Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Emmett arrived from the city pound on 7/12/2025 when his legal hold was finished. He had been found tied to a table at a local park. He is approximately 2 to 3 years old and is a mystery mixed breed. Maybe some hound, shepherd, lab...it's a guessing game. He does have some crazy double dew claws on his hind feet that give him a unique quality. He has been vet checked, neutered, and microchipped, and his fee is $150. Emmett is a bit unsure of himself and can be quite shy at first. However he's really quite loving and goofy. We think he has the potential to be a fun companion. He does appear to be okay with other dogs. We don't know about cats at all. We're not sure if he has ever been around young kids. He will require some basic training in all areas and will need regular exercise. NOTE:  Adoptions are done via private appointment once an application has been completed and approved. Applications must be submitted at our website, mchs.rescuegroups.org. We are located at 101 22nd St. SE in Austin, right next to the airport. It's exit 180B off of I-90, right off of 218 South. We do require that potential adopters be at least 21 years old and that any resident dogs be up to date on vaccinations, heartworm testing/preventatives, and spayed or neutered.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.December 9, 2025, 9:11 pm

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Cookie is one of 3 puppies who were found on a rural property in late October 2025. They had to stay in a foster home for over 2 months because we did not have room at the shelter. As of January 2026, Cookie has made it to MCHS and is still needing a home since her sisters have been adopted. She is now around 7 months old and weighs approximately 45 pounds. She has been fully vetted and microchipped and her fee is $150. Cookie was said to be the most adventurous of the 3 siblings. She loves to explore and kind of push the boundaries a little bit. She is active and fun loving. She has done well with other dogs and kids. She's curious about cats but has shown no negative behavior around them. She's ready for action and would love a home that is ready and able to keep up with her and her antics. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Spinner arrived from the city pound on 9/13/2025 when his stray hold expired and no one had claimed him. To say he is exuberant is a gross understatement. He is EXUBERANT! He looks mostly like a black lab, and he's no older than 2, so the puppy is still strong within hm. He has been vet checked, neutered, and microchipped and his fee is $150.  Spinner will need a lot of basic training and a whole lot of exercise. He's a fun-loving guy who hasn't quite learned the concept of "chill". He does do well other active dogs of similar size but his energy might be way over the top for cats. Kids? No small kids for this guy, unless you want them to take flight. All kidding aside, Spinner has a heck of a lot of potential. He just needs a good home to harness it and give him the training he deserves and requires. NOTE:  Adoptions are done via private appointment once an application has been completed and approved.
