Washington (President Litter)     ⁃    Neutered     ⁃    Up to date on vaccines     ⁃    Dewormed     ⁃    Flea Prevention     ⁃    HW Prevention     ⁃    Microchipped     ⁃    Crate trained & Housebroken     ⁃    Good with most     ⁃    Good with older children     ⁃    Approx 65-70 lbs Meet Washington, the Lab mix who will steal your heart with his goofy grin and boundless love! Washington is a 2-year-old adult male who is full of life and energy. 🐾🐾 He may be a little shy at first, but once he warms up to you, he's your best friend for life. He's always happy 😃 to see you, whether you've been gone for five minutes or five hours. He loves to play with toys🧸 , go for walks, and cuddle on the couch. Washington can be a bit dominant with other dogs, so he's best suited for a home with either no other dogs or older, calmer dogs. He's good with most dogs once he gets to know them, but he does appreciate having some space to himself sometimes. Washington is also great with older children 👦.  He's gentle and playful, and he loves to run around the backyard.  He's not a good fit for homes with very young children, as he can be a bit too rambunctious for them. Overall, Washington is a loving, happy dog who would make a great addition to any family. He's smart, trainable, and always up for an adventure. If you're looking for a loyal companion who will make you laugh 😂 every day, Washington is the dog for you! Here are some of Washington's other qualities:     •    He is housebroken and crate-trained.     •    He is up-to-date on all of his vaccinations.     •    He is neutered.     •    He is microchipped. Story
🫶🏼UPDATE: beau is now thriving in a foster home with his five fur siblings and his foster parents. Beau is beyond happy to finally be in a home and is the best boy. He loves to play with his foster siblings and follow his parents around the house. 🫶🏼 Meet Beau, a special pup with an extraordinary story. Beau started his life as part of an accidental litter, born because his mom wasn’t spayed. Despite his rough beginning, Beau’s resilience shines through. Beau came into rescue a bit older than the cute, roly-poly puppies, so he didn’t get as much attention from adopters. He spent several months in a kennel through no fault of his own. He had a foster who loved him, but life’s demands meant he didn’t get all the attention and outlets he needed. We invested in a board and train program for Beau, where he learned valuable manners and skills hoping it would make him more desirable for a potential foster or adopter. But once his training was over, we had no foster for him, so he ended up back in boarding, where he got along great with other dogs, but was a little too enthusiastic about food around his furiends. He now lives in a foster home with 5 other dogs , but Beau is now craving the love and attention of a forever home. Beau is people-oriented, food, and treat motivated, and an ideal adventure buddy. He gets along with everyone but does need clear structure and boundaries for his higher energy level. Beau is strong-willed and would thrive with an owner who can provide him with the attention, love, and structure he needs to be a fantastic family dog. He’s already house-trained and knows how to use a doggie door. He sleeps great in his crate overnight and has never had an accident. He knows how to sit and is working on his manners and leash walking and improving fast! Story
Affectionately called "Tiny Terra" by her foster pawrents, this gorgeous little pup is an adorable mixture of sassy and sweet. Terra is a medium sized mixed breed that we guess is part Lab and part who knows. She was pulled from a local shelter after being put on the euthanasia list. We saved her, got her healthy and this little pup is ready for her furever! And yes, her ears do naturally stand like that. We're in love with them too. Terra is a precious pup that loves to play but has also settled into an amazing pup that enjoys a good cuddle and movie on the couch. She loves to play in the yard and would adore having a 4 legged sibling that likes to play. She also enjoys going for runs or walks in the neighborhood. This girl handles car rides like a pro and immediately starts the sniffs when you crack the window. She is naturally curious though so an owner that can help establish boundaries would be better. She's managed to get her nose in our coffee cups more than once but isn't destructive. This playful pup will be an amazing addition to the right family. Terra would be great with older kids that are steady on 2 legs. She's incredibly smart, knows sit and working on place, house trained, crate trained, and knows her leash manners. Terra corrects easily and is very sensitive so gentle guidance will be all you need for her. She can get chatty when she's frustrated, like when her 4 legged siblings don't want to play. :D A simple "that's enough" and she settles. If you're interested in learning more about this gorgeous girl or would like to apply and have her join your family, please submit this form: dixiegirldogrescue.org/adopt-form. We'll forward it to her foster mom who will reach out from there. ================================================= If interested in adopting one of our available pets, please fill out an application at http://www.dixiegirldogrescue.org/adopt-form PLEASE MAKE NOTE- OUR DOGS ARE FOSTERED IN ALABAMA (UNLESS OTHERWISE STATED), OUR DOGS TRANSPORT TO THEIR NEW FAMILIES IN VT AFTER THEY HAVE BEEN ADOPTED.
