed another dog through the doggie door right away. He's friendly and picks up on things quickly. Jackson is patiently waiting for a forever family. He was first listed here in November 2022; he's been in the foster program so long that he recently had another annual exam and received his 3-year rabies and distemper/lepto vaccines. Jackson is a playful, adventurous and athletic pup. He'll need some continued work on leash-walking. (He hasn't had much practice and can be a bit of a bowling ball - but he's certainly willing to learn!) His ideal home would have a large, fenced yard (6-foot) so he can sniff, explore and zoom. (He has not been introduced to young children or cats.) He lives with his sister, Sioux, and can be a bit food aggressive towards her. He might do best as an only dog. There's a video of him romping with 3 of his siblings here: https://youtu.be/BoszRFevA7M (He has one sister, Sioux, who is also still available for adoption.) If you want more information about Jackson, call or text Jody at 352-316-5155 or email her at SCRWestLevy@gmail.com. Thanks for your interest in adopting - and for your patience as we are an all-volunteer rescue! (We do keep our posts current! Sometimes we have to repost a pup when an adoption falls through. Thanks for understanding.) - - - - - PS. Second Chance Rescue posts our pets on AdoptAPet.com.
