Meet Bubba!This thick, handsome boy came to PCHS from an impound. Bubba is estimated to be between 6-8 years of age and is around 87 pounds! Bubba appears to be a Chesapeake Bay Retriever or an English Labrador Retriever, but we do not know for sure. Bubba was in desperate need of some medical attention when he arrived. He had a severe double ear infection and very inflamed and itchy skin. He is on the mend and starting to feel better with some much needed medications. Bubba has thickened ears likely due to untreated hematomas over the years. He also seems to have struggled with skin allergies for some time. He was recently started on an allergy medication and his new owners will need to be committed to giving him this medication for the rest of his life. Bubba is sweet, affectionate, and enjoys going on walks. He seems to do okay with other dogs, and with proper introductions he may be able to live with cats as well. You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Emmett arrived from the city pound on July 12th when his legal hold was finished. He had been found tied to a table at a local park. He's a younger guy, maybe around 2 years old and appears to be a lab mix of some kind. Maybe some hound, shepherd...it's a guessing game. He does have some crazy double dew claws on his hind feet that give him a unique quality. His fee is $150. Emmett is a bit unsure of himself and can be quite shy at first. However he's really quite loving and goofy. We think he has the potential to be a fun companion. He does appear to be okay with other dogs. We don't know about cats at all. We're not sure if he has ever been around young kids. He will require some basic training in all areas and will need regular exercise. NOTE:  Adoptions are done via private appointment once an application has been completed and approved. Applications must be submitted at our website, mchs.rescuegroups.org. We are located at 101 22nd St. SE in Austin, right next to the airport. It's exit 180B off of I-90, right off of 218 South. You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Spinner arrived from the city pound on Sept. 13 when his stray hold expired and no one had claimed him. To say he is exuberant is a gross understatement. He is EXUBERANT! We think he's an approximately 1 year old black lab (mix?) and the puppy is still strong within him. He has been vet checked, neutered, and microchipped and his fee is $150.  Spinner will need a lot of basic training and a whole lot of exercise. He's a fun-loving guy who hasn't quite learned the concept of "chill". He does do well other active dogs of similar size but his energy might be way over the top for cats. Kids? No small kids for this guy, unless you want them to take flight. All kidding aside, Spinner has a heck of a lot of potential. He just needs a good home to harness it and give him the training he deserves and requires. NOTE:  Adoptions are done via private appointment once an application has been completed and approved.
