Meet Yams, a 2-year-old Labrador Retriever mix weighing in at 43 pounds of pure sweetness and quiet charm. From day one, she’s been showing just how wonderful a companion she’s going to be.  She truly shines during playtime. Yams adores romping and wrestling with her canine foster sibling, chasing toys, and happily entertaining herself with a good chew. After a short burst of fun, she transforms into a world-class snuggler, happiest tucked right against her humans for a cozy nap. Yams currently lives with a cat and can relax calmly enough to sleep beside it, but she still finds the occasional chase irresistible. Because of this, she would do best with a dog-savvy cat or in a cat-free home. She has not yet met children, but her foster believes she would do well with older kids who understand her shy, sometimes timid nature and can give her time to feel safe. Her foster describes her as friendly, gentle, adaptable, playful, and quiet. Despite being young, she has a calm, easygoing maturity that makes her a peaceful presence in the home. She doesn’t demand constant activity. She just wants to be near her people, share some play, and soak up affection. If you’re looking for a loyal, loving companion who will greet you with soft eyes, happy tail wags, and endless cuddles, Yams may be the perfect addition to your family. Her adoption fee is sponsored. There is a $15 fee, if 4 months or older, for rabies registration for McLean County residents. Milo is an adorable six-month-old Labrador retriever mix puppy who weighs 36 pounds with a big personality and an even bigger heart.  This happy boy absolutely loves his people and is always excited to be part of whatever you’re doing. Whether it’s playtime, cuddle time, or just hanging out nearby, Milo is happiest when he’s with his family. Milo also loves playing with other dogs and would do great in a home with a canine companion who enjoys a good game of chase or wrestling in the yard. He’s a fun, energetic pup who brings joy and laughter wherever he goes. He has almost mastered house training and does very well when kept on a consistent schedule, remaining accident-free when given regular potty breaks. With a little continued guidance and routine, he’s well on his way to being fully trained. Milo can be quite vocal when he’s excited or wants to share his opinions, so he would do best in a home without shared walls, such as a single-family home where he can express himself without worrying about nearby neighbors. My adoption fee was generously sponsored! Bailey is like sunshine; she lights up every room she walks in to. She is a sweet, mellow, and social girl. And don’t let the grey hair fool you, she is still young and spritely, she’s just a lady who is aging gracefully. She likes to say hi to everyone in the room, but she is very respectful and never jumps or barks. Bailey is also crate trained and enjoys having her own space; She will often go in her crate all on her own when wanting to take a nap. She enjoys going for her daily walks around the neighborhood and she is phenomenal on leash! Never pulls or barks at other people or animals; though she does give squirrels a mean glare, so they know who’s boss. She likes to spend the rest of the day chewing on her bone, napping, eating treats, and she especially loves cuddling with you; she loves to rest her head on your chest while she naps. She needs to be the only dog in the home, but she has meet cats and seems to do well with them. Bailey is the perfect dog for anybody looking for a well behaved new best friend. All Pet Central animals are up to date on age-appropriate vaccinations, spayed or neutered, microchipped (registration included), and current on parasite prevention. Dogs over six-months of age are heartworm tested. When adopting, we will ensure that you receive copies of veterinary and microchip records. Records are sent via email. Paper versions are available upon request. If you are interested in this pet, please fill out the brief Adopter Survey by hitting "Apply for Adoption" on the profile above. After we review your completed survey, we will contact you by phone or email within three business days. Please note- Out of respect for our volunteers and staff, we are closed on Sunday and Monday and will not be processing any applications on those days. Please get back to us right away when we call or email regarding an application so that we can quickly connect using the process below: Select a pet and submit an online adoption survey. A PCH! adoption counselor will contact potential adopters within three business days (PCH! cannot guarantee any pet's availability, but we make every effort to accommodate adopters with a reply and possible alternative suggestions). An adoption counselor and client will then have a conversation to answer questions, discuss any medical needs for the pet and determine the suitability of a match (if necessary, we may opt to put adopters in touch with foster parents). After a match is made, clients will be asked to sign our adoption agreement and pay the adoption fee online through our secure payment system *Please see our modified no-risk return policy. (below) The PCH! adoption counselor will then set up a specific appointment time and location. Adopters should bring a pet carrier and/or a leash to pick up and their ID. Adult pets will be wearing a collar. It is important that clients arrive on time, neither early nor late. Cats and kittens are required to leave in a pet carrier. If your adoption is scheduled at Pet Central Helps!: Upon arrival inside the Crossroads Center complex (360 Wylie Drive), look for the black Pet Central Helps! semi-trailer, which is right outside of our facility (Suite 720). Park in the parking lot and enter the facility. A PCH! representative will greet you and show you to the adoption room. Your new pet will be handed to you. We will take a "Happy Adoption Day” photo with your pet and family. If your adoption is scheduled at PetSmart – Bloomington, IL: Park in the PetSmart (1606 E. Empire St.) Parking lot and enter the store. We will be set up just inside the store entrance. Let us know you are here to pick up your pet! A PCH! representative will confirm your information and hand you your pet. We will take a "Happy Adoption Day” photo with your pet and family. If your adoption is scheduled at the Cat’s Meow Cafe: Navigate to PetSmart, park in the parking lot and enter the store. Locate a PCH! Representative at our adoption table and let them know you are picking up a Cat Cafe Cat. You will sign your final contract with your counselor and snap a picture of the completed screen. Head to the Cat’s Meow Cafe at 507 N. Hershey Rd and provide them with the snapshot of your final contract. They will get your cat and take a “Happy Adoption Day” photo with your pet and family. PCH! supports a 30-day no-fault return policy in which adopters are given the opportunity to find a better match. If we cannot provide advice/tools to keep a pet in the home we offer these options: Exchange for a pet that may be a better match** Receive a refund minus a $40 processing fee** With this approach, we can often turn mismatches into opportunities!
