APPLICATION: If this dog has stolen your heart, don't wait! Please apply online now to be considered as a potential adopter. NAME, GENDER, AGE WEIGHT BREED & VIDEO DOG: GREEN JEANS GENDER: MALE DOB: 01-15-24 WEIGHT: 25 lbs BREED: Flat Coat Retriever (Comfort Dog) LOCATION: Preston CT DONATION $550.00 VIDEO: Pups Green, Red & Pink Outside Exploring on how to navigate a ramp and stairs - this was built just for rescue dogs to learn how to use stairs and a ramp Green Jeans weighed 42.2 lbs. on June 13, 2024, he is a male flat coat retriever and was the first born. He is very loving and a laid-back big boy; each day before he is put down for a nap, he is the first to snuggle right up to his human and put his right paw on her leg. He is very smart, loving and social with people and dogs. He loves the pool but just but cautious about what exactly water is all about, personal attention and companionship from his littermates and humans. His foster mom tells us that he can be independent and can take the role of a very gentle alpha when the other two pups need him to slow their play time down. At night, foster mom always takes a moment to talk to him and he rolls over for a belly run. He loves his siblings and will snuggle with his brother Red between the pen sections, comes when he is called, and he knows how to sit for food. Foster mom does think he definitely loves his people. He is trained to use the litter box and is working on his leash training. Green Jeans has a lot to offer a loving family. This guy is very gentle and enjoys his time with his humans. He is very loving, attentive, and follows foster mom all over! He is a puppy and has lots of energy, but can quickly settle down and become a very large and loving lap dog! Green Jeans is best described as a happy go lucky guy, eager to run, play and be with his siblings. He is a polite, learns quickly and a real loving little boy. If you’re looking for an easy-going family dog, then he is right for you. Nothing would be better than curling up with him at the end of the day. Flat Coat Retrievers are comfort dogs. Story
. He’s about 3 years old, roughly 45 lbs, crate trained, potty trained, walks beautifully on leash, and in structured social settings he does really well. He is not chaotic. He is not unpredictable. He is thoughtful. He watches. He processes. But -- . He is sensitive. He reads energy. He needs leadership. And most importantly, he needs the right canine presence in the home. When we say Kory needs a confident dog, we mean . A dog who moves through the world steady and neutral. A dog who is not reactive, not hesitant, not unsure. A dog who can calmly correct and then move on. That kind of presence changes Kory immediately. If you have a dog who struggles with new people, new dogs, new environments, or needs constant reassurance, that is not what Kory needs. We appreciate the love and the “they can grow together” sentiment, but this is not the time for that. He needs stability, not another project. He also needs: • • • , • ’ We are taking this placement seriously. We moved too optimistically before. That’s on us. We will not repeat that. Please understand that reviewing applications for Kory may take longer than our typical timeline. We are going to move slowly and intentionally. . If you truly believe your home fits what Kory needs, we want to hear from you. He is a really good dog. He has shown us that again and again. He just needs the kind of environment that understands him and is willing to lead him with confidence instead of trying to fix him.   This dog is up to date on vaccinations and is spayed or neutered. (Please note: Puppies under 3 months old may not be sterilized prior to adoption. If this is the case, your adoption coordinator will provide guidance on the process.)   To adopt or learn more about this dog, you must complete an adoption application, which can be found on our website: www.sandypawsrescue.com.   PLEASE READ:     •    If a dog or puppy is listed, they are currently available for adoption. However, they may already be pending an adoption, and their profile may not yet reflect this.     •    All information is accurate to the best of our knowledge as of the posting date.     •    Unless explicitly stated, Sandy Paws Rescue does not guarantee the breed of any dog. Breeds listed are educated guesses made by shelter staff, volunteers, or veterinarians. Many of our dogs are mixed breeds, often with pit bull-type genetics, resulting in a wide variety of physical traits and temperaments.   Our dogs come from various situations, such as kill shelters, owner surrenders, or as strays. It is likely both parents were mixed breeds as well.   Sandy Paws Rescue does not have a public shelter in Massachusetts. Our dogs reside in private foster homes or boarding kennels in the South until adopted. Many dogs are spoken for prior to transport or release from state-mandated isolation.   For information on adoption fees, procedures, or FAQs, visit our website: www.sandypawsrescue.com.   The FIRST step in adopting from Sandy Paws Rescue is to submit a completed adoption application. ##2559576##

Story
Sweet, funny, happy Teddy, how he sat in a shelter for almost a year and a half we will never understand! Luckily a wonderful foster family took him in and he is ready for his forever family. This boy is all about fun and snuggles! You can just see in his eyes how he loves to be a part of what is going on and tries to engage his people. He will throw his toys to you and then step back, all but holding his breath for you to throw it back to him. After romping with his foster siblings and people outside, he loves to snuggle inside with the family. Teddy is a fan of car rides, head out the window of course, walks and being a part of the action. During the day when his family is at work he is loose in the house and at night he likes to sleep in his bed next to his foster mom. Teddy is about 6 years old, 53 lbs and house broken. He is neutered, micro chipped and up to date on vetting. If you would like to make this sweet boy part of your family please email bigyellowgoose018@gmail.com for an application.

Story
Meet Mr. Laid Back! Preacher is the king of snuggles and has perfected his couch potato act! This 3 year old boy has been overlooked for too long and we are on an active campaign to get him in his forever home where he can have his very own family to tell him everyday how perfect he is. Preacher's foster mom has know him for quite some time as she volunteers at the shelter he lived at, he has always been one of her favorites. When cold hit and outdoor pups needed to be in she took him home to live with her dogs.... and he stayed as a foster! She says "he is a big puddle of love and so warm and squishy, he's the best snuggler. He is an overall lower energy dog. He gallops to fetch the ball then lays down next to me with it when he comes back. He is good with dogs big and small, and seems uninterested in cats. He is currently on journey of learning about the world since his experiences were limited in the shelter." Preacher is about 90lbs and admittedly needs to drop a few pounds. He is house and crate trained, neutered, microchipped and up to date on all vetting. If you would like to help this wonderful boy experience the life he deserves and make him a part of your family, please email bigyellowgoose018@gmail.com for an application.

Story
Meet Luna! This sweet girl was surrendered to us when her owner could no longer care for her. She is a older girl but she still has quite a bit of energy. She likes to bebop around the yard and play with toys. She is also affiliative and affectionate once she gets to know you. She has spent most of her life in a home and she is hoping she can get back into a new home soon! It is unknown how she would be around other animals or kids, but she may be ok after a meet and greet here at the shelter. Luna would most likely be a lower key dog once she settles into her new home. She would be a dog that would enjoy a nice long walk and then some snuggling on the couch with you. Her size, age and temperament makes her a wonderful choice for your home. Come make Luna your new best friend today! *If you can see me, I'm still available! We prefer initial adoption steps to be done via email, this way we can answer any time of day. We also prefer an application submitted before scheduling a visit, but it's not required, an email conversation is great! If you don't have access to email, no worries. Please call 401 680 7591. We differ from other shelters by offering a one-on-one experience between you, our staff and the animal or animals you've chosen to become a new family member! Please email pacadoptions@providenceri.gov or adoptions@friendsofpaccc.org *
