Story
Buckaroo is a sweet lab mix who came to our rescue through one of our outreach partners. He is only three months old and eager for his forever home! Buckaroo has been blossoming in foster care and is officially ready to find his forever home! When he first arrived, this sweet boy was a little skittish and unsure — but in just a short time, he’s come out of his shell beautifully. Watching his confidence grow has been the best part. 🥹 Bucky gets along great with older dogs and absolutely loves to play. He’s also been around kids (ages 7–9) and has done wonderfully — playful, gentle, and so happy to be included in the fun. He’s even curious about cats and would love to be friends…even if the cat isn’t quite convinced yet. 😄 This boy has the perfect puppy balance: zoomies in the yard followed by full-on cuddle mode. He wants to be near his people and will happily snuggle up beside you on the couch or in bed. He eats well, loves to run and explore, and truly thrives on connection. When he arrived, he wasn’t potty trained — but he’s learning quickly! He follows the other dogs outside and is starting to understand the routine. He’s still having occasional accidents if he’s not taken out frequently, but that’s very normal puppy progress. Consistency and patience will go a long way. If you’re looking for a loving, energetic, affectionate pup who just needs guidance and a whole lot of love, Buckaroo might be your perfect match. ----------------------------------------- If you’re interested in adopting, please apply online at mscrescue.org/adopt. Story
Meet Thia 🐾 | The Sweet, Smart, Curious Girl Ready for Her Forever Home Thia is a young Lab/Retriever mix with a huge heart and a wonderfully silly, affectionate personality. She recently spent some furloughs in some foster homes so we can learn more about her. Everyone has agreed that she is a wonderful, loving girl who just needs the right match to truly thrive. 💛Sweet, Curious & People-Oriented 💛 Thia loves being with her humans. She happily follows you around, settles for pets, and will carry her stuffed toys from room to room like little treasures. Indoors, once she’s had a few minutes to adjust, she is calm, affectionate, and surprisingly quiet — even with dogs walking by outside. She has slept through the night, kept her crate clean, and loved playing with toys and exploring new spaces. 💛 Great With Kids 💛 She was gentle with a foster’s 4-year-old and didn’t jump on him. She does get excited with fast movement (very normal for a young dog!) and was a little overwhelming for a curious 1.5-year-old who was right at her face level — but overall she handled the bustle of young kids very well. She may do best with kiddos that are just a bit older who understand dog behavior and can handle puppy energy. 🐕‍🦺 Behavior With Other Dogs 🐕‍🦺 Thia wants to interact with other dogs so badly that she becomes overstimulated. Her initial barking/lunging isn’t aggression — it’s dysregulated excitement. Once she makes contact, she goes from 0 to 100 and doesn’t yet know how to play appropriately. Because of this we believe Thia will thrive as an only dog. Thia is highly responsive and attentive when no other dogs are around. 💪 Strength, Training & Home Requirements Thia is strong and would do best with someone familiar with energetic, muscular breeds or dogs who get overstimulated. She is incredibly smart, treat-motivated, and already knows a few commands. She improves quickly with routine and positive reinforcement. Her ideal home would have: • 🐕 Needs to be the only dog in the home — she prefers having her people all to herself • 👧 Great with kids who understand dog behavior and can handle puppy energy • 🏡 Would thrive most in a home with space to run and build confidence • Thia does not have experience with cats, so we do not know how she would do with felines. However, given both her strength and enthusiasm, we believe a home free of felines may be best for this girl! 🧸 Toys, Crates & Daily Life Thia loves squeaky toys, fetch (she’ll bring the ball right back!), and chewing on safe toys. She allows toys to be taken from her mouth without complaint. She has some hesitation with the crate, but both fosters believe she will adjust well with high-value treats, Kongs, and continued positive training. While one foster worked from home, Thia entertained herself beautifully — playing with toys, watching the world out the window, and checking in for affection. She was a sweet, surprisingly easy WFH companion. Thia is incredibly smart, treat-motivated, and eager to learn. She already knows sit and down, is crate trained, and thrives with positive reinforcement. Thia is ready to leave shelter life behind and step into a home of her own — one filled with safety, routine, and people who adore her playful, gentle heart. If you’re looking for a loyal, loving companion who brings joy and sweetness everywhere she goes, Thia just might be your girl. 💛 ----------------------------------------- If you’re interested in adopting, please apply online at mscrescue.org/adopt. Story
🐈🐈Cat-friendly 🐈🐈 Willow Grace is a sweet, soulful 2-year-old Black Labrador Retriever weighing 77 lbs. She loves all things mellow and low-key. Rather than looking for mischief and other antics, Willow looks for calm, steady routines. You see, somewhere in Willow’s past, she learned it was sometimes safer to hide from humans. Since being in her foster home, she’s learning to trust again and becoming a bit braver each day! Willow Grace needs a cozy, secure home with someone willing to guide her gently at her own pace and to continue building trust. This darling is fully house-trained and kennel-trained, but feels most comfortable sleeping under a table. She is learning to walk confidently on a leash and what these things called ‘dog toys’ are. Although Miss Willow is a little apprehensive, don’t let that fool you! She is very friendly! She loves dogs of all sizes and even gets along with cats! Willow is unsure about kiddos; sometimes she hides from them. We know she has weathered some storms, but she’s shown strength and resilience just like her namesake, the willow tree, which bends without breaking. Our sweet Willow Grace has shown her foster parents that she wants to love, play, and belong. She needs a little help getting there with a calm home and someone patient, kind, and who understands that love and trust can take time. If you have the love and patience that Willow needs, please fill out an application at PawsitiveTailsKc.org. She is spayed, microchipped, current on vaccinations, flea and tick preventatives, and heartworm prevention. Her adoption fee is $175. Meet-and-greets will be set up with approved adopters. 🖤🤎❤️🧡💛💚💙💜🤍💜💙💚💛🧡❤️🤎🖤 APPLY @ PawsitiveTailsKC.org 🖤🤎❤️🧡💛💚💙💜🤍💜💙💚💛🧡❤️🤎🖤 If you’re looking for a calm, intelligent, and beautifully resilient girl, Willow Grace would love to meet you! She is ready to be your devoted companion who she’ll love with her whole heart.

Story
🍀 Lucky 🍀 is one of those dogs that makes you feel better, just having him around the house or by your side. Your heart is lighter, you smile more, and you find yourself looking on the bright side of things. He is a 6-year-old blind Labrador Retriever mix weighing about 60 lbs. He’s so smart, and his blindness really doesn’t affect him that much, as you’ll see when you read more about him. 🍀 Lucky 🍀 is mellow and just goes with the flow. Especially when the flow includes pets and cuddles for him, which he accepts graciously, without being pushy about it. He absolutely adores kids and is super friendly and gentle with everyone he meets. He’s a smart boy and knows commands like sit, lay down and shake. He is a really good boy around the house and doesn’t get into stuff that isn’t his. He can be left alone while his people are busy or away, and he sleeps all night in bed with people, in his dog bed or on the couch. His goofy side emerges when there might be food or treats available. Those are a couple of his favorite things, and he gets all excited at meal time or when his people get near where the treats are kept. He loves all toys, especially ones he can play tug with. He also likes to play “go find.” 🍀 Lucky 🍀 enjoys walks and does all right on the leash. Mostly, though, he’s lower energy and just wants to snuggle with you while you pet him. He gets along with other dogs, and bigger dogs are preferable to small ones. Because of his eyesight, Lucky should have a fenced yard. He’d do great with a dog sibling to show him the ropes. He can do stairs just fine, but ideally he’s in a home that doesn’t have an excessive amount of stairs. If you adopt 🍀 Lucky 🍀, YOU are going to be the lucky one(s)! He’s truly a gem and so easy to love. He is neutered, vaccinated, microchipped and current on heartworm/flea/tick preventatives. His adoption fee is $175. Apply to adopt him at PawsitiveTailsKC.org, and meet him once you’re approved! 🍀🍀🍀🍀🍀🍀🍀🍀🍀🍀🍀🍀🍀🍀🍀🍀🍀 APPLY @ PawsitiveTailsKC.org 🍀🍀🍀🍀🍀🍀🍀🍀🍀🍀🍀🍀🍀🍀🍀🍀🍀

Story
Chase has learned to live with our cat & I've seen him play well with small dogs. He does have medium/big dog fear aggression. I asked previous owner if he had been bitten by another dog or a wild animal, they said no. He has been a part of our family for 3.5 years & isn't as reactive with other dogs as he used to be. That's to say, if he is a good distance he doesn't growl and lunge as much. Chase needs an experienced adopter with plenty of room to roam in his own private yard without medium/big dogs nearby. I have talked with a couple of trainers & they think it's likely he can be trained out of his fear aggression. This would be from a knowledgeable owner or trained professional. He loves people & attention. I would caution that he isn't in a home with small children just because he hasn't lived with young children in our home or with original owner. He really is very sweet like Golden Retrievers are known for, he just has some special needs.
