Story
River is a rambunctious young pup who has done well with other dogs in her foster home but can bit a reactive on leash, if you have other pets at home we recommend scheduling a meet and greet with River prior to taking her home. River is a giant love bug and will try to climb in your lap for a snuggle, she also loves to play tug and fetch. Line any young dog, River needs a family that will be dedicated to her training. ##1860013##

Story
Hi, I'm Boudreaux! Age: Approx. 3 years Gender: Neutered Male Weight: 55 lbs Breed: Catahoula Leopard Dog Mix Favorites: Treats, leaning on people Energy level: Moderate Training: Knows commands “sit” and “shake” Other important info about me: I came to the shelter with an allergic reaction to fleas, with much of the hair on my back end missing. I’ve been treated and my hair is growing back nicely, so I’m ready to find my forever home! As long as you keep me on a regular flea prevention, I won’t have any more reactions in the future. I appear to get along with people of all ages and other dogs, but I haven’t been tested with cats at this time. If you are interested in adopting me, please call 281-576-2417, email mbas@montbelvieu.net, or submit an adoption inquiry though this listing!

Story
We don't know anything about her history but she is estimated to be around 5-7 years old. She's had puppies before but is now spayed. She is a very skittish, anxious dog. Even though she is comfortable around us she still flinches sometimes when we reach down to pet her. She is 100% house-trained and very smart. If she wants something she is very good at letting you know what it is. She is not the most active dog but does enjoy short walks (although cars driving by freaks her out) and playing with her toys. She's also a pretty quiet dog and only barks if someone knocks on your door or if she gets excited while playing. Unfortunately, she is very reactive to other dogs and while she has mostly been okay with my cat while staying with us there was an incident where she bit my cat so she may be better suited for homes with no pets.

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Aren't I gorgeous? I am not a good match for active small children - they make me nervous.Kane's my name - fun's my game. I am a sweet boy, a bit shy at first. I am cautious meeting new people, but once I warm up, I am your best friend.  I am crate trained, although I have never had to spend more than 4 hours in a crate during the day. I know sit and walk great on a leash. My mom is a super hugger, and I know if I sit when she opens my crate, I get an extra big hug and love from her. I love to cuddle.  I am famous for my attack hug.  Just when you least expect it! I need the companionship of another dog to bring out my best adorable personality. I am very smart and will learn quickly. I thrive on positive reinforcement and affection.  I love to play with my foster siblings. My favorite game is chasing the water hose. I am up to date with vaccinations, neutered and microchipped so you can't loose me. I am a bit timid with strangers and will take a little time to adjust to my new home, but I promise to be the best dog ever once I know I can trust you.    Small children scare me, so I would like to have older, considerate children in the home. I am looking for a forever family. Is that you?     aarfhouston.org/forms  =========================================================  Please contact app@aarfhouston.org for more information about this dog. Once your application is approved, we will schedule a meet and greet at one of our adoption events. Thank you for considering a rescue! The adoption fee includes vaccinations, Bordetella, de-worming, rabies, spay/neuter and microchip. There is a an additional $12.99 fee for Home Again for a lifetime registration of the microchip. Puppies cannot be adopted outside of the Houston area until they are spay/neutered after they are 4 months old. It is against the law in the State of Texas for a rescue not to be sterilized so we have to make sure it gets completed and that we have record of it. NOTE: In our bios, we provide information based on our volunteer's experience with a particular dog; such as temperament, training, and ability to get along with others. AARF is a 501(c)3 Non Profit, all breed, no kill organization. Our group is always in need of donations in order to continue to give the needed medical care to our rescues. Adoption fees do not begin to cover all of the medical costs. Any donation , no matter how small is a big help and is greatly appreciated. Please help us to continue to help them. Thank you.
