Story
Bubba has already lived a lifetime most dogs should never have to know. At 7 years old, this 25-lb poodle mix was rescued after being abandoned in a house, left behind without the love and care every dog deserves. And yet, somehow, he still chooses people—every single time. Bubba is fostered in Toronto.
He is the kind of dog who quietly steals your heart. Bubba doesn’t ask for much, just to be near you. He’s a true Velcro dog, happiest when he’s by your side, following you from room to room like your soft, loyal shadow.
On walks, Bubba is calm and content, happy to stroll beside you while occasionally stopping to sniff and take in the world around him. He has an easy, gentle presence that makes him a lovely companion to have by your side.
At home, Bubba is quiet and easy to have around. Loud noises can still scare him sometimes, and you can catch glimpses of the life he left behind in those moments, but he looks to his people for comfort and reassurance. He’s still working on house training and has some accidents, but he’s making progress and continues to settle more and more into home life.
One thing Bubba has fully embraced? Mealtime. This boy now happily crunches away on his kibble and is no longer the picky eater he once seemed to be.
Bubba thrives on human companionship and would do best in a home where someone is around most of the time. Even with another dog in the house, he still feels most secure when he has his people nearby.
And when bedtime comes, Bubba’s affectionate side really shines. He loves curling up near you on the bed, gently placing his big fluffy paws on your chest while waiting for his nightly rub-down. Once he’s fully relaxed and sleepy, he’ll wander off to find his own cozy spot on the bed to settle in for the night.
During the day, he’s happiest simply being part of whatever you’re doing. If you’re cooking dinner, there’s a good chance Bubba will be stretched out on the kitchen floor nearby, quietly keeping you company.
He’s great with other dogs, gentle in spirit, and just wants a calm, loving home where he can finally exhale.
Bubba is a dog who will become the best part of your day without you even realizing it. If you’re looking for a steady, devoted companion who will fit into your life and make it softer, calmer, and a whole lot warmer, Bubba might just be your perfect match.
