Story
This gorgeous girl is June Bug, our friend from The Rescue Project. She's a lab mix and about three years old. But more importantly, she's a happy girl is so much fun! June Bug isn't just pretty. She has the smarts, too! She's very willing to work for people she likes (and food, she's willing to work for food). June Bug particularly enjoys showing people that she knows shake with both paws, as she's perfected that skill, and knows she'll get ... food! She likes learning new things, so go ahead and teach her all the fun stuff to help keep her mind busy. June Bug can be cautious around new people and things, but give her a chance and show her you're one of the kind, good humans. She'll love you to the moon and back and show you her snuggly, goofy side. She is worth your time, we promise. June Bug is looking for an adult-only home with a fenced yard, as kids can be loud and scary and apartments aren't going to work for her. She needs to be the only pet in her new home. Call or text The Pet Connection at 913-671-7387 for more information. June Bug is staying in the KC metro, but transport is available to the right home. #thepetconnection #JuneBug #LabMix #DogTraining #DogLovers #RescueDog #AdoptDontShop #KCmetro #DogRescue

Story
Rocky is a gentle soul who starts his morning with some stretches, downward dog yoga poses, and meditation (aka naps in the sun). He's a big chap at about 80 pounds, but don't worry, at just about five years old, Rocky won't be growing more! We recently learned that Rocky loooooooves to swim! Like, really loves it and could possibly be a water sports dog, too. He dives for the ball and really commits by putting his head and body under the water! This pooch has heart *and* skills, we're happy to report. He's also super cute -- bonus! You couldn't ask for a better pooch than this guy. He's intelligent, affectionate, loving, house-trained, and doesn’t chew on anything (except for toys and Benebone wishbones). Do you have a dog in need of a canine companion? Fantastic! Rocky adores the dogs in his foster home. He carefully picks out toys to share with them, and then they enjoy a good game of chase in the yard. He would also do great as the only pooch in his home if he gets plenty of attention from the humans. Rocky is not so much a cat guy, though. Rocky already knows sit, stay, come, touch, and shake. He loves earning treats by doing these tricks and could be easily trained to learn even more. Rocky takes treats so, so gently from your hand, too. (He's such a good boy!) Some of Rocky's favorite things are getting pets, riding in the car, being outdoors, playing with toys, and going on walks. While Rocky loves cuddling in bed with his humans, he patiently waits to be invited up, because he's polite like that. What Rocky would love to do most of all, though, is find his forever home. Please call or text The Pet Connection at 913-671-7387 if you're The One. If not, please share Rocky's information with everyone you know so you can visit Rocky at their house when he gets adopted. #thepetconnection

Story
Meet Cash, a brave and affectionate senior boy who's looking for his forever snuggle buddies! Cash is about 10 years old. He spent eight of those years in a shelter, outside in a kennel shared with other dog friends, always being the one left behind when his roomies went off to their forever homes. We don't know why this sweet guy wasn't picked then, but it's his turn now. Cash is extremely loving and the best cuddler EVER! He's got the cutest little face, just looking to you for guidance and attention. He is a smart boy who already knows tricks like sit, down, shake, and high five. Cash is also housetrained and kennel trained and has excellent house manners. Cash is good with other dogs and would be a great addition to an adult-only home, where he can be the center of attention and get all the cuddles he deserves. With his goofy and loving personality, Cash is going to be the light of someone's life; we just know it. Will you give him a chance, please? Call or text The Pet Connection at 913-671-7387 for more information about this wonderful boy. Cash is in the Kansas City metro, but transport can be arranged for the right home.

Rudy, our friend at City of Raytown Animal Services, is a calm middle-aged man, looking for small adventures and long naps in the sun. Inside naps, outside naps, as long as his people are close to him, he's happy as can be. He's the perfect gentleman! Seems to be housebroken; knows sit; stands on his back legs for treats; walks like a champ on a leash; great with other dogs, cats, and kids. Heck, Rudy's even a fantastic player--he plays fetch and gladly drops the ball for another round! Age and size? He's around 5 years old and 45 pounds. Call or text The Pet Connection at 913-671-7387 for more info. Story
Meet Beau – Handsome, Smart, and So Ready for His Forever Home Beau is the kind of dog who makes you stop and stare. His sleek silver coat and bright eyes are show-stopping, but it’s his heart that truly shines. This three-year-old Lab/Pit mix has been through more than his fair share—three homes already, none of it his fault. First two? Chaotic situations. His current people love him but are moving in with relatives and can’t keep him. Through it all, Beau has remained loyal, gentle, and eager to love. Beau is housetrained, kennel-trained, and a gentleman in the house. He sleeps in his kennel with the door open, free-roams while his people are at work, and never gets into things he shouldn’t. He’ll even sleep in with you on a lazy morning. He alerts you when someone’s outside, but otherwise isn’t a barker. On leash, he does beautifully. This boy LOVES his people—cuddles, kisses, naps at your feet, and hanging close by are his favorite things. He’s also a goofball: pouncing on toys, playing tug (though he’ll give you a side-eye when he loses!), and clowning around to make you laugh. He’s food-motivated and quick to learn—he already knows “sit,” “down,” and “stay.” Beau has lived happily with another dog before, but since we don’t know for sure about every match, a meet-and-greet would be best. He does get nervous with small kids, so a home without young children will be the most comfortable for him. After all the upheaval he’s endured, what Beau wants most is something simple: people to love and a home that lasts forever. Could that be you? To foster or adopt Beau, please call or text The Pet Connection at 913-671-7387. He's in the Kansas City metro but transport is available to the right home. #thepetconnection #AdoptDontShop #RescueDog #DogLover #KansasCityDogs #FosterDog #DogTraining #ChillPooch #GoodBoy #DogRescue

Story
Molly is an 8-year-old female spayed black lab. She came out of a cruelty situation and, due to that, needs a very slow introduction to other dogs. She prefers her dog friends to be calm and older, like herself. She still has a lot of spunk, loves to play fetch, loves attention, walks well on a leash, and really needs a loving home to live a new and better life. Her adoption fee is sponsored. Call or text The Pet Connection at 913-671-7387 for more information, or stop by City of Raytown Animal Service's new building at 10312 E. 63rd St. in Raytown, MO, to meet Molly Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. If you live out of town, transport might be available.

Story
Forest is safe with us now and has been such a wonderful dog. He’s well-behaved, potty trained, walks great on a leash, and has gotten along beautifully with our two cats and our other two dogs. We would love to find him a loving forever home. Unfortunately, our male Chihuahua doesn’t adjust well to other male dogs, so we’re unable to keep him. If you or someone you know is looking for a sweet companion, please send me a message. We’d love to make sure Forest goes to a safe, caring home. Please share to help us find the perfect family for him. ❤️🐾

Story
🐱 Cat-friendly 🐱 Long live all the ✨ magic ✨ this puppy is about to bring into your life! As the final puppy of the Taylor's Version Litter, Long Live is ready for his happily ever after... and we can't really believe he's still available. When we asked his foster family to describe his personality, they said: "He's all sunshine and rainbows." 🌞🌈 At 3 months old and 16 pounds, Long Live is a Black Labrador Retriever mix who is expected to grow into a 31-55 pound adult. He has the sweetest, dopiest personality, loves everyone he meets 🫶, and is gentle without being timid. Maybe it's those adorable short little legs, but somehow he manages to look completely innocent even when you're telling him he's been naughty. 😂 After a few minutes of playtime, he'll dramatically plop down like he just headlined The Eras Tour. His favorite things include squeaky toys, crinkly toys... and food. 🥓 As a hungry, growing puppy, Long Live firmly believes breakfast, snacks, and dinner deserve equal enthusiasm (who could disagree?). He's working on house training and has already started sitting by the door 🚪 when he needs to go outside. Smart boy! 👏 He knows "sit," is getting closer with "no," and sleeps soundly in his kennel each night. Because he loves being around people, he'd do best with a family that's home more often than not and willing to keep building his confidence when he's kenneled alone. Despite being a puppy, Long Live has low-to-medium energy. A fenced yard or daily walks and playtime will keep him happy. He gets along great with other dogs, is cat-friendly (playfully chases them with no desire to harm them), has done well around chickens, and would likely do great with kids of all ages thanks to his gentle, loving nature. We have a feeling Long Live is the kind of dog you'll be telling stories about for years to come. 📖✨ His adoption fee is $275 and includes his neuter, microchip, age-appropriate vaccines, and heartworm/flea/tick preventatives. Meet-and-greets will be scheduled with approved adopters. 🐕 Apply to adopt at PawsitiveTailsKC.org 🐕

Story
🐈🐱 Cat-friendly 🐱🐈 Romeo 100% earned his name – he is an absolute lover boy! 💘 🏹 He wants nothing more than to be with his people 💖. And he sure makes for great company 💗. Perhaps you didn’t realize that you were a tad lonely when you went to switch the laundry to the dryer. Or when you went to grab the package off the porch. Or when you were doing the dishes. Romeo will gladly accompany you for all of those jobs and more. 👼 💌 He’ll make all the routine things 🧹🧽 happier and cuter, with his paws clicking along on the floor next to you and his tail wagging while you work. At 4 months old, he already sits nicely on command; he’s good on the leash, and he’s house-trained and crate-trained. Oh Romeo, we’re all falling for you 💝. He likes to play ball and is into stuffie toys. He absolutely loves other dogs too and gets along with the cat. Seriously, everyone is his friend! 🥹 He is a handsome tri-color dude who we think is a Labrador Retriever mix. He’ll probably be somewhere in the neighborhood of 60-70 lbs., full of love. He sleeps all night in his crate, though he’d be just as happy to snuggle in bed with his person(s). 🛌 If you don’t melt a little looking at his sweet face, you sure will after a Romeo cuddle session. Romeo is neutered, up-to-date on age-appropriate vaccines and microchipped. He’ll come to you current on heartworm/flea/tick preventatives, and his adoption fee is $275. Open your arms for a hug when you get to meet him – he’ll love it! Your meet & greet will be scheduled with his foster once you’re approved to adopt. 🐕 Apply to adopt at PawsitiveTailsKC.org 🐕

Story
Chase has learned to live with our cat & I've seen him play well with small dogs.He has medium/big dog fear aggression. I asked previous owner if he had been attacked or bitten by another dog or wild animal, they said no. He's been a part of our family for 4 yrs & isn't as reactive w/other dogs as he used to be. That's to say, if he is a good distance he doesn't growl, show teeth, or lunge as much.Chase needs an experienced adopter, plenty of room to roam in his own pvt yard without medium/big dogs nearby. I have talked with a couple of trainers & they think it's likely he can be trained out of his fear aggression. This would be from a knowledgeable owner or trained professional. He loves people & attention. I would caution that he isn't in a home w/small children just because he hasn't lived w/young children in our home or w/original owner. He really is very sweet like Golden Retrievers are known for, he just has some special needs.Any of his supplies you want are part of adoption fee!
