Story
Make your new best friend into family with this gorgeous, spirited mutt. He has the best of everything - sweet nature, loves people and other dogs, faithful companion and energetic playmate. Dudley was an owner surrender after human medical issues and just needs an active family where he might have another young dog and/or kids to play with. Dudley is a tall and lean boy with beautiful Catahoula Leopard markings, a long but smooth coat, and is well behaved for grooming. He is highly food-motivated. He travels well and enjoys outings to the dog park, pet store, or walking the trails where everyone loves his goofy smile. This boy is already housebroken and knows basic commands, having lived all his life in a family. Although Dudley is crate-trained, he might become bored and destructive (toys and bedding only) if left alone and confined for long periods in a crate. Need a jogging partner? He is looking for an active home where he can walk and play several times a day. If you are looking for a strong and loyal canine companion to spend the next decade with, you can't do better than this boy!FOCCAS is a foster based, non-profit rescue in Crossville, TN. The adoption fee Includes Age-Appropriate Vaccinations (DA2PPV, Bordetella, Rabies), Deworming, Spay/Neuter, Microchip, Flea/Tick/Heartworm Prevention, and Sheltering. Adult Dogs are Heartworm Tested and Treated as Needed. FOCCAS does not DNA test or guarantee breed. Dudley's adoption fee is $275. Story
Porkpie A18663463 lb. neutered male, approx 3 years old -He started off a little timid and wanted to stay close to me, even climbing into my lap for comfort. Once he got comfortable, he started giving some sweet kisses!-Inside, it took him a little while to relax, but once he did, his goofy side came out. He slowly approaches, climbs into your lap, and then simply flops over for pets. He loves attention, although it seems like this may be a newer experience for him. He can be a little socially awkward, but he’s already figuring things out and making progress.-He wasn’t quite sure what to think about toys, but he does enjoy snacks! He’s picking up “sit” and takes treats very gently. He’s a good boy who just needs some patience, encouragement, and more life experiences to help him come out of his shell.-And he is an excellent walking partner! He moves right along at your pace without pulling.-This sweet guy may need a little time to find his confidence, but once he does, there’s a goofy, affectionate boy waiting to shine.Unknown behavior with dogs/cats/kids•Meet all of our adoptable pets on our website friendsofdacc.org/adopt •Please keep in mind that the shelter can be a very stressful environment. •Studies show that a minimum of 3 days decompression drastically lower stress hormones and allow the dog to show more personality after they have settled in. •There is a suggested donation of $100 for our dogs, payable by cash, check or through paypal at the time of the adoption. •To meet them please go to front door and a DACC staff member will assist you with adoption or fostering. **And when coming to meet one of our dogs, please bring all the humans with you, but leave any current dogs at home. Staff will go over how to slowly and properly introduce them after a decompression period.** •The shelter is open 7 days a week from 10:30-5:30 **1431 E Ferry St. Detroit

Story
Meet Olive Miss Olive is a beautiful female Catahoula Leopard Dog mix who was born around 2/6/25 She’s heartworm negative and current on her vaccines and preventatives! Some things you should know: * She is just a big sweetheart * She weighs a perfect 36 pounds * She is already spayed * She’s good with other dogs * She’s fully housetrained and crate trained * She LOVES kids!! * She’s super sweet, social, and friendly * She is desperately looking for her forever home! This amazing girl is the whole package, just waiting for you to make her a part of your home! Her dream is to become a part of a loving family. Can you help make that dream come true? Currently this sweet baby is with our rescue, The Artemis Project, in Arkansas. We DO, however, transport monthly to the metro Detroit area of MI. Because we’re able to transport, we ARE able to accept adoption applications directly from residents of MI. Why do we transport? Because animal overpopulation is severe in our region, and stray and unwanted dogs have very little chance of finding a home here. These babies are, however, at a high risk of being neglected, abused, abandoned, euthanized or even shot (it’s “the way things are done” for some people down here). YOU are truly one of the only safe and happy endings for the lucky ones we are able to rescue. Upon approval of your adoption application, we will then transport your new furbaby to you in the metro Detroit area for just a small travel expense fee of $50 in addition to the adoption fee. MICHIGAN RESIDENTS—>PLEASE CLICK THE LINK BELOW TO FILL OUT THE ADOPTION APPLICATION: https://new.shelterluv.com/form/other/TAP/2450-michigan-adoption Before we can change your new furbaby’s status from "adoptable" to "adoption pending," the $50 transport fee must be paid to secure the adoption. At that time, we will stop accepting applications. The entire adoption fee must be paid prior to the transport in order to ensure your new baby has a spot on the transport. Thank you SO MUCH for giving a homeless Arkansas pup a chance at a real life with a family of their very own!
