Adoption Donation  $    299      Located:  RI  (Transportation costs included to the Northeast , plz ask for more details ) Age: est. DOB 8/21/24   Weight: 65 lbs. Meet Chevy aka Puddles  This sweet 1-year-old pup is goofy and smart all in one beautiful package.  He does have some quirks that have kept him from winning over his own family. Chevy has stranger-danger and does not meet new people well. He does take a couple meets before he feels comfortable. He barks and guards his soul so none of those pesky human strangers can steal it.  If you can get past his quirk, I promise, this dog is one amazing friend. We all love him here in his foster home. He does currently live with kids and a baby but because of his quirky ways, I would feel better if he went to an adult only, experienced home.  He gets along great with the other dogs in my home besides the occasional toy scruffle. We don't know how he would be with cats.  He does bark and growl at strangers so a low traffic home would be best and a fenced yard is a must because it will take Chevy time to trust his new human and probably won't feel safe with a stranger walking him right away. Puddles is currently working with a trainer.  Come visit Puddles in his foster home any time just promise not to steal his soul.   *** As part of the adoption donation this pup will participate in FOA's spay/neuter program or other programs available through FOHA. All puppies will have age appropriate vaccinations.  All small Pups need to be adopted by by children old enough to understand how to be respectful and gentle in handling a small young pup. ***     If you are interested in adopting me, please fill out an application on our website   www.fohari.org and email my foster parent for more information:    reginasfosterdogs@gmail.com Please verify the location and readiness of this dog with us.  Because we save lives from various locations through out the United States, some dogs may not be in New England yet, nor ready for immediate adoption.       Our adoption application can be found here: https://fohari.org/application/  Our Adoption Process:   Go to our website and select the animal you are interested in. ALL animals are in foster homes as we do NOT have a  shelter where you can visit. Some animals are in foster care in New England, and some are located in other states. If the initials following the animals name are a state, then that is the state where the animal is located. If initials are not a state, then those are the initials of the foster home outside of New England and you will not be able to meet the animal ahead of time. Complete our online application You will be contacted by phone or email by the foster parent  or a member of our adoption team and will have the opportunity to find out more about the animal, and ask any questions that you have to ensure the animal is a good fit for your household. If the animal is local, you can meet the animal, but you would not be able to take the dog home until you are approved to adopt.  From our end, we will check references and schedule a home visit.  If you live in an apartment, or a condo, we will need to verify permission to own the animal from your landlord or condo board. Please let your vet’s office and references know we will be contacting them. If your  references are positive, we will schedule a home visit by a volunteer. Please try to accommodate the home visit volunteer as most  have busy schedules. Delays in the visit will result in a delay in the adoption. Once you are approved, you will receive an e-mail with your  adoption contract attached. This e-mail will have details about pick up, the balance of the adoption fee that is owed, etc. Please email your signed & witnessed contract and pay your adoption fee in full, and for any animals located out of state, you will be contacted for details about transport to New England. Once you have paid your adoption fee in full and sent back your contract, you can make arrangement to pick up your animal from the foster home or from transport depending on where the animal is located. Please bring a harness, collar, ID tag and leash when you are picking up the dog unless otherwise instructed by the foster parent. Our extensive approval process is intended to ensure the best fit between our animals and adopters. Friends of Homeless Animals (FOHA) reserves the right to deny any adoption application with or without disclosure of cause. Your adoption fee helps to cover the cost of all age appropriate vetting and transportation. FOHARI.ORG makes no explicit or implicit guarantees in reference to the health, temperament and/or the breed of the animal. The animal is adopted ‘as is’, and the adopter assumes all responsibility for treatment of any and all existing conditions or any other conditions of physical or temperament changes that may occur. FOHARI.ORG will provide the animal with the basic vaccines, heart worm test and sterilization of dogs and cats before adoption if the age and current health of the animal permits. While FOHARI.ORG makes every effort to place only healthy animals, FOHARI.ORG cannot guarantee the health of any animal, and shall not be held responsible for any medical expenses that may be incurred. Rescuer will provide information received from the veterinarian exam, observations on the temperament of the animal and a best guess of the breed. Friends of Homeless Animals Inc. Adam Dean is currently in RI and looking for a 'furever' home! If you are interested in adopting this dog please complete the adoption application at www.rhodehomerescue.org/adoption-form to become a pre-approved adopter. If you were already approved through Rhode Home Rescue within the last 6 months, contact us today! Be sure to check our Facebook page "Rhode Home Rescue" for details on upcoming events and other announcements. Adam is a really sweet boy!  At first he is slow to warm up but by the third day he was in his foster home he really opened up!  He loves to follow his humans around and lay next to them during the day.  He is good with people and has met kids at some of our adoption events.  He loves hanging out with the resident dogs and he'll lay and snuggle with them and enjoys playing with them too.  He hasn't been noted to resource guard.  He also isn't vocal.  He loves to be outside and run around in the yard.  He's not destructive but occasionally will start to nibble on his doggie bed.  He is easily redirected with a toy.  He is doing very well with housetraining and hasn't had any accidents yet.  He likes his crate and sleeps in it all night without crying.  He's food motivated so he should be easier to train.  Adam is great in the car and usually just takes a nap.  He isn't very high energy but does like to play with toys.  He will snuggle up with his foster humans on the couch at night before bed.  He would do best in a home that is willing to be patient with him while he gets comfortable and then looking for a chill laid back dog.January 24, 2026, 1:35 pm

Eva is a sweet girl who is slower to warm up and feel comfortable, but given the right environment she will learn to be your new best friend!  Eva previously lived her life outside so is still figuring out that inside the house is safe and with time and patience she will continue to do so.  Eva loves to play with her toys, is playful and even plays fetch!  She is working on being comfortable in her crate and is doing really well with housetraining.  She does well with calm dogs and does better with them outside.  She is working on learning to share and be comfortable sharing her space inside.  Eva also walks well on the leash.  Miss Eva would benefit from training to help her on her path to becoming her best self!January 24, 2026, 1:35 pm

Story
adoption donation : $599 weight 38lbs Age 6 months       Charlie is a sweet and friendly girl who loves everyone she meets. She was found abandoned at a truckstop in a rural part of Mississippi and luckily rescued by Wags. At the rescue, she is having a blast running and playing with all the dogs, she just loves other pups! In the house, she is mellow and chill and loves to follow her Foster Mom around.  Charlie has been spayed and vaccinated and is ready to travel to the northeast as soon as the weekend of August 9th. Charlie is housebroken at Wags but like any rescue pup will likely need some training as she adjusts to a new home. She has beautiful and appeared to be a Catahola Leopard dog, very common in Mississippi and known to be very smart and loving dogs. Charlie is just the best, she will  make a wonderful  member of the family.    Adoption donations are the only source of funding for the rescue. Adoption fee includes the transport from Mississippi, vaccines, microchip and spay and neuter. Most of our dogs are in Mississippi and come up by Transport, dogs are listed along the Transport route or in an area where we may have volunteers who can help transport the dogs. We do have some of our dogs in foster homes in the northeast, we always need foster homes! He’s just at 45 pounds and is an absolute LOVER. He loves to play with humans or other dogs. He rides well in a vehicle, he’s potty trained and doesn’t mind a kennel. He also walks good on a leash. He’s fully vetted, neutered and has been through heartworm treatment. He is a little timid at first around new people but warms up quickly.
