Meet Lola 🖤🐾 Lola is a one-year-old Lab/Heeler mix with a big personality, a bigger heart, and energy for days. At around 55–60 lbs, she’s still very much a playful puppy who is learning the ropes—and she’s looking for an active home ready to help her grow into her best self. Lola is incredibly affectionate and people-loving. She thrives on attention and connection, and at the end of the day, her favorite place is curled up next to her person enjoying some well-earned snuggles. She’s also very smart and highly treat-motivated, which makes her a great candidate for continued training—she wants to learn and is eager to please. She already has a solid foundation: • Crate trained and keeps her kennel clean • Potty trained • Walks well on a leash (though she may get excited and pull at first—especially if something catches her eye!) Lola does best with medium to large dogs who can match her playful, high-energy style. She loves to play but can get a bit mouthy and overly enthusiastic, so she’ll need continued guidance to help her learn appropriate boundaries. Because of this, she’s not a great fit for small dogs or small animals, as she may unintentionally overwhelm them. Like many young, high-energy dogs, Lola has had some destructive tendencies when left alone, but this improves with structure, enrichment, and appropriate outlets like chew toys and exercise. She’s still learning—and with consistency, she’ll continue to make great progress. This girl loves water, toys, and playtime, and she’ll thrive in a home that can give her plenty of physical activity and mental stimulation. A bored Lola is a mischievous Lola—so keeping her engaged is key! One important note: Lola is a fence jumper (she can clear a 6-ft fence), so she’ll need supervised outdoor time or a secure setup to keep her safe while she continues learning. Lola may be a little rough around the edges, but it’s all typical puppy behavior—and underneath it all is a loving, loyal dog who just wants to be close to her people. With patience, structure, and love, she’s going to make an incredible companion. If you’re looking for a fun, active dog who will keep you moving and reward you with affection and personality, Lola is ready to meet you. 💙 ----------------------------------------- If you’re interested in adopting, please apply online at mscrescue.org/adopt. Meet Banana Nut 🖤💙 Banana Nut is a stunning 6-month-old black Lab mix with the sweetest soul, one unforgettable blue eye splashed with brown, and the cutest little underbite that makes him impossible not to fall in love with. This handsome boy is the perfect mix of snuggly sweetheart and goofy puppy energy. He absolutely adores his people and wants nothing more than to be close to them — whether that’s curled up in your lap, sleeping beside you in the sun, or ideally… tucked into bed with you at night (his personal favorite arrangement 😅). Banana Nut is incredibly affectionate and eager to please. He’s already learned “sit,” takes direction well for a puppy, and is making wonderful progress with potty training. He sleeps quietly through the night in his crate and keeps it clean, though he’d definitely vote for unlimited cuddle privileges over crate time whenever possible. This boy LOVES being outside. A fenced yard where he can zoom around, sunbathe, and enjoy the grass would make him so happy. Most of the time he’s fairly mellow for a puppy, but every now and then he gets the funniest bursts of chaotic puppy energy that leave everyone laughing. Banana Nut can be timid at first and is still learning the world is a safe place. New people — especially children — can make him nervous initially, and he may bark when unsure. Once he warms up though, his loving personality shines through quickly. He’s also cautious around new dogs at first and would benefit from slow introductions and patient guidance. After taking time to settle in with his foster’s senior dogs, he became playful, affectionate, and loved snuggling up with them to sleep. Because he can be vocal and is still building confidence, Banana Nut would likely do best in a home rather than an apartment setting. If you’re looking for a puppy with movie-star looks, endless snuggles, and a heart ready to blossom with a patient family, Banana Nut may just be your perfect match. 💙 If you’re interested in adopting, please apply online at mscrescue.org/adopt. Meet Thia 🐾 | The Sweet, Smart, Curious Girl Ready for Her Forever Home Thia is a young Lab/Retriever mix with a huge heart and a wonderfully silly, affectionate personality. She recently spent some furloughs in some foster homes so we can learn more about her. Everyone has agreed that she is a wonderful, loving girl who just needs the right match to truly thrive. 💛Sweet, Curious & People-Oriented 💛 Thia loves being with her humans. She happily follows you around, settles for pets, and will carry her stuffed toys from room to room like little treasures. Indoors, once she’s had a few minutes to adjust, she is calm, affectionate, and surprisingly quiet — even with dogs walking by outside. She has slept through the night, kept her crate clean, and loved playing with toys and exploring new spaces. 💛 Great With Kids 💛 She was gentle with a foster’s 4-year-old and didn’t jump on him. She does get excited with fast movement (very normal for a young dog!) and was a little overwhelming for a curious 1.5-year-old who was right at her face level — but overall she handled the bustle of young kids very well. She may do best with kiddos that are just a bit older who understand dog behavior and can handle puppy energy. 🐕‍🦺 Behavior With Other Dogs 🐕‍🦺 Thia wants to interact with other dogs so badly that she becomes overstimulated. Her initial barking/lunging isn’t aggression — it’s dysregulated excitement. Once she makes contact, she goes from 0 to 100 and doesn’t yet know how to play appropriately. Because of this we believe Thia will thrive as an only dog. Thia is highly responsive and attentive when no other dogs are around. 💪 Strength, Training & Home Requirements Thia is strong and would do best with someone familiar with energetic, muscular breeds or dogs who get overstimulated. She is incredibly smart, treat-motivated, and already knows a few commands. She improves quickly with routine and positive reinforcement. Her ideal home would have: • 🐕 Needs to be the only dog in the home — she prefers having her people all to herself • 👧 Great with kids who understand dog behavior and can handle puppy energy • 🏡 Would thrive most in a home with space to run and build confidence • Thia does not have experience with cats, so we do not know how she would do with felines. However, given both her strength and enthusiasm, we believe a home free of felines may be best for this girl! 🧸 Toys, Crates & Daily Life Thia loves squeaky toys, fetch (she’ll bring the ball right back!), and chewing on safe toys. She allows toys to be taken from her mouth without complaint. She has some hesitation with the crate, but both fosters believe she will adjust well with high-value treats, Kongs, and continued positive training. While one foster worked from home, Thia entertained herself beautifully — playing with toys, watching the world out the window, and checking in for affection. She was a sweet, surprisingly easy WFH companion. Thia is incredibly smart, treat-motivated, and eager to learn. She already knows sit and down, is crate trained, and thrives with positive reinforcement. Thia is ready to leave shelter life behind and step into a home of her own — one filled with safety, routine, and people who adore her playful, gentle heart. If you’re looking for a loyal, loving companion who brings joy and sweetness everywhere she goes, Thia just might be your girl. 💛 ----------------------------------------- If you’re interested in adopting, please apply online at mscrescue.org/adopt. Story
Meet Diamond – A Shining Soul with a Heart of Gold Diamond is a stunning 4-year-old black Pit Bull/Lab mix whose story is as powerful as her name. When she was rescued, Diamond had endured severe neglect and abuse — she was skin and bones, missing patches of fur, and had lost faith in people. But with love, patience, and care, this beautiful girl has blossomed into a happy, playful companion with a dazzling smile and sleek black coat. Diamond is crate trained and has never had an accident indoors. She sleeps soundly through the night in a crate, but she’d much prefer to curl up in bed next to her person. Once she feels safe, her playful and goofy personality shines through — she loves walks, plays with toys, and has the most endearing zoomies. She’s also learning to enjoy human affection, and her foster mom has worked hard to help her learn that human touch can be kind. Diamond would do best as the only pet in an adult-only home. She is not cat-friendly and can be unpredictable with other dogs. Her ideal adopter will respect her need for slow introductions and structure. Because of her past, food is a valuable resource for Diamond and should be managed with care. Like many young dogs, she can still be a bit mouthy when excited, but she listens beautifully when told to calm down or redirects to a toy. Once Diamond trusts you, you’ll see just how special she is — her loyalty runs deep, and her goofy grin will melt your heart every day. She is proof that love and patience can heal old wounds, and she’s ready to find the person who will let her sparkle forever. Could you be the one to give Diamond her forever home and show her what unconditional love truly feels like? Diamond is eligible for our Foster-to-Adopt program, which means you can take some time to get to know her in your home before finalizing the adoption. It’s a great way to ensure the perfect fit! ----------------------------------------- If you’re interested in adopting, please apply online at mscrescue.org/adopt. Come join the SUNSHINE Gang with Reba Rose Sunshine!!! ☀️ This girl is a 1.5 year old Lab/Boxer mix, with a fun-loving personality! She weighs 48 pounds and is full of happy energy, but without being overwhelming. Reba, Reba Rose, Ms. Sunshine…it doesn’t matter what nick name you come up with for her. She’s going to happily greet you, your kids, your dogs, your neighbors, your neighbors’ kids, and your neighbors’ dogs as if they’re all just part of her SUNSHINE gang!☀️ She loves to play with other dogs and her toys. She’s pretty much always up for some type of game, play time, or even just hanging out at home. Her most charming trait is that she plays like a baby deer. Don’t believe us? Just wait and see! Reba Rose Sunshine is both potty trained and crate trained; and happily sleeps in her crate at night without issue. She’s learning basic commands like “sit” and “kennel” and walks pretty well on a leash, although she’s still working on mastering her strutting skills completely. Although she’s mostly out of her puppy phase, Reba Rose Sunshine would love a home where she gets consistency and structure, that way she’s able to continue building her good habits! She would also thrive in an environment where her family is active and engaged with her since she loves the people in her SUNSHINE gang! ☀️ Reba Rose Sunshine is spayed, vaccinated, microchipped, and up to date on heartworm/flea/tick preventatives. Her adoption fee is $175. Meet-and-greets will be scheduled with approved adopters from PawsitiveTailsKC.org.

Story
Aside from their wonderful temperament, there are so many other reasons to adopt a Black Labrador Retriever, and here are the top five... 5. They are easy to find in a snowstorm 4. Black and white photography is so much fun 3. You never know if they have been rolling in mud 2. Makes a game of hide and seek in the dark, oh so challenging! And the number 1 reason to adopt a Black Labrador Retriever *drum roll* 1. With their stunning, shiny black coat, they go with everything! But seriously, Callaway is true to her breed. She loves everyone. When she meets you, it will feel like you are the most loved person on earth. After all the loves and kisses, she settles down nicely with a bone or to nibble on a stuffed toy. She is a young gal, around 1 year old, and weighs 45 pounds. We believe Callaway is a mix of another breed but retains all the wonderful, fun qualities of the beloved lab. Miss Callaway is house-trained and crate-trained. She loves nothing more than to sack out on the couch after some playtime. Hiking or walking on trails is her dream pastime. So much wildlife and nature to sniff. Hold on tight to that leash; if she sees a squirrel, she understands a lab’s assignment to catch and retrieve. Got a pond, creek, or pool she can swim in? Those webbed feet aren’t just for looks; they have a very specific purpose! Callaway would love an active home with plenty of opportunities to sniff, play, and be the young pup she is. Her story had a “phew!” beginning. She was very pregnant and found herself on the euthanasia list. Minutes before her time, we said NOT TODAY and grabbed her. Shortly after, she gave birth to seven beautiful little babies. Now that her babies are finding their forever homes, she is ready to start looking for one of her own. She has been around dogs and seems fine with them. Callaway will come home spayed, microchipped, and up to date on vaccinations and flea/tick/heartworm prevention. Her adoption fee is $175. Find your way to PawsitiveTailsKC.org to fill out an application. Once approved, you will be contacted to schedule a meet-and-greet. Oh, yeah, we forgot one more thing from the list… She will love you forever, and you will wonder how you ever lived without her. 🖤🤎❤️🧡💛💚💙💜🤍💜💙💚💛🧡❤️🤎🖤 APPLY @ PawsitiveTailsKC.org 🖤🤎❤️🧡💛💚💙💜🤍💜💙💚💛🧡❤️🤎🖤

Story
Chase has learned to live with our cat & I've seen him play well with small dogs.He does have medium/big dog fear aggression. I asked previous owner if he had been attacked or bitten by another dog or a wild animal, they said no. He has been a part of our family for 4 yrs & isn't as reactive w/other dogs as he used to be. That's to say, if he is a good distance he doesn't growl & lunge as much.Chase needs an experienced adopter, plenty of room to roam in his own pvt yard without medium/big dogs nearby. I have talked with a couple of trainers & they think it's likely he can be trained out of his fear aggression. This would be from a knowledgeable owner or trained professional. He loves people & attention. I would caution that he isn't in a home w/small children just because he hasn't lived w/young children in our home or w/original owner. He really is very sweet like Golden Retrievers are known for, he just has some special needs.Any of his supplies you want are part of adoption fee!
