Story
Meet Sawyer! Sawyer is being fostered in Mississippi, but included in your adoption fee is transport to you by Rescue Riders Pet Transport which is the most animal friendly transport on the road! At approximately months old, Sawyer has already had quite a journey. This handsome boy showed up as a stray, frightened and alone. He was found cowering under a house, clearly terrified and completely lost. Despite every effort to find his family, no owner ever came forward, so now Sawyer is looking for the forever home he truly deserves. Our veterinarian believes Sawyer may be a Catahoula Leopard Dog mix, and at about 55 pounds already, he's going to be a big, athletic boy! Sawyer has blossomed in foster care and is proving to be a wonderful companion. He is crate trained, knows the commands "sit," "down," and "stay," and has excellent house manners. He always takes care of his potty business when he goes outside. One thing that's become clear is that Sawyer was likely an indoor family dog before he was lost. He enjoys playing outside, tossing his toys into the air and chasing after them, but he doesn't like being left outside by himself. The moment he thinks his person is going inside without him, he'll race to the door, eager to be with his family. He loves toys and loves to take them outside to play with them. Sawyer is incredibly smart and observant. He quickly learns routines and pays close attention to everything happening around him. At bedtime, he settles quietly in his crate without a peep. In the morning, he patiently waits until he hears everyone else getting up before he's ready to start his day. This sweet, goofy boy has a playful side that will keep you smiling. He loves chasing bugs (as long as they aren't chasing him! 😊), and the frogs in his foster home's yard haven't had a moment's peace since Sawyer. He is currently being fostered in Mississippi but can be transported to you! Please let us know if you are interested in adopting this sweet boy and we will send you an adoption application! 💲 Adoption Fee: $450 The adoption fee includes: 🐶 Spay/neuter 💉 Vaccinations 🪱 Deworming ❤️ Current heartworm and flea prevention 📍 Microchip 🚚 Transportation to you via Rescue Riders LLC Pet Transport!

Age: 18 Months Good with dogs? Yes Good with cats? Unknown Good with kids? Yes Weight: 34lbs Adoption Fee: $320.00 Any other info: Meet Sutton! This handsome guy has the most unique brindle coat and the prettiest light caramel eyes that are sure to steal your heart. Shelter life can be a lot for Sutton, and all the hustle and bustle can leave him feeling a little overstimulated. But give him a chance to settle in, and you'll see the sweet, playful, loving boy hiding underneath all that shelter stress. Sutton is a smart cookie who's slowly figuring out this whole dog thing! He's learning his commands, discovering how fun toys can be, and even figuring out how to play with people. Watching him learn and gain confidence is part of what makes him so special. He's got so much potential, and he's just waiting for someone to help him discover it all! At just 18 months old, Sutton still has plenty of puppyish fun ahead of him, and we'd love to see him experience it somewhere beyond the shelter walls. He deserves a home where he can take a breath, feel safe, play, learn, and just be someone's beloved boy. Sutton is scheduled to be neutered here and will be microchipped and up to date on age appropriate vaccines at the time of adoption. Sutton has so much love to give and a whole world left to discover. Could you be the person who helps him write his next chapter? Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.CHANCE – Ready for an active, loving home! Basic Info: • Name: Chance • Rescue ID: D250072 • Adoption Fee: $0 - this has been sponsored.  • Breed: Anatolian Shepherd Dog & Catahoula Leopard Dog mix (possible) • Age: 3 • Weight: 65 pounds • Gender: Neutered male • Housetrained: Most likely • Good with other animals: Chance enjoys playing with other dogs of a similar size. Cats unknown. Personality: Chance is a loving, highly intelligent dog eager to learn and please; he thrives when mentally challenged (having a job, when engaged in play, etc). He already knows commands like “sit,” “give paw,” and “down,” and is excited to learn more! Chance should take very well to any additional training. He responds nicely to positive reinforcement, belly rubs, and treats. Chance loves people and is looking for direction, purpose, and a family to call his own. Ideal Home: Chance enjoys 1:1 engagement so a single person or couple would be ideal. He would do well having a fenced yard to run off some energy but consistent leash walking would be acceptable. Chance will do best with an experienced owner familiar with smart, working breeds. He enjoys hiking, playing fetch, and having a “job” that challenges him with consistent training. He walks nicely on a leash but can pull when overly excited, so redirection is key. Due to his size and strength, a home with children over 12 is recommended. Chance loves taking car/truck rides and would enjoy riding shotgun with someone who drives during the day but is home at night.  ✅ Health, Care, & Appearance: • Requires daily exercise and mental stimulation • Vaccinated, neutered, and microchipped • Tall and strikingly handsome with a soft, fluffy coat and an expressive face Location & Adoption Info: Chance is being fostered at Mikey & Me in Chelsea, MI. He is ready to be your best friend!  Apply to meet him at www.happydaysdogandcatrescue.org Happy Days Dog and Cat Rescue microchips all dogs and cats before adoption. Microchips are implanted between the shoulder blades and are another form of identification should the animal get lost. The microchips are registered to    Happy Days Dog and Cat Rescue. The adopter's information is added once the adoption is complete. The adopter is responsible for a $19.99/Year registration fee or a $45.00/Lifetime registration fee to change information.    Dogs and Cats still need to have collar with tags should they get lost. Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.October 23, 2026, 4:43 am

Currently this sweet baby is with our rescue, The Artemis Project, in Arkansas. We DO, however, transport monthly to the metro Detroit area of MI. Because we’re able to transport, we ARE able to accept adoption applications directly from residents of MI. Why do we transport? Because animal overpopulation is severe in our region, and stray and unwanted dogs have very little chance of finding a home here. These babies are, however, at a high risk of being neglected, abused, abandoned, euthanized or even shot (it’s “the way things are done” for some people down here). YOU are truly one of the only safe and happy endings for the lucky ones we are able to rescue. Upon approval of your adoption application, we will then transport your new furbaby to you in the metro Detroit area for just a small travel expense fee of $50 in addition to the adoption fee. MICHIGAN RESIDENTS—>PLEASE CLICK THE LINK BELOW TO FILL OUT THE ADOPTION APPLICATION: https://new.shelterluv.com/form/other/TAP/2450-michigan-adoption Before we can change your new furbaby’s status from "adoptable" to "adoption pending," the $50 transport fee must be paid to secure the adoption. At that time, we will stop accepting applications. The entire adoption fee must be paid prior to the transport in order to ensure your new baby has a spot on the transport. Thank you SO MUCH for giving a homeless Arkansas pup a chance at a real life with a family of their very own!
