💛 Meet Tory — A Loving Lab Looking for Her Safe Place 💛
Tory is a 4-year-old Labrador Retriever with a heart full of love and a deep desire to be close to her people. At about 77 pounds, she’s a classic Lab—affectionate, loyal, and happiest when she’s by your side.
Tory is incredibly people-focused and thrives on companionship. In her foster home, she is calm, affectionate, and comfortable with her family, including both adult men and children. Once she feels safe, she bonds deeply and shows just how sweet and gentle she truly is.
🐾 On Walks & Daily Life
Tory does well on leash and responds nicely when the leash is taut—she’ll stop and match your pace. While she may pull occasionally, she’s easily redirected by hearing her name and settles quickly. She enjoys being out and about, especially when she knows her person is guiding her.
💙 A Note About New Men
Tory can feel unsure when first meeting unfamiliar men. This uncertainty may show up as loud barking and backing away, which is rooted in fear and anxiety—not aggression. With calm guidance, patience, and reassurance, she settles and builds trust. Once she knows someone, she becomes affectionate and relaxed, just as she is with the men in her foster home.
Because of this, Tory would do best with adopters who understand sensitive dogs and are willing to let her warm up at her own pace.
