Story
Meet miss Penny! This sweet girl was transferred to PCHS from a valued rescue partner. She was originally found as a stray around a busy apartment complex. Unfortunately, no one ever came looking for her. Penny is estimated to be a beagle/lab mix and roughly 5 years old. She is on the medium side and is under 50 pounds. Penny is an easy girl who adjusts well to new situations and environments. She is very `go with the flow` if you will. She enjoys spending time with people, going on walks, and having tasty snacks. She also loves to sing the song of her people and does the traditional beagle `awhoos`. Penny would do well in just about any home. She is hoping her time here can be short and have a home for the holidays! Could that be you? If you think so, apply online today!Adoption fee is $350 + $30 microchip fee + tax

Story
Ziegler “Ziggy” is in need of a foster home. His family is moving to an apartment, which would not be a good fit for him. He would do best in a calm home with a fenced yard and could enjoy the company of another playful dog after a slow, proper introduction. No cats, might be a little jumpy for small children. Please email dogteam@campcompanion.org with any questions about fostering Ziggy

Story
Saison is about 2 years old and already has an incredible story of resilience. She showed up at a home in northern Kansas, had a litter of puppies, and during her spay it was discovered she was heartworm positive. She bravely went through treatment and is now finished, happy, and ready for her forever family. Despite everything she’s been through, Saison has shown us glimpses that she may have once been someone’s beloved pet. She: - Walks nicely on leash (though she’ll need practice when seeing other dogs). - Hops right into the car and LOVES going for rides 🚗 - Is crate trained and housebroken - She does have a recall, she currently lives on 8 acres and will stick around unless a bunny or cat runs by. - Loves cuddling up in bed with her humans 🛏️💞 - Saison is wonderful with kids and adores people. She does well with most dogs, especially medium to large males, and would be happy in a home with or without another dog. ⚠️ A few things to note: - She cannot live in an apartment or townhome and that is because of her reactivity on a leash. She does have some leash and barrier reactivity that will need continued training. - She cannot live with cats or chickens. She was brought into our rescue because she killed chickens and she will try to kill the farm cat. She shouldn't be with small dogs, mainly because her pray drive is so intense we want small dogs to be safe. - Saison has been out and about on Mayo Clinic grounds, she's met staff and patients and loves them. Saison truly is a lover and while her barrier/leash issues need work, she is a sweet, sweet dog. 👉 As part of her lifelong care, Saison will need to remain on monthly heartworm preventatives and have yearly heartworm tests. Apply to adopt at www.campcompanion.org Adoption fee is $350 plus tax.
