I am a sweet and gorgeous young lady who was surrendered through no fault of my own, and I’m hoping my next stop will be my forever home. My previous owner reported that I am house-trained and already know lots of commands, including “sit”, “come”, “paw”, “stay”, “down”, and “heel”—so you could say I’m a pretty smart girl! I’m friendly with other dogs and enjoy being around children of all ages, making me a wonderful potential family companion. Some of my favorite things are going for walks and car rides, especially when I get to spend time with my people. I’m ready to leave shelter life behind and find a family who will love me for all the wonderful years ahead. I am a gentle, friendly young man who sadly arrived at the shelter after being found as a stray in pretty rough condition - skinny and malnourished. There is no telling what my life looked like before I got here. What I am focusing on is my dream of getting a second chance at life with a loving (forever) family. Despite a rough start in life, I am affectionate and love getting gentle attention from my favorite people. I walk well on a leash and enjoy going for long strolls. I am so ready for a fresh start with a patient, loving family who will help me continue to heal and finally enjoy the comfort and security I know I deserve. We took Bolt after the death of his owner. He has been a very good smart dog, but our other dog has not gotten used to him. we have had him a couple years but not working out with our original dog. He has been around kids cats and kittens and is gentle with all.

We adopted Cooper from the shelter back in 2018. They estimated him to be five years old at that time. We have children, cats, other dogs, and had chickens in the yard for a long time. He has always been fine with them. He did have an incident with my niece back in 2018 where she jumped on him and he snapped at her. He has always been fine with my kids but we have always kept him away from guests as a precaution even though nothing happened further.I have gone back to work and it’s getting harder to give him what he needs for attention. He is house trained and knows to go outside to use the bathroom. He can show food aggression at times and will growl. He has come a long way with that.

He is a 44-pound, lovable and playful dog who is fully vaccinated and microchipped. Our veterinarian estimates that he will be 2 years old in November. We rescued him when he was approximately 6 months old, and he has been a wonderful!!He is fully house-trained and crate-trained and does very well with children and other dogs. He has a fun, affectionate personality and loves attention and playtime.One thing to note is that he can be very territorial and protective of his female owner, so this is something we want to be completely honest about with anyone fostering or caring for him. He is very loyal and forms strong attachments to his person.He  is a sweet, loving, energetic dog who would do best with someone who understands his protective nature and can continue providing him with structure, love, and guidance.
