Story
Buckaroo is a sweet lab mix who came to our rescue through one of our outreach partners. He is only three months old and eager for his forever home! Buckaroo has been blossoming in foster care and is officially ready to find his forever home! When he first arrived, this sweet boy was a little skittish and unsure — but in just a short time, he’s come out of his shell beautifully. Watching his confidence grow has been the best part. 🥹 Bucky gets along great with older dogs and absolutely loves to play. He’s also been around kids (ages 7–9) and has done wonderfully — playful, gentle, and so happy to be included in the fun. He’s even curious about cats and would love to be friends…even if the cat isn’t quite convinced yet. 😄 This boy has the perfect puppy balance: zoomies in the yard followed by full-on cuddle mode. He wants to be near his people and will happily snuggle up beside you on the couch or in bed. He eats well, loves to run and explore, and truly thrives on connection. When he arrived, he wasn’t potty trained — but he’s learning quickly! He follows the other dogs outside and is starting to understand the routine. He’s still having occasional accidents if he’s not taken out frequently, but that’s very normal puppy progress. Consistency and patience will go a long way. If you’re looking for a loving, energetic, affectionate pup who just needs guidance and a whole lot of love, Buckaroo might be your perfect match. ----------------------------------------- If you’re interested in adopting, please apply online at mscrescue.org/adopt. Story
Meet Thia 🐾 Thia is a young, lovable Lab/Retriever Mix gal with a big heart and a playful, silly personality just waiting to shine in her forever home. While the shelter can feel overwhelming for her, the moment she gets outside and feels safe, she transforms into an affectionate, fun-loving companion who just wants to be close to her people. Thia is incredibly smart and super eager to learn — and treats are truly the way to her heart 🦴💛. She already knows sit and down and is quickly building her leash skills. On walks, she frequently “checks in” to see what the treat situation is, which tells us she’ll be an excellent student for learning new commands. She responds beautifully to positive reinforcement and truly wants to do well. Thia is: • 🐶 Dog-friendly (best with a more submissive dog friend or as the only dog) • 👧 Great with kids • 🧠 Smart, eager to learn, and very responsive • 🦴 Highly treat-motivated (she loves to check in!) • 🐾 Playful, affectionate, and wonderfully silly • 🛏 Crate trained Like many young dogs, Thia is still polishing her leash manners and can get excited on walks. She may react to cars and will benefit from continued training and consistency — but she improves quickly and thrives with structure. She would likely do best in a house rather than an apartment, where she has space to burn energy and continue building confidence. Thia is ready to trade the shelter for a loving home where she can feel safe, have fun, and keep learning. If you’re looking for a smart, energetic, affectionate dog who will reward your patience with loyalty and love, Thia may be your perfect match. 💛 ----------------------------------------- If you’re interested in adopting, please apply online at mscrescue.org/adopt. Story
🍀 Lucky 🍀 is one of those dogs that makes you feel better, just having him around the house or by your side. Your heart is lighter, you smile more, and you find yourself looking on the bright side of things. He is a 6-year-old blind Labrador Retriever mix weighing about 60 lbs. He’s so smart, and his blindness really doesn’t affect him that much, as you’ll see when you read more about him. 🍀 Lucky 🍀 is mellow and just goes with the flow. Especially when the flow includes pets and cuddles for him, which he accepts graciously, without being pushy about it. He absolutely adores kids and is super friendly and gentle with everyone he meets. He’s a smart boy and knows commands like sit, lay down and shake. He is a really good boy around the house and doesn’t get into stuff that isn’t his. He can be left alone while his people are busy or away, and he sleeps all night in bed with people, in his dog bed or on the couch. His goofy side emerges when there might be food or treats available. Those are a couple of his favorite things, and he gets all excited at meal time or when his people get near where the treats are kept. He loves all toys, especially ones he can play tug with. He also likes to play “go find.” 🍀 Lucky 🍀 enjoys walks and does all right on the leash. Mostly, though, he’s lower energy and just wants to snuggle with you while you pet him. He gets along with other dogs, and bigger dogs are preferable to small ones. Because of his eyesight, Lucky should have a fenced yard. He’d do great with a dog sibling to show him the ropes. He can do stairs just fine, but ideally he’s in a home that doesn’t have an excessive amount of stairs. If you adopt 🍀 Lucky 🍀, YOU are going to be the lucky one(s)! He’s truly a gem and so easy to love. He is neutered, vaccinated, microchipped and current on heartworm/flea/tick preventatives. His adoption fee is $175. Apply to adopt him at PawsitiveTailsKC.org, and meet him once you’re approved! 🍀🍀🍀🍀🍀🍀🍀🍀🍀🍀🍀🍀🍀🍀🍀🍀🍀 APPLY @ PawsitiveTailsKC.org 🍀🍀🍀🍀🍀🍀🍀🍀🍀🍀🍀🍀🍀🍀🍀🍀🍀

Story
🐈🐱🐈 Cat-friendly 🐈🐱🐈 A light sprinkling of Pepper can be all you need to savor life’s good stuff! Pepper came to us shy and scared, but we could tell there was a whole lot of sweetness in there. With lots of snuggles, consistency and a few treats, her personality has absolutely blossomed while she’s been in foster. She is adorable and loves to be loved. Her history of being neglected has not changed her love toward people one bit. She’s gonna make someone(s) such a terrific pal. Pepper is a goofy 1-year-old Catahoula/Black Labrador mix who weighs a svelte 40 pounds. Her coat and markings are endlessly beautiful – and her looks definitely attract attention. Like any good peppery flavor, she’ll take a bit of time to show her full character. So she’ll need a patient family who’ll give her the days and weeks to get accustomed to her new place. Before you know it, her silly self will emerge, and she’ll be talking to you regularly and asking for her favorite belly scratches. She is a low-key lady who just wants someone to love her (which is really easy to do). Pepper loves all her people once she’s comfortable. She likes things pretty quiet, so she should live with older kids (10+) who don’t make as much noise. She doesn’t jump on kids and is really patient with them. She likes to take her time getting to know other dogs, but once she is acquainted, she likes them a lot. She LOVES her foster dog sibling and would benefit from having a confident dog around to show her how great her new family and home are. She does fine with cats. Pepper sits on command and responds to other things you say. She is house trained with a consistent routine, and she’s crate trained. She sleeps in bed with her foster people or on the floor at night. She does fine on a leash, but she is afraid of cars, so walks aren’t always her favorite. Walks on trails or paths away from the street could be enjoyable, with time. She is spayed, vaccinated and microchipped, and she’ll come to you current on flea/tick/heartworm preventatives. Her adoption fee is $175. To adopt this beauty, apply today at PawsitiveTailsKC.org. 🖤🤎❤️🧡💛💚💙💜 APPLY @ PawsitiveTailsKC.org 💜💙💚💛🧡❤️🤎🖤

Story
Come for the happy puppy energy, stay for the cuddles! That is Megatron’s vibe encapsulated. And one of these days, the rest of Megatron will catch up with his big paws and transform him into a full-grown good boy, who’ll probably weigh upwards of 60 lbs. He is a 4-month-old Labrador Retriever mix who is ready to make himself at home at your place with your family. Megatron sits on command and walks great on a leash – pretty impressive for a pup his age, to be able to focus that puppy brain. He is working on house training and crate training, so with practice, he’ll get all of that down pat and be ready to put his best foot (read: huge puppy paw!) forward. As a puppy, he has lots of energy for toys and playtime. He’d love to play whatever games you have in mind, and he’s equally happy to include other dogs in the fun. He’s a great dog playtime buddy, and he doesn’t have to, but he’d have a blast in a home with a doggie sibling. If you have a yard where he can run, all the better for tiring out those growing legs. Megatron basks in love and attention – he wants all you’re willing to give him. The good pets, the best scratches and all the “good boys” you can say will please him to no end. You’ll get rewarded with some of the sweetest snuggling ever. At night, he cuddles up and drifts off to sleep in bed with his foster people, too. He will come to you neutered, microchipped and up-to-date on age-appropriate vaccines, as well as current on flea/tick prevention and heartworm preventative. His adoption fee is $275. If you want to take this adorable puppy machine for a spin, apply to adopt him today at PawsitiveTailsKC.org. 🖤🤎❤️🧡💛💚💙💜🤍💜💙💚💛🧡❤️🤎🖤 APPLY @ PawsitiveTailsKC.org 🖤🤎❤️🧡💛💚💙💜🤍💜💙💚💛🧡❤️🤎🖤

🐱 🐈 🐱 Cat Friendly 🐱 🐈 🐱 Hi! My name is Cake. I think they named me Cake because they just knew I was gonna be one sweet boy! My foster parents sometimes call me Cakey and sometimes monster...but only when I gallop around the house in search of toys to play with! I'm all house-trained and crate-trained! I've learned some commands, such as "sit" and "down". I'm a smart boy. I have two foster siblings. I love to play with them. They are teaching me all about being a good boy and how to be a good family member! Sometimes I get really excited, I can hardly stand it! But once I get pets and kisses, I melt right away into a ball of cuddles. If you like to have your Cake and snuggle it too, then this guy is for you. His adoption fee is $175 and includes neutering, microchipping, age-appropriate vaccines, and flea/tick/heartworm preventatives. Story
These days, we need to consider who belongs in our pod, our inner circle, our chosen family. We can be friendly to everyone, but only a certain few really deserve that bestie distinction, you know? Rudie likes to take a little time to decide if you are her peeps. She looks for reassurance and she checks if you have some patience (and some treats, she’s definitely checking for treats!) for you to welcome each other into the truest fam. Once you’re connected, you’ll have a bond with all the feels and all the warm fuzzies you could possibly want. The rewards are infinite of having a front-row seat to seeing a dog discover that their humans are the absolute best! You’ll get to see her try new things and gain confidence, and there is nothing better. Rudie is a 5-year-old, 50-lb. Labrador Retriever mix who wants soooo badly to be your BFF. And she’ll get there, with a little time and space. She has started new experiences with her foster people, by learning to walk on a leash. Now, she’s found the joys of stop ‘n’ sniffs throughout the neighborhood. Who knew that’s so much fun?! She sits on command, and she loves a good chew toy. She treats her favorite stuffie toys so gently. Life is grand! She’s really quite a couch potato, though sometimes she erupts with zoomies after her person has been gone and comes home. Silly girl. Rudie doesn’t like any loud or sudden noises, so that’s when she looks to her chosen people to keep things even keel for her. She’ll need to live in a calmer home with adults or with kids who are tweens to teens and older, and who’ll give her the space to bloom where she’s planted, thriving best as the one-and-only pup in the household. She is house trained, spayed, microchipped and vaccinated, as well as current on heartworm preventative and flea/tick prevention. Her adoption fee is $175. To meet her, pack your patience and your treats, and apply to adopt her at PawsitiveTailsKC.org. 🖤🤎❤️🧡💛💚💙💜🤍💜💙💚💛🧡❤️🤎🖤 APPLY @ PawsitiveTailsKC.org 🖤🤎❤️🧡💛💚💙💜🤍💜💙💚💛🧡❤️🤎🖤

Story
Chase has learned to live with our cat & I've seen him play well with small dogs. He does have medium/big dog fear aggression. I asked previous owner if he had been bitten by another dog or a wild animal, they said no. He has been a part of our family for 3.5 years & isn't as reactive with other dogs as he used to be. That's to say, if he is a good distance he doesn't growl and lunge as much. Chase needs an experienced adopter with plenty of room to roam in his own private yard without medium/big dogs nearby. I have talked with a couple of trainers & they think it's likely he can be trained out of his fear aggression. This would be from a knowledgeable owner or trained professional. He loves people & attention. I would caution that he isn't in a home with small children just because he hasn't lived with young children in our home or with original owner. He really is very sweet like Golden Retrievers are known for, he just has some special needs.
