Story
Bella is a 14-year-old Miniature Poodle who was surrendered to a high-kill shelter. But this tiny senior is proving that age is just a number! Tiny but mighty, Bella is curious, brave, surprisingly agile, and still loves exploring. She walks well on leash and enjoys staying close to her people. Bella is also a total sweetheart. She loves head scratches, will ask to be picked up for a little cuddle, and gives the cutest little nudge when she wants more attention. She enjoys soft treats, doggy ice cream, cozy beds, and naps—although she insists on inspecting every bed before choosing her favorite! And yes… she’s a fashionista! Bella happily tolerates outfit changes and seems ready for her next look. Because she’s still quite adventurous, Bella will need supervision around stairs, couches, and open doors. She uses doggy stairs to get onto the couch but may forget she’s supposed to use them on the way down! This little old lady has so much personality and plenty of love left to give. After everything she’s been through, Bella deserves to spend her golden years knowing she is finally home. Could you be Bella’s forever family?

Story
Owen is a 10-year-old senior gentleman who has discovered that life is much better when it includes a soft bed, a loving human, plenty of naps, and someone to follow around. This sweet boy came to us as a stray from an LA shelter. He was understandably nervous when he first arrived and needed some extra care, but he has settled beautifully into his new life and is showing us more of his personality every day. If there’s one thing Owen has mastered, it’s the art of relaxation. He is incredibly mellow and loves nothing more than being near his person for a good nap. He takes his job as a professional napper very seriously—in fact, Owen has been known to doze off right on the veterinary exam table! His easygoing nature makes him a wonderful companion for someone looking for a calm, affectionate dog. Owen has adapted well to sharing his home with three cats. They’ve been curious about their new roommate, but Owen is largely unimpressed. As far as he’s concerned, they’re just part of the furniture! He has been a true trooper while getting the care he needed, including baths for his skin and multiple eye drops to help get his eyes healthy. He definitely believes treats and attention make every medical procedure better—and honestly, we can’t argue with him. Owen loves going for walks and meeting the neighborhood pups. He enjoys taking his time, exploring his surroundings, and smelling ALL the smells. Owen is blind in one eye and has limited vision, so his person needs to be mindful on walks and help him navigate curbs and obstacles safely. With a little guidance, he happily enjoys getting out and exploring the world at his own pace. At home, Owen is content to simply be part of whatever you’re doing. He’ll lay on his mat while you work, supervise in the kitchen, and follow you from room to room. He doesn’t need to be the center of attention—he just wants to be close to his person. We’ve also been working with Owen on house training and crate training for nighttime, and he’s making wonderful progress. Considering he’s a senior who has been accustomed to having free rein, he’s doing an especially good job learning his new routines. He’s even figuring out how to use the dog door when nature calls! One of the most rewarding things about Owen is watching him change day by day. As he becomes more comfortable and realizes he’s safe, we’re seeing more of the sweet dog underneath those initial nerves. Owen may be a senior, but he still has so much love to give. He’s gentle, mellow, curious, and happiest when he can simply be near his person. If your idea of the perfect companion involves leisurely walks, quiet afternoons, a loyal shadow, and plenty of couch naps, Owen may be the gentleman you’ve been waiting for. Owen is ready for the next chapter of his life—and this time, he deserves a forever home where he can finally relax, be loved, and enjoy his golden years.

Story
Sasa is a 3-year-old Miniature Poodle with a big personality, an even bigger heart, and a smile that never seems to fade. She was diagnosed with a neurological disorder called meningoencephalitis and is currently on a treatment plan that includes monthly injections for the next few months. With her medical care and ongoing treatment, Sasa is able to navigate the world just like any other happy, playful dog. And happy is exactly what Sasa is! Sasa is a loving, affectionate girl who forms strong bonds with her person and is incredibly loyal once she knows she’s yours. She loves being close to her favorite human—whether that means being held, snuggled up in your lap, or simply following you around. When she’s not cuddling, Sasa is ready to explore. She loves walks and adventures, and she’s happiest when she gets to experience the world alongside her person. She also enjoys a good treat, especially blueberries and apples, and she’ll never turn down a tasty snack. At home, Sasa has some very specific opinions about comfort. She loves sleeping under the covers, curling up on your pillow, and—most importantly—claiming any pillow she can find. She is, without question, a true pillow connoisseur. Sasa is also wonderfully social. She gets along well with both dogs and cats and enjoys having furry friends around. She’s smart, attentive, and eager to connect with the people around her. In fact, she even responds to some Mandarin commands! Most of all, Sasa is a dog who wants to love and be loved. She greets you with a smile, enjoys neck and chest scratches, and has a special way of making you feel like you’re the most important person in the world. Sasa may have a medical condition, but it doesn’t define her. With the right care and commitment to her treatment plan, she can continue enjoying walks, cuddles, treats, adventures, and all the little things that make life wonderful. If you’re looking for a devoted companion who will happily curl up beside you, follow you on adventures, and steal your pillow at bedtime, Sasa might just be your girl.
