Star was rescued in Louisiana. A lady that found her called me and said that she could not find a rescue group in Louisiana to take her. She had a gunshot wound through her jaw and ear. She was in pain. She brought her to me in Mississippi, and I got her the medical treatment that she needed. She had jaw surgery, and now her tongue permanently hangs out. We think this makes her uniquely special!! I know that her tongue hanging out may be a deterrent for a permanent home, but Star is such a sweet baby. She cannot help it that somebody shot her. She is a Catahoula hound, and her tail is docked. Star is a very sweet and loves to ride in the car. She loves dogs, and she loves children. She loves to roll over for a belly rub, and she knows the sit command. She is extremely smart. She loves to load up and ride in the car, and I believe that she was somebody’s baby at one time! Also, if you live out of state we use the most animal-friendly transport on the road. Rescue Riders Pet Transport. We alternate between the Northeast and the Midwest every other weekend.

DINKLEY - HOME FOR THE HOLIDAYS ADOPTION SPECIAL $50 Dinkley will need a special adopter. Someone that can care for his special needs. He is a 1.5 YRS old, 40 pound catahoula mix. He is very energetic and definitely needs help learning his puppy manners still. He is very, very smart. He enjoys wobble feeders, kongs, and puzzle toys. He has not been formally dog tested yet but we are happy to get that officially done, at a later date. After a few initial barks he settled down during a through-fence meeting. Dinkley is just a baby and deserves to live for as long as his heart will let him. Hopefully, he can live a long life with proper medical care! Dinkley has been diagnosed with possible Pulmonary Stenosis. It is under control and the vet feels he has a full life a head of him. He will need to see the cardiologist probably twice a year for follow up. His adoption fee is $50. Iris is very intelligent! She knows basic commands and paw. She even knows how to do agility! She is completely potty and crate trained. She actually enjoys laying in her crate when it is open. She will do anything for a yummy treat. She gets so excited by everyone she meets she does jump around and makes a silly squeal if she really likes you. Iris loves going for walks/ light runs and is a fan of long lead walking in his forest preserve. She even likes to swim! She lives with other dogs, cats, and small animals. She loves playing with other dogs, but prefers dogs who like to play but are laid back. Iris wants to be by your side 24/7. If she could, she loves napping on the couch and beds. Iris is equal parts energy and relax. She can keep up with activities but also loves to cuddle in the evening. She would love a family who can keep her busy and her mind stimulated!

Holly is definitely part herding breed. She likes herding the cats and her sister dog. Holly is super smart and knows basic commands. She even learned agility! Holly is potty trained and crate trained. She loves a good treat! Her absolutely favorite thing in the world is playing fetch and going on walks. Holly also enjoys taking a summer swim every now and again. She is super brave and has been on many adventures. Even more than those things, Holly loves cuddling and napping. She will burrow herself under any blanket. She loves to be right where you are and loves meeting new people. Holly does live with cats, but prefers not to share her food, slippers, shoes or toys. She could get along with a respectable dog, but she would love to be the only dog home if she could. Holly would love a family who wants to cuddle and go outside everyday!
