Story
Meet Lola 🖤🐾 Lola is a one-year-old Lab mix with a big personality, a bigger heart, and energy for days. At around 55–60 pounds, she’s still very much a playful puppy who is learning the ropes—and she’s looking for an active home ready to help her grow into her best self. Lola is incredibly affectionate and people-loving. She thrives on attention and connection, and at the end of the day, her favorite place is curled up next to her person enjoying some well-earned snuggles. She’s also very smart and highly treat-motivated, making her a great candidate for continued training. She loves learning and is eager to please. She already has a great foundation: * 🐾 Crate trained * 🐾 Potty trained * 🐾 Walks well on a leash (though she may get excited and pull at first!) Lola is currently looking for a home where she can be the only pet. She isn’t aggressive—she simply has a very energetic, enthusiastic play style that isn’t always well received by other dogs. She’s working hard on learning appropriate boundaries, and we’re hopeful that with continued training and slow, patient introductions, she may one day be able to enjoy canine companionship. For now, we’re still learning what works best for her. Like many young, active dogs, Lola can get into mischief if she’s bored. Structure, enrichment, and plenty of appropriate outlets help her thrive. She absolutely loves water, playing fetch, toys, brain games, and anything that keeps her mind and body busy. An active family who enjoys getting out and having fun will be right up her alley. One important note: Lola is a fence jumper and can clear a 6-foot fence, so she’ll need supervised outdoor time or another secure setup to keep her safe. Lola may still have a few puppy quirks, but underneath all that enthusiasm is a loving, loyal dog who just wants to be close to her people. With patience, consistency, and love, she’s going to make an incredible companion. If you’re looking for a fun, affectionate dog who will keep you active, make you laugh, and happily snuggle up with you at the end of the day, Lola is ready to meet you. 💙 ----------------------------------------- If you’re interested in adopting, please apply online at mscrescue.org/adopt. Story
Meet Banana Nut 🖤💙 Banana Nut is a stunning 6-month-old black Lab mix with the sweetest soul, one unforgettable blue eye splashed with brown, and the cutest little underbite that makes him impossible not to fall in love with. This handsome boy is the perfect mix of snuggly sweetheart and goofy puppy energy. He absolutely adores his people and wants nothing more than to be close to them — whether that’s curled up in your lap, sleeping beside you in the sun, or ideally… tucked into bed with you at night (his personal favorite arrangement 😅). Banana Nut is incredibly affectionate and eager to please. He’s already learned “sit,” takes direction well for a puppy, and is making wonderful progress with potty training. He sleeps quietly through the night in his crate and keeps it clean, though he’d definitely vote for unlimited cuddle privileges over crate time whenever possible. This boy LOVES being outside. A fenced yard where he can zoom around, sunbathe, and enjoy the grass would make him so happy. Most of the time he’s fairly mellow for a puppy, but every now and then he gets the funniest bursts of chaotic puppy energy that leave everyone laughing. Banana Nut can be timid at first and is still learning the world is a safe place. New people — especially children — can make him nervous initially, and he may bark when unsure. Once he warms up though, his loving personality shines through quickly. He’s also cautious around new dogs at first and would benefit from slow introductions and patient guidance. After taking time to settle in with his foster’s senior dogs, he became playful, affectionate, and loved snuggling up with them to sleep. Because he can be vocal and is still building confidence, Banana Nut would likely do best in a home rather than an apartment setting. If you’re looking for a puppy with movie-star looks, endless snuggles, and a heart ready to blossom with a patient family, Banana Nut may just be your perfect match. 💙 If you’re interested in adopting, please apply online at mscrescue.org/adopt. Story
Meet Thia 🐾 | Smart, Loyal & Looking for Someone to Believe in Her Thia is a young, 1-year-old Lab/Retriever mix with a huge heart, an even bigger personality, and so much potential. Shelter life has been hard on her, and after spending many months in a kennel, she's feeling the effects of chronic stress. Even so, she remains incredibly affectionate, eager to learn, and deeply devoted to her people. 💛 Loving, Smart & People-Focused Thia absolutely adores people. She loves affection, enjoys spending time with her favorite humans, and is happiest when she's included in whatever you're doing. She's incredibly intelligent, highly food motivated, and loves learning new things. She already knows several basic commands and thrives when given structure, consistency, and positive reinforcement. She enjoys playing with stuffies and carrying them around like little treasures, and she especially loves water! 🎓 Working Hard Thia has been working with Taryn from Teacher Turned Trainer and has made great progress. She's looking for an adopter who understands that training doesn't stop after adoption and is excited to continue building on everything she's learned. 🐕 Reactivity & Training Thia is reactive to other dogs and passing vehicles on walks. She can bark and lunge when she sees them, so she'll need someone who understands leash reactivity and is committed to continuing her training. Reactivity does not mean aggression, it simply means her environment is overstimulating. She's a strong girl, and her adopter should be comfortable handling an athletic dog while helping her navigate the world with confidence. 🏡 Home Life Shelter stress has also impacted Thia's potty training. She is not currently potty trained, but we're optimistic that with a consistent routine, patience, and the lower stress of a home environment, she'll make great progress. Her ideal home would include: * 🐾 An adopter committed to continuing her training * 🏡 A home with space to exercise and explore * 🚶 Someone comfortable handling a strong, active dog * ❤️ A family willing to give her the time and routine she's been missing * 👧 Older, dog-savvy children may be a good fit * 🐶 No other pets- Thia would thrive as your one-and-only Despite everything she's been through, Thia still greets people with love and hope. She's funny, affectionate, eager to please, and ready for someone to see beyond the shelter environment. With patience, consistency, and continued training, we know Thia has everything she needs to become an incredible companion. If you're looking for a loyal best friend and are ready to help a deserving dog continue her journey, Thia is ready to meet you. 💛 ----------------------------------------- If you’re interested in adopting, please apply online at mscrescue.org/adopt. Story
Meet Diamond – A Shining Soul with a Heart of Gold Diamond is a stunning 4-year-old black Pit Bull/Lab mix whose story is as powerful as her name. When she was rescued, Diamond had endured severe neglect and abuse — she was skin and bones, missing patches of fur, and had lost faith in people. But with love, patience, and care, this beautiful girl has blossomed into a happy, playful companion with a dazzling smile and sleek black coat. Diamond is crate trained and has never had an accident indoors. She sleeps soundly through the night in a crate, but she’d much prefer to curl up in bed next to her person. Once she feels safe, her playful and goofy personality shines through — she loves walks, plays with toys, and has the most endearing zoomies. She’s also learning to enjoy human affection, and her foster mom has worked hard to help her learn that human touch can be kind. Diamond would do best as the only pet in an adult-only home. She is not cat-friendly and can be unpredictable with other dogs. Her ideal adopter will respect her need for slow introductions and structure. Because of her past, food is a valuable resource for Diamond and should be managed with care. Like many young dogs, she can still be a bit mouthy when excited, but she listens beautifully when told to calm down or redirects to a toy. Once Diamond trusts you, you’ll see just how special she is — her loyalty runs deep, and her goofy grin will melt your heart every day. She is proof that love and patience can heal old wounds, and she’s ready to find the person who will let her sparkle forever. Could you be the one to give Diamond her forever home and show her what unconditional love truly feels like? Diamond is eligible for our Foster-to-Adopt program, which means you can take some time to get to know her in your home before finalizing the adoption. It’s a great way to ensure the perfect fit! ----------------------------------------- If you’re interested in adopting, please apply online at mscrescue.org/adopt. Come join the SUNSHINE Gang with Reba Rose Sunshine!!! ☀️ This girl is a 1.5 year old Lab/Boxer mix, with a fun-loving personality! She weighs 48 pounds and is full of happy energy, but without being overwhelming. Reba, Reba Rose, Ms. Sunshine…it doesn’t matter what nick name you come up with for her. She’s going to happily greet you, your kids, your dogs, your neighbors, your neighbors’ kids, and your neighbors’ dogs as if they’re all just part of her SUNSHINE gang!☀️ She loves to play with other dogs and her toys. She’s pretty much always up for some type of game, play time, or even just hanging out at home. Her most charming trait is that she plays like a baby deer. Don’t believe us? Just wait and see! Reba Rose Sunshine is both potty trained and crate trained; and happily sleeps in her crate at night without issue. She’s learning basic commands like “sit” and “kennel” and walks pretty well on a leash, although she’s still working on mastering her strutting skills completely. Although she’s mostly out of her puppy phase, Reba Rose Sunshine would love a home where she gets consistency and structure, that way she’s able to continue building her good habits! She would also thrive in an environment where her family is active and engaged with her since she loves the people in her SUNSHINE gang! ☀️ Reba Rose Sunshine is spayed, vaccinated, microchipped, and up to date on heartworm/flea/tick preventatives. Her adoption fee is $175. Meet-and-greets will be scheduled with approved adopters from PawsitiveTailsKC.org.

Story
Rescue dogs who aren’t little puppies 👶 often get overlooked. And black dogs ⚫️ tend to be scrolled past, ⬇️ 🖱️ no matter what. So, here we have Callaway, a 1-year-old black Labrador Retriever mix. The overlookers and scroll-passeders already aren’t reading anymore, 🤷 🤦‍♀️ but that means you get to learn all about the girl that they’re missing out on! She weighs about 45 pounds, so she’s probably a bit smaller than she looks in a lot of her pics. Her personality is a lot like many people we know: she’s looking for fun times and stuff to do, 📅 🏃‍♂️‍➡️🛍️ and then once she celebrates the good times or whatever 🎊, she wants some downtime to recharge for next time. Know what we mean? 🛋️🛌 Callaway is friendly with people and good with kids. Any household would be lucky to have someone who loves every single person the same. Because she’s a 1-year-old girl instead of a puppy, we fully know her personality. She is very smart and picks up on things quickly, so she’ll get your routines down and start anticipating what comes next. She already has basic training for things like sit, come, kennel and inside, plus leash walking (that training is another advantage to being young enough but not a tiny baby). She enjoys a daily walk and some play time in the yard, and she likes her toys. When she’s done with activities, she wants to lounge with her people. As often as not, she falls asleep laying on them. She also LOVES her stuffie toys and treats them like they are her babies, instead of tearing them up. Callaway gets along with other dogs, after a slow introduction. We don’t know how she is with cats, because she hasn’t met one yet. She is house-trained and crate-trained and, just so you know, she can jump a fence that’s shorter than 6 feet. Bringing home a girl like Callaway will fill your heart 💓 just as much as a young puppy 💝🐾 She’s young enough to bond with and become your lifetime family member, but she already has blossomed into her Callaway self and learned a lot. She is spayed, vaccinated, microchipped and current on heartworm/flea/tick preventatives. Her adoption fee is $175. Meet this girl and greet this girl, and you’ll enjoy every minute of her once you’re approved to adopt. 🐕Apply to adopt at PawsitiveTailsKC.org🐕

Story
Chase has learned to live with our cat & I've seen him play well with small dogs.He has medium/big dog fear aggression. I asked previous owner if he had been attacked or bitten by another dog or wild animal, they said no. He's been a part of our family for 4 yrs & isn't as reactive w/other dogs as he used to be. That's to say, if he is a good distance he doesn't growl, show teeth, or lunge as much.Chase needs an experienced adopter, plenty of room to roam in his own pvt yard without medium/big dogs nearby. I have talked with a couple of trainers & they think it's likely he can be trained out of his fear aggression. This would be from a knowledgeable owner or trained professional. He loves people & attention. I would caution that he isn't in a home w/small children just because he hasn't lived w/young children in our home or w/original owner. He really is very sweet like Golden Retrievers are known for, he just has some special needs.Any of his supplies you want are part of adoption fee!
