Story
Meet Hobbes, a lovable male pup who's a true friend and a gentle soul. With a heart as big as the great outdoors, Hobbes is the epitome of affection and friendliness. He's the perfect companion for anyone looking for a loyal and loving furry friend. Hobbes is an easy-going guy who loves nothing more than snuggling up on the couch and enjoying the simple pleasures of life. But don't be fooled by his "couch potato" nature – he's always up for a game of fetch (but he may keep the ball!) or a leisurely walk. He gets along splendidly with other dogs and has a cat "sister" in his foster's home. Hobbes is a real sweetheart of a guy and sure to bring joy and warmth to his new family and will be a wonderful addition to any home. If you are interested in him, please send an email to SCP! Applications can be found on our website at secondchancepets.org under the "Forms" tab. Please complete and return to us for review! Adopter for this dog must reside in the immediate Houston/Galveston area and be at least 25 years old. A home visit may be required prior to this dog going to any home. The adoption fee for a dog is $210 (or $270 for puppies). All dogs are microchipped, on heartworm protection, spayed/neutered, vaccinated, de-wormed and treated for fleas. Adoptions are held on Saturdays from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Clear Lake Petco, 2410 Bay Area Boulevard. Since all our dogs are in foster homes, an individual dog may not be at our weekly Adoption Event due to conflict with a foster's schedule. If you are interested in meeting a particular dog, please send an email to scpdogworld@gmail.com so that the Dog Coordinator can let you know if the dog will be at the Saturday Adoption Event at Petco. If you just want to meet some great dogs looking for their forever home, please come visit with us on Saturday!  July 17, 2026, 1:24 pm

Story
Hey there, I'm Orion! I'm a puppy with a zest for life. I'm playful, energetic, and a bit of a goofball. But don't let that fool you - I'm also incredibly smart and brave. I even battled Parvo and came out a victor! My journey to the shelter and into a foster home was quite an adventure. I was living a normal puppy life when I was suddenly imbued with superpowers. I could hear whispers from miles away, run faster than a speeding car, and leap over tall fences in a single bound! But, like all superheroes, I had to face my nemesis - Parvo. It was a tough battle, but with my indomitable spirit, I triumphed. After my victory, I found myself here, waiting for my next adventure. If you're looking for a companion who's full of energy, has a knack for fun, and a heart full of bravery, then I'm your guy! Let's start our adventure together!
