Story
Meet Flora, the explorer! Flora is an 8 year old, 15-lb Cavashon who loves napping, walking and exploring her surroundings.
Flora is a sassy, curious, and strong, little sweetheart. In the last 3 weeks, Flora has blossomed into the beauty she is, growing more and more vivacious each day. Her personality is really coming to light as she receives the space and the comfort to discover her identity outside of the puppy mill cage.
Flora would thrive in a forever home with children and adults willing to be gentle and patient as she learns to trust her humans. Flora is spunky and outspoken once she gets comfortable. She could appreciate and benefit from another dog in the home, to teach her how to play! Flora has lots of energy but doesn't always know how to spend it. She often walks and sniffs in circles to become aware of her surroundings. She's a track star, for sure!
Flora has become familiar with phrases like "outside", "potty", and "fix it" to help her adjust to house-training and walking on leash. She is crate-trained and loves to watch from windows while her fosters are away from home. When on walks, Flora trots bravely and curiously. She loves to find new smells and gets very excited when new people and dogs approach.
Flora loves to bask in sun puddles, and cuddle in fluffy mounds of blankets. She is slowly learning to accept affection from her humans and leans into good scratches when the fear has faded away. Flora has an unparalleled superpower to make you fall in love. Once sheepish, she is now a marvel to observe as she sparks conversation and attracts adoration anywhere she goes.
Adopt this sweet girl so she can live a life of luxury in a happy home full of the love she deserves. Vamos!
Currently in foster care in the Cincinnati, OH area. Flora's adoption fee is $300.
To adopt this animal, please visit https://www.louieslegacy.org/adopt
All of our animals come spayed or neutered, up to date on age appropriate vaccinations, are microchipped, heartworm negative, current on flea/tick and heartworm prevention, dewormed, and treated for any ailments found upon veterinary examination. The adoption fee covers a portion of these services, and makes it possible for us to continue rescuing animals.
For more information on the adoption fees and the adoption process, please complete our adoption application here: https://www.louieslegacy.org/adopt - an application allows us to get to know your family better so we can assess whether the animal you are interested in is a good match for your home. An application does not obligate you to adopt. Please understand that due to the volume of applications some animals receive, we are unable to contact all applicants. If your application is considered a good fit for the animal you are interested in, or even a different pet, a volunteer will give you a call as soon as possible.
We are a foster based rescue and do not have a shelter location where animals can be seen during the week. Please see our Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/LouiesLegacy for our weekly adoption album if you are interested in meeting an animal in person. Not all animals attend every adoption event, please check our Facebook page for animal event times and locations before you make a trip to meet a specific animal.
